Screen Printing Inks
S
creen inks used in printings made with serigraphy system. Ink viscosity is adjusted with thinners according to type of sieve.
There are different series screen inks which are suitable to different materails such as metal, glass, artificial leather, textile and paper besides plastic materials and in diversity that can satisfy all needs of the sector. These inks are used in printing of many products such as graphics, posters, advertisement boards, billboards, totems, promotion materials.
MX Series Solvent based screen inks series MAXIMA is self-dissolving serigraphic ink series which is designed for printing on hard and soſt PVC, self adhesive PVC papers, enamels, melamine, polycarbonates, oroglass, perspex and other acrylates, ABS, CAB, cellulose acetate, polystyrene, polyesters, artificial leather, plexiglass, paper and cardboard.
SE Series Solvent based screen inks series SE series screen inks having extra high adhesion characteristics are suitable for applications that are not needed high chemical resistance. They can be applicable to hard plastics, PVC, artificial leather, plexiglass, acetate, polystyrene, self adhesive PVC papers, enamel, melamine, cardboard, polycarbonate, oroglass, perspex and other acrylics, ABS, CAB, cellulose acetate and polyesters. The plasticizers present in the structure of soſt PVC known as artificial leather have tendency to migrate to the surface by the time and this leads to blocking problem. For that reason some print samples should be subjected to blocking test.
Technical Properties • Excellent gloss (can be produced as matt if desired) • Very low blocking risk • Low odour • Fast drying • Elastic printing surface with good rub resistance • High rub resistance and high slipperiness • Excellent dot sharpness and excellent screen work • Superb screen stability and self solvency • Maximum lightfastness and weathering resistance (sufficient also for normal printing of outdoor advertising posters) • High battery acid, alcohol and petrol resistance

SF Series Double component solvent based screen inks series SF series screen inks are developed for extra high adhesion and resistance applications. Double component, epoxy based SF series inks are designed for printing on HDPE, LDPE, PP, metal and glass to obtain printings having very high gloss and resistance. SF series inks dry by chemical reaction (polymerization). Although surface drying is completed in 20-30 minutes aſter printing, the hardening of the ink film occurs aſter 12 hours. Chemical resistance of the printing is very good aſter 24 hours and it reaches its best aſter a few days. Mixing Ratio: 2 units ink and 1 unit hardener (SF0421) by
Remarks: • Printings on glass and metal surfaces should be cured for 15 minutes at 140 °C to obtain maximum hardness and adhesion. • Ink should be stored as two packs and should be mixed in recommended ratios just before using. • Since the ink mixture will be hardened aſter 12-10 hours, just required amount of ink should be prepared. • Polyethylene surfaces should be treated with fire. • Even though the inks have high light resistance, epoxy resins used in formulation can have poor weathering resistance. Prints might have chalking tendency and loss of gloss risk. Inks might be not useful for long term outdoor applications.
weight. Chemical resistance can be increased by increasing the ratio of the hardener up to 1/1 weight-to-weight ratio by keeping in mind that the elasticity of the ink film will decrease in the same ratio. The viscosity of the mixture should be adjusted by SF9900 thinner according to the mesh number of the screen and no other solvent should be used.
Technical Properties • Excellent gloss (can be produced as matt if desired) • Low odour • Fast drying • High rub resistance and high slipperiness • Excellent dot sharpness and excellent screen work • Superb screen stability • High battery acid, alcohol and petrol resistance
SS Series Water based screen inks series SS series are rapid cure, ready to print screen inks. It is developed for printing on absorbent substrates such as paper, board, wood and textile. Diluting is not necessary under normal conditions. 5% by weight water can be added for adjusting viscosity. “SS-9945 Retarder Thinner” would be used at very high temperature. “SS-9925 Fast Thinner” should be used for very fast automatic printers and at lower temperature where drying takes longer time than expected. Drying takes 3-5 minutes at room temperature (25 °C). This period is 10-30 seconds with jet dryer unit setting at 55-60 °C. Drying time can vary depending on the material type, printing and storage conditions. It should be kept in mind that the screen should be suitable for water based system.
Technical Properties • Excellent gloss • Low blocking risk • Low odour • Fast drying • High rub resistance and high slipperiness • Excellent dot sharpness and excellent screen work • Superb screen stability and self solvency • High light and weather resistance
US Series UV drying screen inks series US series screen inks are UV-curing inks for printing almost all types of non-absorbent substrates. There are lots of materials in the market for that reason test prints should done before printing. US series inks are available in 4-colour process series. US series has good curing properties combined with very good flow. It’s possible to achieve all printing speeds. This series will work in all different types of screen meshes suitable for screen printing. These inks can dry only with UV energy. All UV-lamp systems available on the market could be used for curing, provided energy output is between 80-120 W/cm and the wavelength spectra is 200-450 nm. It is very important to keep the reflectors clean and undamaged and to control the energy output of the lamps. US series has 12 months shelf life at room temperature (15-20°C) when kept in original containers. Lower storage temperature will prolong the shelf life.
Remarks • Avoid the products exposure to direct sunlight and heat • Never mix with any other UV-inks or varnishes nor conventional ink • US-9900 thinner can be used for adjusting the viscosity • If weaker shade is required US-9440 Transparent White can be used • To obtain opaque white US-2400 recommended Technical Properties • Excellent gloss • Fast drying • High rub resistance and high slipperiness • Excellent dot sharpness and excellent screen work • Superb screen stability and self solvency

It is a defoaming and levelling additive. Foaming problem is cause bad levelling on printing. This can be result as pinholes sometimes. To prevent this problem print substrate should be clean. Still smooth level cannot be achieved small amount of defoamer (max 1%) can be added to the ink externally. By mixing carefully levelling problem should be solved.
US-1900
High gloss protective overprint lacquer. It is used to get slip, gloss and protective property on printed materials. If matt effect is desired suitable matting paste can be added.
US-2440 SS-1440
Matt and gloss transparent varnishes are compatible with ink system. These are used for to adjust the colour density of inks according to print conditions. When matt appearance is requested, it is used by mixing into the ink upto desired level. Since it is compatible with ink, it can be mixed easily. It is a printing aid used to get better adhesion at printing to surfaces that are non-corona treated and/or inadequate treated. Beside it can be used for very thin film materials, which cannot treat with flame. Application: It is applied directly to substrate surface that is clean, dry, without grease and dust with a piece of cotton or fabric. Print can be made just aſter drying. Efficiency stays for 1-2 days.
