PEOPLE AND CLASS NEWS EDUCATION 235

Late last month, students in Dr. Amy's EDUC 235 class (Mathematics for Primary School Children) participated in match car races to demonstrate knowledge of cardinal, nominal, and ordinal numbers. Despite a few false starts and cars disqualified for leaving the track sideways, the races were an exciting way to explore math concepts. EDUC 235 class members proudly display their match cars.

Education 100 Dr. Gieselmann's EDUC 100 class (History and Foundations of American Education) has been studying the history of Education. One of the fun and rewarding assignments in the course is the “Peep Contest”. Ashlee Kawall, a former student in the course, came back to the class to help with this innovative project. Each group created a display to highlight an education topic from a particular century, using the ever-popular marshmallow “Peeps”. Two awards were bestowed – Best Display and Best Presentation. Special thanks to our esteemed judges, Billie Chandler (Administrative Assistant in the Physician Assistant program), Karen Doss (Administrative Associate to the Dean of the College of Education and Health Sciences), Jeannette Oakley (Director of Education Services), and Lisa Toelle (Senior Administrative Assistant in the School of Education).
