Procedure Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document. This document covers such items as:• Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.). • Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.). • Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.). • Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.). Please see your Toyota dealer for a copy of this document. Negative Battery Cable

1. Vehicle Disassembly. (a) Set parking brake. (b) Remove the negative battery cable. (Fig. 1-1) (1) Protect the fender before starting. (2) Do not touch the positive terminal with any tool when removing cable.

(c) Disengage the clips and claws and remove the passenger side door scuff plate. (Fig. 1-2)

2. Loosen the Head Unit. (a) Remove the two (2) nuts on top and the two (2) screws on the bottom. (Fig. 2-1)

(b) Disconnect the damper using a nylon removal tool. (Fig. 3-1) (c) Push both sides and pull off one by one. (d) Pull the glove box straight out to release the bottom clips.

Note: Before removing the garnish you must clean the antenna mounting area with Windex and then mark the mounting location of the tape pad.

Remove the “A” Pillar Garnish.

(a) Measure from the right side of the tape pad over to the right side “A” pillar 360mm and place a mark on the window as shown. (Fig. 4-1) W/O Curtain Side Air Bag (b) Using a nylon removal tool, remove the garnish by inserting the tool under the garnish and then prying outward until the clips are disengaged. (Fig. 4-2) (c) Slide upward to remove the garnish.

(1) Using a nylon removal tool, disengage the clip labeled A. (Fig. 4-3) (2) Insert a clip removal tool onto clip B under the garnish.

Note: Apply protective tape or a rag between the clip removal tool and the “A” pillar to prevent the clip removal tool from scratching the paint. (3) Now push the upper portion of the garnish in by hand and then pry outward with the clip removal tool to release the clip. (Fig. 4-4) Note: The new clip included in the kit must be used when reinstalling the “A” pillar garnish.

Procedure 5. Install the Antenna. Note: Mounting location must be cleaned with approved cleaner & completely dry & installation temperature must be between 60° - 100° F before mounting the tape pad. (a) Place the pad in the correct mounting location.

(1) At this point only remove the white release paper from the mounting pad. (Fig. 5-1)

(2) When placing the pad on the window, place the red release paper pull-tab approximately 5mm from the front of the headliner and then align with the mark on the window as shown. (Fig 5-2) (3) Initially only stick the very top edge of the tape pad onto the window. (b) Complete the installation of the tape pad. (Fig 5-3) (1) Using a 6 ¼” Plastic Spreader start from the top of the tape pad and evenly squeegee down the pad to assure complete wet-out of the tape.

NOTE: Spreader must completely cover the width of the tape pad in one downward stroke in order to assure complete wet-out of the tape. (c) Remove the red release paper from the front of the antenna tape pad. (Fig. 5-4)

(d) Remove the 3 release tabs from the back of the antenna, and place the antenna in the proper position directly over the mounting pad. (Fig. 5-5) (1) By hand firmly apply pressure upward on the antenna to assure complete wet-out of the tape pads.

(e) Route the antenna cable up underneath the front of the headliner as shown. (Fig. 5-6) (1) By hand pull down the front of the headliner and position the antenna cable up underneath the headliner as shown. 3 Foam Tape Pads

(1) Cut two foam tape pads supplied in kit in half and place 3 strips along the cable to hold in position as shown. (Fig. 5-6)

Note: Must run antenna cable on top part of “A” pillar Cable passes through at bottom 3 Foam Tape Pads

(2) On vehicles with side curtain airbags make sure the cable does not interfere with the airbag system. (3) Make sure the cable passes over at the bottom part of the “A” pillar so it does not interfere with the airbag system. (Fig. 5-7)

(f) Route the cable down the upper part of the “A” pillar as shown. (Fig. 5-6)

(g) Continue routing the cable down the door opening under the door seal rubber molding as shown. (Fig. 5-8) (1) Place a piece of foam tape to secure the antenna cable as shown. (Fig. 5-8)

(h) Route the cable inside the factory harness wire clips along the doorsill. After the seat is moved in step 7 the cable will continue under the carpet out the opening for the seat harness to where the receiver module will be installed. (Fig. 5-9)

6. Install and Route the Receiver Harness.

(a) Install and route the receiver harness from the center cluster and along the front support bar. (Fig. 6-1) (1) Gently pull out the radio cluster in order to access the plug-in location. (2) Route the receiver harness under the air bag harness continuing through the opening in the glove box up to the radio and plug in the connector.

(3) Provide sufficient cable slack to connect to the audio head unit as shown. Adjust the slack of the cable to match slack of other cables. (Fig. 6-1) (4) Place the radio cluster back into position. Fig. 6-2

(b) Secure the receiver harness to the front support bar with three (3) lock ties. (Fig. 6-2)

(d) Route the receiver cable through the existing wire clips along the doorsill. (Fig. 6-4 & 6-5) Lock Tie

(f) After the seat is moved in step 7 you will continue routing the harness under the carpet and out the same opening as the passenger seat connector harness. (Fig. 6-5)

7. Access the Receiver Mounting Location. (a) Protect the center console area before loosening the seat. Plastic Covers x 2 and Bolts x 3 14 mm Socket Nylon Removal Tool

(b) Slide the seat forward and remove the two (2) plastic covers on the seat rails. Remove the three (3) bolts under the plastic covers. (Fig. 7-1) (c) Slide the seat backwards and remove the two (2) bolts that hold the front end of the seat rails. (Fig. 7-2)

(d) Tilt the seat up being careful not to put too much tension on the wire harness connected under the seat. (Fig. 7-3) (e) Position the seat so it remains tilted back to access the receiver mounting area. (Fig 7-3) NOTE: Be careful not to damage the seat or put too much tension on the seat wire harness when tilting the seat in the vehicle.

8. Cut Carpet. (a) Position the carpet-cutting template on the floor under the passenger seat as shown. (Fig. 8-1) (Seat not shown in picture) (1) Place a hard flat floor protector under the carpet & pad to protect the floor from the cutting tool.

(b) Using a carpet cutting knife cut the carpet all the way through to the floor. (Fig 8-2) (1) Make sure there are no wires under the carpet where the cuts will be made.

(2) Cut the full length along the cutting lines on the template. (3) Make sure the carpet is cut all the way through to the floor the full length of the cut lines. Note: Installer may choose to cut an additional ½” longer cut forward in order to ease installation of the bracket. 9. Install the Receiver.

(a) Clean the bracket with an approved cleaner and apply 4 pieces of double sided tape onto the bracket as shown. (Fig. 9-1)

Note: All tape mounting surfaces must be completely dry and installation temp must be between 60° - 100° F. (b) Install the receiver onto the bracket using the 8 screws supplied in the kit. (Fig. 9-2)

Fig. 9-3 (1) Make sure the bracket goes all the way through the carpet so that the feet can be mounted to the floor pan. (Fig. 9-4)

(d) Clean the floor with approved cleaner and remove the 4 release tabs from the bottom of the bracket and mount the bracket to the floor pan. (Fig. 9-5)

(1) Make sure the bracket is firmly attached to the floor pan by firmly applying pressure down on the receiver/bracket assembly.

(e) Plug the connector and antenna into the receiver module. (Fig. 9-6) (1) Tape the antenna cable down to the bracket with a piece of foam tape as shown. (2) Lock tie antenna cable and harness together as shown. (Fig 9-6) (3) Bundle up any excess harness and antenna cable with lock tie and foam tape and place under the carpet as shown. (Fig. 9-7)

NOTE: Clip all lock ties after tightening 10. Retighten the Radio/Player Head Unit. (a) Re-install the four (4) screws.

11. In Process Functional Test. (a) Temporarily reconnect battery negative cable. (b) Turn ignition key to ACC position. (c) Press the power button on the receiver/player head unit. Verify the backlighting illuminates. (d) Press and release the “SAT” button on the head unit. (1) Verify that a satellite channel is received, or a "NO SIGNAL" message appears on the display. NOTE: If "ANTENNA" appears (flashing) on the display - then the antenna cable is disconnected from the satellite tuner. NOTE: If the head unit will not tune or go into satellite mode - then the tuner cable is disconnected from the satellite tuner. (e) Disconnect battery negative cable. Issue: B

12. Complete the Reassembly of the Vehicle: (a) Re-install the front seat (1) Reinstall the five (5) bolts loosely, then tighten them. (2) Tighten bolts to 40 N-m (30 lbf-ft) (3) Reconnect any disconnected connectors.

(b) Reinstall glove box. (c) Reinstall upper console panel. (1) Reconnect any disconnected connectors. (d) Reinstall lower console panel. (1) Reconnect the lighter connector and clip. (e) Reinstall doorsill. (f) Reconnect the vehicle’s negative battery cable. (Fig. 12-1) (1) Position the negative terminal at an angle of ~90˚ (+- 30) to the battery as shown. (2) Tighten the nut with 4.1 N-m (36 lbf-in) of torque. (3) Be careful not to touch the positive battery terminal. (g) Clean up and remove any trash. (h) Place the owner "SIRIUS Satellite Radio" brochure in the glove box. 13. For Accessory fitted after Pre Delivery Service Only. (a) Reset the power windows. (1) Turn ignition key to ON position. (2) Push down the power window switches of each door, and lower the windows halfway.

Procedure (3) Pull up the switches until the windows close and hold switches up for a further one (1) second (minimum.) (b) Reset the power moon roof. (1) Push and hold moon roof switch to close side until moon roof closes. Hold for a further 2 seconds. (2) Push door lock control switch to the “unlock” side.
