InBody 230 Body Composition Test The WLFC is offering body composition screenings using the InBody 230 machine at no cost to members. The InBody 230 is a screening tool that quickly measures body fat and muscle mass and only requires you to remove your shoes and socks. The results from the screening can help you understand how diet, exercise, and lifestyle habits affect your body composition. For the most accurate results, refrain from exercising, eating or drinking for at least 2 hours prior to the test. To schedule an assessment, contact Raymond Phillips 479-204-1034.

Nutrition Programs 10 Habits for a healthy weight:

To jump start your weight loss, follow the 10 habits as closely as possible every day. 1. Plan It: Plan meals, snacks, and exercise time at the start of each week. Planning ahead helps you better stick to your healthy routine. Being prepared can help you feel more in control and motivated to stick with it. 2. Measure It: Use a portion control method to measure out healthy amounts of foods. Watching portion sizes is an easy way to manage your weight without changing too many of the foods you enjoy eating. It can take as little as 100 fewer calories per day to lose 10 pounds this year! You can cut 100 calories easily by reducing portions to recommended sizes. 3. Jot It Down: Keep a record of all the food and drinks you consume, your daily physical activity, your weight each week, and your daily goal. Keeping records is one way to be accountable to yourself. It can also help you identify problem areas or patterns that you can change to be more successful. 4. Move More: The more active you are, the more calories you burn. The more calories you burn, the faster you can achieve your healthy weight. 5. Pick Produce: Hungry? Choose only vegetables and fruits as snack options. When you think about a healthy diet, vegetables and fruits are sure to come to mind. They provide essential vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that you just can’t get from a supplement! Vegetables and fruits are especially great when cutting calories because they are low in calories, high in fiber, and full of water, which keep you full and satisfied longer.

Basic Nutrition Program (PNP) Meet with a nutritionist to create a healthy eating plan personalized to meet your goals and health needs. A variety of nutrition programs are available to help you get started:

6. Skip the Screens: This habit has 2 parts to follow. • Earn it: Allow yourself only as much “leisure” screen time as time you spend exercising. • Tune in: No screens during meals. This includes TV, computer, tablet, e-readers and phones! Unless you exercise while you are in front of a screen, chances are you’re not moving and may even be more tempted to snack. Earn your screen time before you use it, or better yet, exercise while watching your favorite shows. Try to avoid screens during meals. This allows you to focus on the meal experience and be more aware of your portions. 7. Rise, Dine & Shine: Eat a healthy breakfast, every day! Among people who have successfully lost weight and kept it off, the majority eat breakfast daily. Adults who skip breakfast tend to weigh more than breakfast eaters. Eating breakfast fires up your metabolism and gives you the energy to start the day right. 8. Surrender the Sweets: Cut out the sources of added sugar in your diet. Sugar is not bad. It just adds extra calories without adding extra nutrition. For this habit, cutting out sources of added sugar, will help you cut out many types of high calorie junk food. 9. Dine In: Prepare meals at home as often as possible. When you prepare meals at home, you have control over the ingredients, and ultimately the nutrition of your meal. You are also better able to control the portions served. Even better, preparing meals saves money! 10. Keep It Real: Choose less processed foods as often as possible.

It’s not too late to compete in the Fall/Winter ZP Challenge!

ZP is a friendly competition designed to inspire each of us to make better decisions in our daily lives. There’s a truth in life - nothing stays the same. When you ZP, you simply “make a better choice today than you did yesterday.” With ZP, you get to choose which challenge you want to do, how you want to do it and when you want to do it! Zp Challenge booklets can be found in associate breakrooms. Complete 4-weeks of better choices, submit your entry, and you’re eligible for a chance to win a share of $125,000 prize pool in the form of a dream experience. Join our Spring Champions in making small changes to be a better you. Congratulations to Grand Champions Angie Summerlin and Carol Newborn for winning a $25,000 dream experience each. And Congratulations to Jessica Stidman from the Home Office who is a $5,000 prize winner.
