AK Steel Sons Scholarships are available to sons and daughters of eligible AK Steel employees. and Daughters Applicants must be high school seniors who will graduate in the current academic year and enter an accredited U.S. college or university no later than the start of the Scholarship next academic year. Selection is based on test scores, class rank, extracurricular activities, recommendations, work experience, and essay. Applications available in September and due by December 31. Bob Evans Scholarship

High School Seniors must be currently employed at a Bob Evans Restaurant, have at least 2.75 GPA, have performed a minimum of 250 hours of foodservice-related work, and have gained acceptance to a foodservice-related post-secondary program. Deadline for high school seniors is May 15. Undergraduate Students must be currently employed at a Bob Evans Restaurant, have at least 2.75 GPA, be enrolled for a full term and employed by Bob Evans for at least 6 months, have completed at least one term of a 2 or 4 year degree program, and have at least 750 hours of work in restaurant and hospitality industry. Deadlines for undergraduates are March 31 and July 31.

One annual scholarship (usually $500) to a student artist pursuing a degree in the Bucci – Dietz Art Endowment visual arts field at a college, university, or institute. Students must be nominated by their art teachers. The recipient is selected with consideration given to artistic Scholarship achievements, artistic potential, academic ability, dependability, responsibility, motivation, and recommendations. Awards are from $250 to $2,500; requirements are: high school graduates with a GPA of 2.0 or better, must be a resident of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, or Illinois. Preference will be made for residents of Piqua, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio; or Miami County, Ohio. Students must attend an accredited college, university, community college or technical, vocational or trade school located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana or Illinois. Graduate education is not eligible for consideration. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, commitment to completing proposed course of study and commitment to “giving back to the community.” Application available in January. Deadline is April 1. Four $1,000 awards – 2 to employees and 2 to non-employees who are residents of counties served by Cambridge Home Health Care. Applicants must be a home health/nurse’s aide or licensed practical nurse who has worked for 2 of the past 3 years in either capacity. Applicants must also be enrolling in school for the coming school year and not currently in school to become a licensed practical nurse or a registered nurse. Deadline is May 15.

Ora E. Anderson Scholarship

Two or more $2,500 scholarships will be awarded annually to students pursuing studies associated with the natural sciences. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or possess a GED, and currently live and attend school within the 32 counties of Appalachian Ohio. Candidates who demonstrate overall commitment to environmental protection and conservation will be considered; ethical character, extra-curricular activities, volunteerism and financial need will also be evaluated. Applications must be postmarked by March 31.

Wayne F. White Annual award open to students who reside in and graduate from high schools located within the 29 counties of Appalachian Ohio. Criteria for selection of Scholarship scholarship recipients will include students that have obtained or will obtain a high school diploma or GED, that have been accepted at an institution of higher education, show evidence of an ethical character, extra-curricular activities and financial need. John Wells Memorial Scholarship

The John Wells Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of longtime area pitching coach John Wells. We are seeking individuals who have demonstrated outstanding athletic involvement during their education and exhibit the ability to succeed in completing their higher education. The two, one time, non-renewable $1,000 scholarships will be given to outstanding female softball players/managers in a six county area including Muskingum, Guernsey, Noble, Perry, Morgan and Coshocton. A check will be sent directly to the chosen institution and can be used for room, board, tuition or books. The applicant must be a graduating Senior during the 11-12 school year, be accepted or anticipate being accepted to any post secondary institution, be a US citizen or permanent resident, and provide a letter of recommendation from a softball coach and one other adult who is not a relative.
