A Little History About Our Company ... I would like to take this opportunity to share with you, a little of my family history and our company’s history. In 1946, my Grandfather, Oscar Hudon began logging and farming in Crown Point, New York near Lake Champlain, with his sons Daniel, Omer, Paul and Maurice. They quickly gained respect in their community and earned a reputation for quality and hard work. Through the years, their reputation has continued to stand strong. Being a third generation Hudon, these qualities and values were passed on to me and continue to be the cornerstone of our company today. In tribute to my Grandfather, we named our line of bandmills after him and continue to carry on his commitment of hard work and quality. The name Hud-Son derived from Hudon and Son. Here at Hud-Son we listen when customers have ideas or suggestion on how to make our mills more efficient and easier to use. In the case of the Oscar-221 you, our customers have wanted electric start. We researched and found Subaru to have a 9HP motor with electric start and manual recoil. This is very handy if your battery ever fails, you can still start your unit. It also has a one-inch crankshaft that will accept our heavy-duty Noram centrifugal clutch. This upgrade is the same clutch we use on our 14-35 hp motor and they have given flawless performance and durability.

The Subaru 9 hp motor also carries a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. The Oscar-221 has a 21" diameter log capacity and unlimited length capacity with optional track sections. The standard unit comes with two six-foot sections of track that will allow you to cut a 9 ½ foot log. The unit is manually adjusted for height by a hand crank and is pushed through the cut. The scale system incorporates a dual measuring scale. It has inches or metric for you to cut at a specific height for beams or mantles and a quarter scale rule for dimensional lumber. The Oscar-221 comes with

a blade lubrication system that holds 2 1/1 gallons of blade lube. The blade lube is a simple mixture of dishwashing soap and water or windshield washer fluid if temperatures dip below freezing. This system flows directly onto the blade to keep blades free of pitch and running freely through the Hud-son Guides. The guides limit the blade deviation by having a shoe above and below the blade thus preventing blade fluctuations and porpoising. The cutting head feature 16" band wheels with polypropylene belting to increase band blade life and reduce vibration.

The band wheels ride on a heavy-duty 1 ½" shaft supported by two pillow block bearings on each side of the wheel. The H360 is our sawmill that has all the features to make milling lumber a breeze. EDGER HUD-SON

The Hud-Son Edger 1913 is a great piece of equipment to help any sawmill owner be more profitable while saving valuable time. Anyone that has added an edger to their sawmill operation has reported an increase of production from 30 to 50%. You do not have to rehandle boards. There is no wasting valuable time setting them back up on the sawmill. There is no wasting good lumber that could be saved with the use of an edger. Each boards is edged separately to get the maximum board footage per piece. All this adds up to more profit in your pocket. The Hud-Son model 1913 Edger features a 13 hp engine, two thin kerf carbide tipped split saw blades, one stationary and one movable, a two speed machine feed roller system accompanied by a spring tension system that prevents your boards from slipping during operation. A spring loaded lock in position spin wheel sets the movable saw blade for precise board widths. The edger is equipped with standard anti kick back fingers, and a flip down fence for boards that only need edging on one side. Your safety is top priority with the under saw safety guard. A reinforced top guard allows for over the top return for quick re-edging, quick and ease of removal of guards for lubrication and speed set change. The top guard can also flip up for quick and easy blade change. It cuts up to 2 ¼” thick and can edge a rough board up to 23” wide and a maximum 19” wide finish board cut distance. An optional hand winch or 12 volt electric winch to drag logs or many other items into reach of the lift can easily be added. It fits any Class III 10,000 lb receiver, for those wanting to bolt it down to a trailer or other item. It also has a pre drilled flat plate. There is a two hole extendable boom for logs up to 14 foot long. The Hud-Son Lifting Arm comes standard with 1200 max lift, estimated weight of 375 lbs. hand winch: 1200 lbs, 12 volt winch: 1200 lbs, a 360 degree swing, maximum reach is 7 ‘ 6”, standard 3 adjustable jacks are standard.
