Each system is designed to remove hazardous exhaust to provide a healthier working environment. A key component to our systems is our sealed nozzle designs, the Grabber®. Simple to use, either our Pneumatic or Magnetic just attach the Grabber to the tailpipe ensuring a positive seal around the tailpipe, capturing and eliminating the chance that dangerous exhaust fumes will escape back into your station. With the Grabber, the Plymovent system can meet NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) recommended occupational exposure to carcinogens.(2)

THE DANGERS OF DIESEL EXHAUST The EPA has determined that the median diesel exhaust particle size is 0.2 microns and is typically not visible to the human eye – making diesel exhaust particles often smaller than what can be captured in on-board filters. In addition, toxic gases are not captured by particulate filters, and only partially by activated carbon filters.The Plymovent Source Capture System captures these particles and gases before they enter the station, and expels them to the outside.

Plymovent system is code compliant to IMC, UMC, NEC codes when system is properly designed, operated, serviced and maintained. The operation of exhaust extraction systems can be affected by various factors including proper design of the system, operating procedures, and service and maintenance. Exposure levels should be checked upon installation and periodically thereafter to ensure that they fall within applicable NIOSH and NFPA exposure limit values.

UNDER CARRIAGE TRACK SYSTEMS The Plymovent Sliding Balancer Track System (SBT) has set the standard for vehicle emissions control for fire and emergency response vehicles around the world. The SBT system is the preferred system for back-in and drive through apparatus bays, and is designed to connect to any motor vehicle tailpipe while capturing virtually 100% of the exhaust emissions. Completely code compliant(1), the SBT system is used in single, back-in bay applications where the vehicle tailpipe is within 60 feet of the door. Plus, it’s a fully automatic system, including fan activation and system disconnect from the exiting vehicle. All that is required is a one-step connection to the vehicle’s tailpipe as it enters the station. UNDER CARRIAGE RAIL SYSTEMS The Plymovent Straight Rail System (STR) is the preferred system for drive through apparatus bays. Designed to connect to any motor vehicle tailpipe, the STR captures virtually 100% of the exhaust emissions. This system is ideal for drive through bays or bays with up to four vehicles parked in tandem.There is a one-step connection to the system as the vehicle enters the station. UMC (Uniform Mechanical Code): “A mechanical ventilation or exhaust shall be installed to control, capture, and remove emissions generated.
