About 27% of offshore oil and gas fields are located at a distance of more than 200 km (inc. 19% over 300 km) According to the forecast of OGP in the short term, average remoteness of the platforms reach to 220 - 250 km.

The average remoteness of drilling rigs in South East Asia is from 80 to 200 km, with a max of 350 km. In Australia – 200 - 250 km, maximum reaches 500 km.
