MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Dear Friends, Each year, the Foundation for the Tri-State Community prepares an annual report to highlight its activities. Through this document, the Foundation celebrates the spirit of giving and the positive impact of individuals, businesses and non-profits working together to make the Tri-State region the best that it can be. Taken as a whole, the gifts of time, talent and treasure documented in these pages create a story of communities that care – for their past, their present and their future. The Foundation continues to grow and thrive, leaving an ever-expanding footprint on our region. It has the great fortune of working with generous individuals, families and businesses to achieve their charitable goals and dreams and to leave meaningful charitable legacies. This report includes lists of its donors and the charitable funds they support, as well as the grants, projects, distributions and scholarships that are funded through their donations and the income generated from their permanent endowments. The positive impact of the Foundation on its communities is directly tied to the generosity of its donors. The success of the Foundation depends on the strong leadership of its board, committees and staff. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has worked so diligently to make the Foundation a success. The Foundation is proud of its new website, www.tristatefoundation.org, which provides a platform featuring basic information about the Foundation, updates on its current activities and the opportunity for online giving. The goal of the website is to make the Foundation and all it offers more easily accessible and better known throughout the area. Please take a moment to visit this site and provide feedback about your experience. For up-to-the-minute news about our projects and funds, find us on Facebook and Twitter (@FoundationTSC). With best regards,

Mary Witten Wiseman

shouldn’t be kept secret, so

please help spread the news about the Foundation’s good works.

10

Our region is experiencing an unprecedented transfer of wealth as estates change hands from one generation to the next, nearly $5 billion in the next ten years. Imagine if just 5% of the wealth earned in the Tri-State region could stay in endowments that benefit the region forever.

Anyone can be a

philanthropist through a legacy gift...

Is your community one of your heirs?
