At the same time the car companies give the importance to control the pollution. 7.Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow it.(Jan2010) 5 x 16 = 80 It has always been clear, of course that a properly designed medical programme uses press, posters, printed leaflets and so on in proportions suitable to the nature of the product itself. In such a programme, television occupies a relatively important place if the product is sold in small quantities, at a low price to the vast mass of the people. It is regarded as the quick acting medium, peculiarly suited to ‘impulse purchases’. Dr.S.MOHAN 11

Larger items, such as cars and refrigerators, may be more profitably advertised in the press or other media which are examined in greater detail and more at leisure than television commercials can possible be. Nevertheless, in most mass advertising campaigns, the media are used in combination with each other, in proportions which tend to be more and more carefully, and even scientifically determined. It is significant, in this connection, that the poster medium and outdoor advertising generally, are now staging something of a recovery, after sustaining what at first looked like being a severe blow at the time of the introduction of commercial television into the United Kingdom in 1955. Media planning is only one of the branches of the British advertising business, where more exact methods of measurement and the close study of statistical data have made considerable headway in recent years. The marketing and research departments of the advertisers themselves, and of the agents who act as middlemen between advertisers and media owners in the case of more than 50 percent of British advertising business are constantly expanding. These departments have for sometime included a number of university graduates. Usually with particular qualification in Statistics and the movement of university trained men in advertising, the business is growing as is the study of advertising problems in the universities themselves, particularly in the departments of economics, psychology and sociology. a) i) ii) iii) iv) v) vi) (b) i) ii) iii) iv) v)

8. Find the following passage and answer the questions that follow: (Jan 2011) The secrets of sleep were a mystery for centuries simply because there was neither the means to explore them, nor the need. Only when candles give way to gas light and man began to double his output by working shifts around the clock, did people seriously start wondering if sleep could be a waste of time. Our ability to switch night into day is very recent, and it is questionable if we will ever want, or be able, to give up our habit of enjoying a good night’s sleep. However a remarkable research project in London has already discovered a few people who actually enjoy insomnia. Even chronic insomniacs often get more hours of sleep than they think. But, by placing electronic contacts beside the eyes and on the head, it is possible to check their complaint by studying the tiny currents we generate which reveal the different brainwaves of sleep and wakefulness. This has shown that for some people seven or eight hours of sleep a night are quiet unnecessary. A lot of recent work has shown that too much sleep is bad for you, so that if you are fortunate enough to be born with a body, which needs only a small amount of sleep, you may well, be healthier and happier than someone who sleeps longer. Every attempt to unravel the sleep and be precise about its function raises many problems. The sleeper himself cannot tell what is going on and even when he wakes, has only a very hazy idea of how good or bad a night he has had. The research is expensive and often unpopular, as it inevitably involves working at night. Only in the last few years have experts come up with theories about the function of sleep and laws, which may govern it. The real advance in sleep research came in 1937 with the use of the electroencephalogram. This machine showed small 50 microvolt changes in the brain. So, for the first time, we could observe sleep from moment to moment. Before that time one could put the person to bed, watch him mumble, toss, turn bring back a few rough memories of dreams, and that was about all. In 1937 it was possible to read out these changes, second by second. Then in Dr.S.MOHAN 13

1959 two other things happened. Kleitman and Aserinsky, as they were looking at eye movements, trying to understand the brainwaves, noticed that after about ninety minutes there would be a burst of the EEG, as if the person wake, and the eyes would move rapidly. It was not hard to guess that it was a dream. And indeed it was. Waking people up during that period, they found they were dreaming; waking them up at other periods, they found no dreams. The electroencephalograph shows that when we fall asleep we pass through a cycle of sleep stages. At the onset of sleep, the cycle lasts about ninety minutes during which you pass through stages one, two, and three to stage four. This is the deepest form of sleep, and from it you retreat to stage two and from there into REM, or Rapid Eye movement sleep. Here, for ten minutes on the first cycle and then gradually longer, it is thought that we do most of our dreaming. Studies of people who volunteered to be locked up for weeks in an observation chamber with no idea of whether it is night or day, give remarkable results. We are not in fact, 24 hours creatures. Put people in such circumstances and even though the patterns of sleep continue, the say is extended to about 25 hours. Without any clues to time, these [people go to sleep the first night about an hour later than usual, the next night an hour later, and the next night an hour later. So that, after about ten days, the person is going to sleep at three o’clock in the afternoon, thinking that he is still going to sleep at midnight. Today , jet-lag is a familiar hazard for the seasoned traveler. Travel across time zones plays havoc with the biological clock rhythm of the human body. For the active pilot, who is rarely in one place enough to know if it is time for breakfast or dinner, the impact of jet-lag on his sleep is critical. Several air disasters have been partly caused by overtired pilots ignoring the natural laws of sleep. Much research is directed to finding out what there laws are and to what extent pilots and astronauts dare disobey them. But they are laws, which affect all of us, and not just pilots. 9. Read the following Passage and answer the questions that follow it: June-2011 Each one of us way has the education and training that make us competent at our jobs. These are our strengths, and we must build on them. But, as I mentioned earlier, there is always bound to be a gap in our training and knowledge to do all the things our jobs may entail, and in such situations, admitting ignorance is just one step. Actively seeking to bridge that gap is the next important step in becoming self-aware. Quite often it is through help from others. Seeking help from someone, a peer, a mentor, your supervisor, even a junior-is not a sign of the weak. We are surrounded by knowledge people in our own organizations and certainly outside. But we feel self-conscious to actively seek their help. We are plagued with selfdoubt: What if a peer uses the context to show case himself as better than me? What if my junior loses respect for me if I ask for help? Am I exposing diminished capacity or intellect by admitting I need help? These can be real risks sometimes. But again, if a professional does not take risks, how will he develop emotional self-confidence? The moment we seek help, we actively expand inner capacity; we create the emptiness into which others pour in their capabilities. Seeking help is not always about solving an organizational problem. Sometimes we may have a personal problem- an emotional issue, an awkward health matter – which we keep to ourselves. Sooner rather than later, it will adversely affect our work. Dr.S.MOHAN 16

There is no shame is signing up for help- in matters work, or in matters of mental and physical well-being. 1. Match the headings with the paragraphs: 1. One need not hesitate to seek help from others for personal or professional matters. 2. Without taking chances one cannot grow mentally. 3. Everyone has knowledge 4. Help from others fill the gap in our training and knowledge 5. Health problem may affect our office work 6. We hesitate to seek help from others. Ans: 3, 4, 3, 2, 5, 3. b.State thefollowing statements are true or false: 1. People generally do not feel shy while seeking help from others. (False) 2. Our poor health does not affect our work. (False) 3. Seeking help is a sign of weakness. (False) 4. With education and training there is no need to seek help. (False) (c)Match the words or phrases in column A with their meaning in column B: Column A Column B 1. Competent -advisor 2. Mental -involve 3. Entail -capable 4. Mentor -Psychological 5. Peer -A person who is equal 6. Plague -weighed down

Ans: (i)3,(ii)4,(iii)6,(iv)5,(v)1(vi)2 10. Read the given passage and answer the questions that follow it: JUNE/JULY 2009 Other passions besides self – esteem are common source of error; of these perhaps the most important is fear. Fear sometimes operates directly, by inventing rumours disaster in war – time, or by imagining objects of terror, such as ghosts, sometimes it operates indirectly by creating belief in something comforting. Such is the elixir of life or heaven for ourselves and hell for our enemies. Fear has many forms – fear of death, fear of the dark, fear of the unknown and fear of the herd. Until you have admitted your own fears to yourself and have guarded yourselves by a difficult effort of will against their myth – making power, you cannot hope to think truly about many matters of great importance, especially those with which religious beliefs are concerned. Fear is the main source of superstition and one of the main sources or cruelty. To conquer fear is the endeavour after a worthy manner of life.

There are two ways of avoiding fear: one is by persuading ourselves that we are immune from disaster and the other is by practice of sheer courage. The latter is difficult and to everybody becomes impossible at a certain point. The former has therefore always been more popular. Primitive magic has the purpose of securing safety, either by injuring enemies or by protecting ourselves by talismans, spells or incantation. Without any essential change beliefs in such ways of avoiding danger survived throughout the many centuries of Babylonian civilization, spread from Babylon throughout the empire of Alexander and was acquired by the Romans and descended to medieval Christendom and Islam. Science has now lessened the belief in magic, but many people place more faith mascots than they are willing to avow, and sorcery while condemned by the church is still officially a possible sin.

The diesel engine, an increasingly popular engine in automobiles has its own disadvantages.

(b)

For one, the higher compression that makes the diesel engine more efficient necessitates the use of heavier engine components.

(h)

Therefore, diesel engines remain heavier than petrol engines.

(a)

Another disadvantage is that, diesel engines are difficult to start in cold weather.

(g)

But, plugs are available to preheat the engines to provide easier starting.

(c )

Thirdly, diesel engines have been noted for their loud noise and vibration.

(e)

Finally these engines are known for the emission of heavy smoke.

Write a paragraph of about 200 words explaining the wisdom of investing money in articles of gold. (JAN2010) Gold, the beautiful yellow metal has been the most precious metal since time immemorable in the Indian households. At present, it is increasingly becoming an attractive investment for the average households. Especially in India – World’s largest consumer gold – gold is considered as one of the safest investment bets for the following reasons. Firstly , the world is witnessing a sudden spurt in gold prices following the United states war against Iraq and the inflation in the price of crude oil in the international market. Since then, there has been a sharp rise in global prices in gold market. The sharp fluctuations from 2003 to the present day has motivated many Indian households make money on their old gold. Secondly, gold is a unique metal with near indestructibility. So it is safe to invest our money in gold which can withstand natural calamities. Thirdly, and most importantly, gold ornaments and jewellery are exempted from wealth tax and gift-tax. Gold ornaments upto 500 gms, in case of a married lady and 100 gms, in case of a male member of the family are not liable to wealth tax. Even where the jewellery and ornaments are in excess of the limit i.e. Rs.15 lakhs, they will not be seized by the income tax department, if they are reasonable keeping in view the social status of the family and the customs and practice of the community. Gold remains an integral part of our social and religious customs. Its ductility and malleability have helped craftsmen to carve exquisite piece of ornaments that ladies prefer to wear it during functions and social gatherings. So it can be safely concluded that gold is a preferable investment option and it is wise to invest in this unique metal.

(OR) Write a paragraph of about 200 words highlighting six most serious problems that are caused by the increased growth in traffic. (JAN2010) Chennai city is on its wheels particularly during peak hours. While in 1981, there were 1.25 lakh registered vehicles, today the number has crossed more than 20 lakhs. In another 2-3 years, the vehicles have to vie and jostle for space. At present due to this increase, nearly 1,00,000 lives are lost on Indian roads and about one lakh are maimed for life. Studies show that in Tamil Nadu itself, 12,727 fatal accidents had been recorded in 2009 alone. Some of the problems that are caused by increased growth in traffic due to vehicles and suitable solutions to avert those problems are as follows: The first major traffic problem is – the violation of traffic rules – the largest number of fatalities in traffic accidents is also from the same segment. Youngsters riding their bikes at breakneck speed not adhering to either the rules or the other road users is hazardous. They should be made to realize that their rash and negligent driving could have life threatening repercussions that will haunt them for a life time. The Government should make helmet-wearing mandatory. The second is the pitiable condition of our city roads. The bottlenecks at crucial intersections, yapping holes, patchwork on the roads form a horrifying experience even for an adept rider. Though the number of flyovers has eased traffic to some extent, the Government should relay the roads taking into account drains, cross

Dr.S.MOHAN 21

slope and the texture and quality of the finished surface. A road Monitoring Group can be set up by the citizen’s themselves to monitor the work. Another problem is the fish carts and tanker lorry drivers, who seem to think that the road is meant only for them. They should be made to realize that every person on the road is someone’s breadwinner or helper, etc. Close to their heels are the auto wallahs who think that Chennai cannot survive without them. Bus drivers, too, are at fault speeding past signals, stopping the buses ahead/ beyond the stops and rash driving. Liquor shops on highways, add to drunken driving. Using powerful lights at night time and not dimming them when required is also a cause for accidents. Only stringent action by the Government by making those who are misusing the roads pay heavy penalty and seizing their licences will help solve the problem to some extent. Vehicle parking is another serious problem. This is worsened by some callous drivers parking in a haphazard manner. Such vehicles should be towed off immediately and handed over to the owner after getting an undertaking from them. Stray animals on the road and pedestrians refusing to use foot paths, zebra crossings and sub ways add to the traffic woes on the city roads. All these traffic problems can be solved only through efficient traffic management through the 4E’ – Education, Enforcement, Engineering and Enlisting Citizens’ support. Educating and instilling in young minds about traffic ethics and road safety, will be a carry away success. Enforcement of law by collecting spot fines can be another solution. Through Engineering, one-ways can be created and traffic areas can be increased depending on the traffic. Traffic-specific changes in signal timings by installing intelligent traffic signals which would change timings in accordance with the changing volume of traffic and installing CCTVs and PA systems at junctions would be a viable option. Long-term measured like computerizing traffic management and construction of more flyovers and subways should be undertaken by enlisting the cooperation and support to the public. Periodic health check ups for drivers and installation of convex mirrors at sharp bends as in done in factories would help reduce accidents to a great extent. These are some solutions to the numerous problems faced by commuters on the city roads.

Write a paragraph comparing laptop and desktop computers. (June2011) Laptop versus desktop is a dilemma for many users when come the times to buy a new computer. Until recently the issue about choosing between a tower/workstation and a laptop depended on the price you can afford to pay. And then you need to compare laptop and desktop to define a choice. PCs towers have always been the cheaper alternative –usually half the price for the same specs according to the statistics. Since the difference in the price is currently not so big, you should pay more attention to the advantages and disadvantages of each type of system in the laptop versus desktop debate. Advantage and disadvantage of the Laptop. The main advantage of the laptop is definitely its portability. You can put it into your bag and carry it everywhere. Besides, it has internal power source, i.e. you are not restricted to one place. Since the introduction of wireless broadband, and you do not even need a fixed line connection. The laptop can be taken in the office, in bed, on vacation. The drawback that the size has is that the display screens on laptop are usually only 15 inches (17” max). Another disadvantage of the laptops is that they haven’t got enough room for internal fans to cool the main CPU. With the creation of the dual-core CPU laptops can be expected to suffer failures because of overheating most often. Advantage and disadvantage of the Desktop. Apart from the convenient size and portability, laptops and notebooks have some other significant characteristics which may make you prefer them to towers. First comes the power supply. Desktop computers always have to be plugged into an AC Power outlet. In contrast to them, laptops are equipped with a rechargeable lithium, nickel-cadmium, or nickel-metal hydride battery, which adds to the advantage of portability. Laptop displays are very different from those of desktops since they make use of LCD technology, not a picture-tube. The displays of notebooks are smaller and usually have lower screen resolution but offer better color quality. The integration of input devices also makes a difference when you compare laptop versus desktop computer. The keyboard, you’ll use with a notebook, is situated into the body of the machine. This again contributes to portability but a damaged keyboard can be quite a problem. In fact, the main purposes for which desktop computers and laptops are created are different. Many business people really need to possess a notebook. The major inconvenience with towers is that they are situated at a defined workplace. One benefit Dr.S.MOHAN 23

certainly is that you can choose the size of the display screen. Moreover, you are free to add whatever extras you want, such as a speaker sound system, a joint printer/fax/copier scanner, a digital camera, DVD system. Another essential feature of a tower is that it is easy to upgrade. Laptops can be upgraded only by an expert, although there is not much space to add more components. On the contrary, you don’t need any expertise to upgrade a tower. Finally, having considered the most important features of both laptops vs towers statistics and having assessed their advantages and disadvantages, you can choose the one that will suit your needs and requirements best. However this will not put an end to the debate about laptop versus desktop. 17. Do you agree or disagree with the idea that science can be learnt through discuss education mode? Discuss your point with suitable examples. (June2011) Learning styles are various approaches or ways of learning. They involve educating methods, particular to an individual that are presumed to allow that individual to learn best. Most people prefer an identifiable method of interacting with, taking in, and processing stimuli or information. Based on this concept, the idea of individualized "learning styles" originated in the 1970s, and acquired "enormous popularity". Proponents of learning styles contend that teachers should assess the learning styles of their students and adapt their classroom methods to best fit each student's learning style--an approach that is often termed the 'meshing hypothesis. The empirical evidence underlying learning styles tests and theories has been severely criticized in recent years. Although children and adults will often express personal preferences, a recent review commissioned by the Association for Psychological Science was unable to uncover any evidence that tailoring instruction to these preferences actually produces any better learning outcomes (see discussion of The 2009 APS Critique below). Moreover, according to the same review, the few well-designed studies conducted in this area have tended to produce results that "flatly contradict the popular meshing hypothesis". Gregorc and Butler worked to organize a model describing how the mind works. This model is based on the existence of perceptions—our evaluation of the world by means of an approach that makes sense to us. These perceptions in turn are the foundation of our specific learning strengths, or learning styles. In this model, there are two perceptual qualities 1) concrete and 2) abstract; and two ordering abilities 1) random and 2) sequential. Concrete perceptions involve registering information through the five senses, while abstract perceptions involve the understanding of ideas, qualities, and concepts which cannot be seen. In regard to the two ordering abilities, sequential involves the organization of information in a linear, logical way and random involves the organization of information in chunks and in no specific order. Both of the perceptual qualities and both of the ordering abilities are present in each individual, but some qualities and ordering abilities are more dominant within certain individuals. There are four combinations of perceptual qualities and ordering abilities based on dominance: 1) Concrete Sequential; 2) Abstract Random; 3) Abstract Sequential; 4) Concrete Random. Individuals with different combinations learn in different ways—they Dr.S.MOHAN 24

have different strengths, different things make sense to them, different things are difficult for them, and they ask different questions throughout the learning process. Some critics of today's schools, of the concept of learning disabilities, , of special education, and of response to intervention, take the position that every child has a different learning style and pace and that each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding. Sudbury Model democratic schools assert that there are many ways to study and learn. They argue that learning is a process you do, not a process that is done to you. That is true of everyone; it's basic. The experience of Sudbury model democratic schools shows that there are many ways to learn without the intervention of teaching, to say, without the intervention of a teacher being imperative. In the case of reading for instance in the Sudbury model democratic schools, some children learn from being read to, memorizing the stories and then ultimately reading them. Others learn from cereal boxes, others from games instructions, and others from street signs. Some teach themselves letter sounds, others syllables, others whole words. Sudbury model democratic schools adduce that in their schools no one child has ever been forced, pushed, urged, cajoled, or bribed into learning how to read or write; and they have had no dyslexia. None of their graduates are real or functional illiterates and no one who meets their older students could ever guess the age at which they first learned to read or write. In a similar form students learn all the subjects, techniques, and skills in these schools. Gerald Coles asserts that there are partisan agendas behind the educational policy-makers and that the scientific research that they use to support their arguments regarding the teaching of literacy is flawed. These include the idea that there are neurological explanations for learning disabilities.

20.The survival of birds and animals is important to humanity. The Blue cross society has a major role in this regard. Comment on this in a paragraph of 200 words. (june/july-2009) The Blue cross is one of the major roles in society and also it has been giving the importance to Blue cross. According to human being, we are living to eat, but animals and birds are eating to live. There is no source for among the birds and animals. So the people don’t take care of birds and such like that natured living things environmental sciences. The importance of blue cross for creating the awareness and value of name to say the human mankind and also it has be followed by the group of people that they are also living with birds. Because all the animals and birds are having same beneficieries work related to the human being. Especially agriculture field most of the birds to help the farmers. We are having some pessimistic idea and concept of the blue cross and also red cross. Because they are having some rules and regulations to improve the quality of nature and the main reason of the cross the individual person to herd in the society for some human behavior, activities and also all the birds having some special, valuable aspirations in this world. If you go each, and every country other than India the importance will be given to nature. The nature is important to human being. All the people having some drawback of the regulations in society. And then all the people think about and comfortable life having to birds. We are following some conditions followed by the cross and society. Because everymen those kind of activities. In future will definitely think about safe of the nature and science for the human generations. Not only for the nature the both society and human culture belong to the world society and culture also to help the human being included all those things. Finally we concluded the human being will help to Blue cross and developing the country also main reason to adopting some natural disasters from that one. We are having safe and improving the society. 21.The importance of the alternative sources of energy like solar power, wind power and Hydro power is felt well in developed and developing countries. Substantiate your stance in a paragraph of 200 words.(june/july-2009) A nations development is measured by the growth of agriculture, industry and more importantly power generation. Electric power is universally required in the production of commodities and services and for their transportation. But the gap between demand and supply power in increasing due to phenomenal increase in consumption and constraints in the availability of fossil fuels. It is against this background that renewable non – conventional sources play a vital role and offer a long term solution for the problem. Renewable sources such as wind, bio mass and Dr.S.MOHAN 27

solar power have substantial and dependable potential to fill the gap that arise with the fast depletion of conventional fossil fuels.

Solar Power: Solar energy has the greatest potential of all the sources of renewal energy. If only a small amount of this form of energy could be used, it will be one of the most important supplies of energy especially when other sources in the country have depleted. Utilization of solar energy is greatly feasible in India because it lies in the tropical zone where sunlight is abundant for a major part of the year. Of the many successful applications of solar energy in use today, generation of electricity is the most significant one. Electricity can be produced from the solar energy by photovoltaic solar cells which convert the solar energy directly to electricity. In India electricity from solar energy has various useful applications such as energisation of pump sets for migration, drinking water supply and rural electrification covering street lights, community TV sets, medical refrigerators and other small power loads. In addition to the generation of electricity solar energy can also be used for, i.

Heating and cooling of residential building

ii.

Solar water heating

iii.

Solar energy of agricultural and animal products

iv.

Solar distillation

v.

Salt production

vi.

Solar cookers

vii.

Solar furnaces

Thus solar power proves to be the optimum reliable and economically unable source of energy which ensures pollution – see ‘green’ power generation. Wind Power: Wind energy is one of the low – investment and high yield group of power generation for world. Wind power generation has gained a high level of attention and acceptability as compared to other renewable technologies available in the country. Dr.S.MOHAN 28

37. Develop a paragraph with the following topic sentence in about 200 words: “Pollution which brings about undesirable changes in the environment is mainly of three types”. Pollution which brings about undesirable changes in the environment is mainly of three types-Air pollution, Water pollution and Hand / soil pollution. Dr.S.MOHAN 38

Air pollution is found to be the most deadliest of all because man lives on the oxygen got from the environment. But today, the air in the urban areas is polluted by the smoke from vehicles, smoke from chimneys of factories and smoke from fire produced by firewood for production of electricity, etc. To prevent these vehicles should be checked regularly. The public should use private transport or atleast share vehicles with other officegoers. People should avoid vehicles for short distances or try to use bicycle for that purpose. And more importantly, Chimneys in factories should be filled with proper filters. The second major pollution is water. People use water bodies for bathing the animals, washing clothes, etc. Factories through their waste in to the water bodies. Oil tankers which use the ocean for their transport spill large quantities of oil in the sea affecting aquatic life and the entire water is contaminated. To prevent this precaution should be taken by factories not to let their effluents into the water body. Individuals also should take care by not bathing the animals and washing clothes in rivers or lakes. Our mother earth is polluted by the deeds of human beings. They through plastics and garbage all over the place. They cut the forest and leave the land barren. Also the polluted water from factories are let into the land. To prevent disaster happening due to this, people should not through plastic and garbage. The waste should be segregated at the source and disposed off separately. Industrialists should take care to recycle the waste water and then let it out. People should be determined not to cut trees. Thus, these are the causes and solutions related to three types of pollution. Each individual should take responsibility to protect the earth we live and thus making it a better and hygienic place. 38. Write a paragraph comparing the computer with a human brain in about 200 words. jan-2009 Comparison between human brain and the Computer: A living brain can be thought of as a device for processing information. A computer is a man-made device for processing information. The human brain weighs about 1.5Kg whereas the weight of the computer varies from a few grams to tones. While blood glucose is the source of energy for the human brain, the computer works on the power drawn from the electricity. The human brain needs a fairly steady temperature for its effective function. On the other hand, the computer is not very sensitive to temperature changes. Both the human brain and the computer have same number of parts i.e. approximately 10”. The human brain has unlimited capacity for memory. Though the computer also has a vast memory power, its memory capacity is limited by technology. If the speed of calculation is compared between the human brain and the computer, computer is faster in calculation than human brain. However, a computer can never function on its own unless it is given commands for its operation. Though the computers today have ‘Artificial Intelligence’, no man- made device can ever match the wonderful functions of human brain.

39.write a paragraph of 200 words comparing and contrasting traditional classroom learning and e-learning.(jan-2011) In a classroom learning , it is a challenge to get an expedient turnover of information between the time it is released and the time the students learn it ,because in the middle are tainers that need to learn, understand and then disseminate the material ,as well as reprint and redistribute manuals. In an e- learning environment ,content can be changed quickly and then amployees can learn new information . people like having to connect with the course too. They like to feel that there is someone they can approach with question on the subject matter . it is familiar tyo sit in a class with an instructor. Most of these issue s are resolved in the design of any good e-learning course .so its not as much a case of a course being broken. The face of an e-learning course may not be an actual face, but more the over all look and feel of the design .there are also plenty of people who prefer traditional classroom instruction over e- learning because there is less responsibility on the part of the learner for acquiring the knowledge of the subject matter . class rooms are teachers driven, whereas an e-learning course is student driven. In the class rooms,it is easy to say the instructor didn’t cover that . when dealing with an e-learning course, all the information is there for learner, but it is up to learn the material . it is known what information the course contains and fro m the assessment it can be known what the students has learned.
