It is also part of the Knit it Now Home Study Course based on the series of Top Down Books by Jodie. It is intended to simplify the knitting instructions as you work through this style of pattern for the first time. Sew ‐ as ‐ you go increase: Pull 1 needle into working position on the carriage side each row. This creates a loop on the edge for seaming as you knit the other pieces of your sweater

LEFT NECKLINE SHAPING

Rehang the front stitches from the neckband on the center needles of the machine
Automatic Wrap: Pulling a needle into hold position on the carriage side to prevent holes
Pull all needles into hold position. Set carriage hold setting (Hold, I, II, or Russell Levers) *Carriage side: Push 2 needles into working position AND pull 1 empty needle into working position (raglan increase - 3 needles in work) Knit to the right Pull the needle on the right of those in working position into hold position (automatic wrap - 2 needles in work) Knit to the left* Repeat from * to * a total of 6 (8) times 12 (16) stitches in work on the left. Carriage on the left Carriage side: Pull 1 empty needle into working position (raglan increase) AND push the next 4 needles on the right into work 16 (20) stitches in work on the left. Hang 8 (16) sleeve stitches from neckband scrap onto center needles of needle bed
Sew ‐ as ‐ you go seam: As you knit the sleeves, you will join the back and front raglan edges.
On the needles next to the sleeve stitches, pick up and hang 17, (19) loops and 3 underarm stitches from one side of the front raglan armhole. Pick up and hang the 17 (19) loops and 3 underarm stitches from the corresponding back raglan armhole. 48 (60) stitches Pull all needles to hold position Set carriage to hold
Push into working position the center 8 (16) needles (from the scrap) AND one needle to the left. Knit to the left
Get in a rhythm: 2 into work (opposite carriage 1 to hold (next to carriage)
Using the automatic wrap method, pull the last knitted stitch (on the carriage side) into hold position. Push next 2 needles in hold (opposite side of the carriage) into working position Knit to the right
Continue adding 2 needles opposite the carriage into working position and putting the last stitch knit on the carriage side into hold (automatic wrap) until all stitches are in work EXCEPT the 3 underarm stitches on each side.
