Hello! E

very so often, something comes along that captures our hearts. Who could resist the the cute, quirky antics of meerkats? Millions of us have loved the TV nature shows (and a certain insurance company’s adverts), so it’s high time we got to enjoy these comical creatures on our cards too. We’ve commissioned an exclusive set of illustrations for you to print out and colour for every occasion. For fun birthdays and more, turn to page 36 to start crafting your very own meerkat cards. We all love it if we can be thrifty and find new card making supplies around the house. This month we’ve come across a real treat – the humble rubber band! Turn to page 32 to find out how to embellish your cards in this great new way. Have fun!

Give a gorgeous zig-zag design Follow the guides on your Scoring Board to turn an A4 sheet into a stunning zig-zag card! Add texture with rows of embossed borders – score three in a row for a chic effect. Finish your card with a cheeky folded corner – add a triangle of contrasting coloured card to make it stand out!

*see page 87 for stockists

tip ✿ Use your especially-designed bone folder in two ways! First use the point to score your fold line, then once you’ve closed your card blank, use the bone folder’s flat edge to press the fold so it’s nice and crisp.

Score a frame for paper flowers Deboss a subtle frame for a layered flower design. Mark the middle of the top edge of your card, then turn and score until you’ve created the four sides of your frame shape. Flip the card over to score contrasting embossed borders.

Stepper cards made easy! Make a stepper card without measuring! The Scoring Board has grooves marked ‘Stepper Card’, so it’s easy to fold up this 3D delight! Decorate with patterned paper and ribbon, and dress up your greeting with scored borders.

Fold up easy concertina blooms You’ll love making concertina flowers with your Scoring Board – see the step-by-step guide below to learn how it’s done. Use glue dots to add stacked button centres and fix your flowers to cards and gift tags.

How to score & fold a quick concertina flower!

1

Cut a 12in paper strip and score along its length – use the narrow grooves at the left of the board, scoring every second groove.

2

Fold up the paper strip, concertina-style! Add a thin strip of double-sided tape to the final 1cm section.

3

Stick the ends of the paper strip together to make a circle. Add a glue dot to the centre and stick a button in place to finish.
