NCAA DIVISION I COACHES RECRUITING GUIDE – SPORTS OTHER THAN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL Effective August 1, 2016 DEFINITIONS Contact A contact is any face-to-face encounter between a prospective student-athlete (PSA) or the PSA’s parents, relatives or legal guardian(s) and an institutional staff member or athletics representative during which any dialogue occurs in excess of an exchange of a greeting. Any such face-to-face encounter that is prearranged (e.g., staff member positions himself/herself in a location where contact is possible) or that takes place on the grounds of the PSA’s educational institution or at the site of organized competition or practice involving the PSA or the PSA’s high school, preparatory school, two-year college or all-star team shall be considered a contact, regardless of whether any conversation occurs. However, an institutional staff member or athletics representative who is approached by a PSA or the PSA’s parents, relatives or legal guardian(s) at any location shall not use a contact, provided the encounter was not prearranged and the staff member or athletics representative does not engage in any dialogue in excess of a greeting and takes appropriate steps to immediately terminate the encounter. Evaluation Evaluation is any off-campus activity designed to assess the academic qualifications or athletics ability of a PSA, including any visit to a PSA’s educational institution (during which no contact occurs) or the observation of a PSA participating in any practice or competition at any site. Evaluation Days An evaluation day is defined as one coach engaged in the evaluation of any PSA on one day (12:01 a.m. to midnight); two coaches making evaluations on the same day shall use two evaluation days. Recruited PSA Actions by staff members or athletics representatives that cause a PSA to become a recruited PSA at that institution are: a. Providing the PSA with an official visit; b. Having an arranged, in-person, off-campus encounter with the PSA or the PSA’s parent(s), relatives or legal guardian(s); c. Initiating or arranging a telephone contact with the PSA, the PSA’s relatives or legal guardian(s) on more than one occasion for the purpose of recruitment; or d. Issuing a National Letter of Intent (NLI) or the institution’s written offer of athletically related financial aid to the PSA (excluding summer term awards prior to initial full-time enrollment). Telephone Calls All electronically transmitted human voice exchange (including videoconferencing and videophones) shall be considered telephone calls. All electronically transmitted correspondence (e.g., electronic mail, Instant Messenger, facsimiles, text messages) shall not be considered telephone calls. CONTACTS, EVALUATIONS AND TELEPHONE CALLS Off-Campus Recruiters An institutional staff member is not permitted to recruit off campus until he or she has been certified on an annual basis as to knowledge of applicable recruiting rules. Telephone Calls During Conduct of an Institution's Athletics Contest Telephone calls to a PSA (or the PSA’s relatives or legal guardians) may not be made during the conduct of any of the institution’s intercollegiate athletics contests in that sport from the time the institution’s team reports on call at the competition site at the direction of the coach until the competition has concluded and the team has been dismissed by the coach. Telephone Calls - Institutional Staff Members - General Rule All telephone calls made to PSAs (or the PSAs’ parents, legal guardians or coaches) must be made by the head coach or one or more of the assistant coaches who count toward the numerical limitations in that sport. Visits to a PSA’s Educational Institution Visits to a PSA’s educational institution that will occur during that portion of the day when classes are being conducted for all students must receive the approval of the executive officer (or the executive officer's designated representative) of the PSA’s educational institution. Counting Contacts and Evaluations Evaluations that occur during the academic year count against the permissible number of recruiting opportunities, except for evaluations that occur on the same day as a permissible contact. Outside of the academic year, evaluations do not count against the annual number of recruiting opportunities. Contacts that occur with a PSA count against the permissible number of total recruiting opportunities regardless of the time period (e.g., academic year or outside the academic year). All contacts and evaluations are subject to recruiting calendar restrictions. Contact at PSA’s Practice or Competition Site Recruiting contact may not be made with a PSA prior to any athletics competition (including a noninstitutional, private camp or clinic, but not an institutional camp or clinic) in which the PSA is a participant during the day or days of competition, even if the PSA is on an official or unofficial visit. Contact includes the passing of notes or orally relaying information to a PSA by a third party on behalf of an institutional staff member. Contact shall not be made with the PSA as follows:

NCAA DIVISION I COACHES RECRUITING GUIDE – SPORTS OTHER THAN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL Effective August 1, 2016 a. At any site prior to the contest on the day or days of competition; b. From the time the PSA reports on call (at the direction of his or her coach or comparable authority) and becomes involved in competition-related activity to the end of the competition even if such competition-related activities are initiated prior to the day or days of competition; and c. After the competition, including competition that requires more than one day of participation (e.g., a tournament), until the PSA is released by the appropriate institutional authority and departs the dressing and meeting facility. Visit (Without Contact) to PSA’s Educational Institution A visit (without contact) by a coaching staff member to a PSA’s educational institution counts as an evaluation for all PSAs in that sport at that educational institution. Evaluations Are Sport Specific The limitations on the number of evaluations are sport specific; therefore, a PSA being earnestly recruited by an institution in more than one sport may be evaluated on the permissible number of occasions in each of those sports during the academic year. Evaluations are counted against the sport of the coach making the evaluation. Exception: Recruiting Opportunities in Cross Country and Track and Field An institution is limited to a total of seven recruiting opportunities (contacts and evaluations combined) during the academic year during which the PSA competes in any or all of the sports of cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field, provided not more than three of the opportunities are contacts (contacts are permissible during the senior year only). Evaluations in Team Sports In team sports, an institution shall use an evaluation for each PSA participating in a practice or contest observed by the institution’s coach, except for an evaluation that occurs on the same day as permissible contact. An institution’s coach who is attending an event in which PSAs from multiple educational institutions participate in drills (e.g., combine) shall use an evaluation only for each PSA participating in the event that the coach observes engaging in the drills. Evaluations in Individual Sports An institution’s coach who is attending a practice or event in which PSAs from multiple institutions participate in drills (e.g., combine) or competition in an individual sport on a specific day shall use an evaluation only for those participants that the coach observes engaging in practice or competition. The evaluation is not counted for a particular PSA if a contact is made with that PSA during the same day. Tournament Evaluations Evaluation during each day of a tournament held during the academic year shall count as a separate evaluation except as follows: a. Evaluation of multiple contests in a tournament that occurs on consecutive days (and normally at the same site) shall count as a single evaluation; b. Evaluation of multiple contests in a single tier of a tournament (e.g., sectional, district, regional) shall count as a single observation. If a particular tier of a tournament is subdivided into identifiable segments (e.g., conducted on different weekends), evaluation of contests in each identifiable segment counts as a single observation. Other Multiday Events Evaluations at a multiple-day event (e.g., jamboree, round robin, showcase) constitute separate evaluations for each day of the event unless the event is conducted in a tournament format in which a winner of the event is determined. Evaluations/Contact at PSA’s Educational Institution If a coach makes an in-person recruiting contact at a PSA’s educational institution, all evaluations (other than observations of athletically related activities) made on that calendar day at the PSA’s educational institution shall not count among the permissible number of evaluations for any PSA at that institution in the applicable sport. Communication After Commitment The restrictions on the forms and frequency of communication shall no longer apply after: (1) the PSA signs an NLI or the institution’s written offer of admission and/or financial aid; or (2) the institution receives a financial deposit in response to the institution’s offer of admission.

Any evaluation that occurs during a contact period by a coaching staff member is a countable contact rather than a countable evaluation. Evaluation Days An evaluation day is defined as one coach engaged in the evaluation of any PSA on one day (12:01 a.m. to midnight); two coaches making evaluations on the same day shall use two evaluation days. The combined total of such days for all staff members shall not exceed 210 (270 for U.S. service academies) [42 during the fall evaluation period (54 for U.S. service academies) and 168 during the spring evaluation period (216 for U.S. service academies)]. NCAA DIVISION I FOOTBALL OFF-CAMPUS RECRUITING GUIDE Effective August 1, 2016 Telephone Calls During Conduct of Athletics Contest Telephone calls to a PSA (or the PSA’s relatives or legal guardians) may not be made during the conduct of any of the institution’s intercollegiate athletics contests in that sport until the competition has concluded and the team has been dismissed by the coach. Telephone Calls -- Institutional Staff Members -- General Rule All telephone calls to a PSA (or the PSA’s parents, legal guardians or coaches) must be made by the head coach or one or more of the assistant coaches who count toward the numerical limitations in football. In bowl subdivision football, such calls may be made and received by a graduate assistant coach, provided the coach has successfully completed the coaches’ certification examination. Visits to a PSA’s Educational Institution Institutional staff members may visit a PSA’s educational institution on not more than one occasion during a particular week within a contact period, regardless of the number of PSAs enrolled in the institution or whether any PSA is contacted on that occasion. During a contact period, such a visit counts as a contact for all contactable PSAs that attend the educational institution. PSA’s Educational Institution Any staff member desiring to contact a PSA at the PSA’s educational institution during that portion of the day when classes are being conducted for all students, first shall obtain permission for such contact from that institution’s chancellor or president (or the chancellor or president’s or authorized representative). Head Football Coach Restrictions -- Off-Campus Contact -- Football Bowl Subdivision The head coach may make in-person, off-campus contact with a PSA or the PSA’s relatives or legal guardian(s) only during one calendar day. It is permissible for this contact to occur both at the site of the PSA’s educational institution and away from the institutional grounds. During such contact, the head coach may be accompanied by an assistant(s) who otherwise is required to observe the restrictions contained in the bylaws. Assistant Coach Publicly Designated as Institution’s Next Head Coach - Football Bowl Subdivision An institution’s assistant coach who has been publicly designated by the institution to become its next head coach shall be subject to the recruiting restrictions applicable to the institution's head coach. Visits During Contact Period One contact per PSA is permitted during each week of the contact period either at the PSA’s educational institution or any other location (e.g., PSA’s home). A visit to the PSA’s educational institution and any other location (e.g., PSA’s home) during the same calendar day shall be considered one contact. In addition, institutional staff members may visit a PSA’s educational institution on not more than one occasion during a particular week, regardless of the total number of PSAs enrolled in the institution. Practice or Competition Site Recruiting contact may not be made with a PSA prior to any athletics competition in which the PSA is a participant during the day or days of competition, even if the PSA is on an official or unofficial visit. Contact includes the passing of notes or orally relaying information to a PSA by a third party on behalf of an institutional staff member. Contact shall not be made with the PSA as follows: a. At any site prior to the contest on the day or days of competition; b. From the time the PSA reports on call and becomes involved in competition-related activity to the end of the competition; and c. After the competition, including competition that requires more than one day of participation (e.g., a tournament), until the PSA is released by the appropriate institutional authority and departs the dressing and meeting facility. Communication After Commitment The restrictions on the forms and frequency of communication shall no longer apply after: (1) the PSA signs an NLI or the institution’s written offer of admission and/or financial aid; or (2) the institution receives a financial deposit in response to the institution’s offer of admission. Athletics Events Outside Contact Period In-person contact with a PSA shall not be made on or off the member institution’s campus at the site of practice or competition or for any athletics event in which the PSA participates outside the permissible contact periods. When a PSA participates in an athletics contest or event (including a noninstitutional, private camp or clinic) on a member institution’s campus outside of a contact period, it is not permissible for an authorized institutional staff member to have contact with the PSA until the calendar day following his or her release from the competition. Further, if a PSA is visiting an institution’s campus immediately before or after participating in an athletics contest or event on the institution’s campus, the PSA must depart the locale of the institution the calendar day before or after the contest or event. Limitations on Number of Evaluations Institutional staff members shall be limited to three evaluations during the academic year during which the PSA competes or practices on any team. Not more than one evaluation may be used during the fall evaluation period and not more than two evaluations may be used during the April 15 through May 31 evaluation period. An authorized off-campus recruiter may use one evaluation to assess the PSA’s athletics ability and one evaluation to assess the PSA’s academic qualifications during the April 15 through May 31 evaluation period. If an institution’s coaching staff member conducts both an athletics and an academic evaluation of a PSA on the same day during the April 15 through May 31 evaluation period, the institution shall be charged with the use of an academic evaluation only and shall be permitted to conduct a second athletics evaluation of the PSA on a separate day during the April 15 through May 31 evaluation period.

NCAA DIVISION I FOOTBALL OFF-CAMPUS RECRUITING GUIDE Effective August 1, 2016 Spring Evaluations Institutional staff members may not visit a PSA’s educational institution on more than two-calendar days during the spring evaluation period. It is permissible during the evaluation period to visit a PSA’s educational institution on two-calendar days during the same week. A visit to the PSA’s educational institution that only includes contact with a signed PSA during the spring evaluation period shall be considered one of the institution’s two permissible days at the institution. In bowl subdivision football, the head coach shall not engage in off-campus recruiting activities, participate in off-campus coaching clinics, visit a PSA’s educational institution for any reason, or meet with a PSA’s coach at an off-campus location during the April 15 through May 31 evaluation period. Scholastic and Nonscholastic Activities -- Football Bowl Subdivision In bowl subdivision football, all live evaluations shall be limited to the following: a. An institutional staff member shall not attend an all-star contest or other activities associated with such a contest (e.g., practice, banquets, coaches clinics, etc.). Scholastic and Nonscholastic Activities - Football Championship Subdivision In championship subdivision football, live athletics evaluations may be conducted at scholastic or nonscholastic athletics activities, except for all-star contests and associated activities other than practice (e.g., banquets, coaches clinics, etc.), provided there is no institutional involvement in arranging or directing such activities. An institutional staff member may attend a recruiting event (other than a permissible live athletics event) in which information (e.g., athletics or academic credentials, highlight or combine video) related to PSAs is presented or otherwise made available. An institutional staff member shall not attend an all-star contest or activities, other than practice, associated with such a contest (e.g., banquet, coaches clinics, etc.). DEFINITIONS Contact A contact is any face-to-face encounter between a prospective student-athlete (PSA) or the PSA's parents, relatives or legal guardians and an institutional staff member or athletics representative during which any dialogue occurs in excess of an exchange of a greeting. Any such face-to-face encounter that is prearranged (e.g., staff member positions himself/herself in a location where contact is possible) or that takes place on the grounds of the PSA's educational institution or at the site of organized competition or practice involving the PSA or the PSA's high school, preparatory school, two-year college or all-star team shall be considered a contact, regardless of whether any conversation occurs. However, an institutional staff member or athletics representative who is approached by a PSA or the PSA's parents, relatives or legal guardians at any location shall not use a contact, provided the encounter was not prearranged and the staff member or athletics representative does not engage in any dialogue in excess of a greeting and takes appropriate steps to immediately terminate the encounter. Evaluation Evaluation is any off-campus activity designed to assess the academic qualifications or athletics ability of a PSA, including any visit to a PSA's educational institution (during which no contact occurs) or the observation of a PSA participating in any practice or competition at any site. Recruiting-Person Days A recruiting-person day is defined as one coach engaged in an off-campus recruiting activity of a PSA, including a PSA who has signed a National Letter of Intent (or the institution's written offer of admission and/or financial aid), on one day (12:01 a.m. to midnight); two coaches engaged in recruiting activities on the same day shall use two recruiting-person days. Recruited PSA Actions by staff members or athletics representatives that cause a PSA to become a recruited PSA at that institution are: a. Providing the PSA with an official visit; b. Having an arranged, in-person, off-campus encounter with the PSA or the PSA's parents, relatives or legal guardians; c. Initiating or arranging a telephone contact with the PSA, the PSA's relatives or legal guardians on more than one occasion for the purpose of recruitment; and d. Issuing a National Letter of Intent or the institution's written offer of athletically related financial aid to the PSA (excluding summer term awards prior to initial full-time enrollment).

NCAA DIVISION I WOMEN’S BASKETBALL RECRUITING GUIDE Effective August 1, 2016 Telephone Calls All electronically transmitted human voice exchange (including videoconferencing and videophones) shall be considered telephone calls. Off-Campus Recruiters An institutional staff member is not permitted to recruit off campus until he or she has been certified on an annual basis as to knowledge of applicable recruiting rules. Telephone Calls During Conduct of Athletics Contest Telephone calls to a PSA (or the PSA's relatives or legal guardians) may not be made during the conduct of any of the institution's intercollegiate athletics contests in that sport until the competition has concluded and the team has been dismissed by the coach. Telephone Calls -- Institutional Staff Members -- General Rule All telephone calls to a PSA (or the PSA's parents, legal guardians or coaches) must be made by the head coach or one or more of the assistant coaches who count toward the numerical limitations in women's basketball. Visits to a PSA's Educational Institution Institutional staff members may visit a PSA's educational institution on not more than one occasion during a particular week within a contact or evaluation period, regardless of the number of PSAs enrolled in the institution or whether any PSA is contacted on that occasion. During the July evaluation period, there are no limitations on the number of times an institutional staff member may visit a PSA's educational institution. Tournament Exception Visiting a PSA's educational institution on consecutive days during a particular week to observe a tournament or tier of a tournament shall count as a single visit. Counting Contacts and Evaluations Evaluations that occur during the academic year count against the permissible number of recruiting opportunities. PSA's Educational Institution Any staff member desiring to contact a PSA at the PSA's educational institution first shall obtain permission for such contact from that institution's executive officer (or the executive officer's authorized representative). Contact may not be made during the time of the day when classes are in session. For two-year colleges that conduct classes throughout the day, contact may not be made until after 4 p.m. local time and the prospective student-athlete shall not miss class for such contact. Contact and communication restrictions are as follows: a. No in-person contact with a PSA or the PSA's relatives or legal guardians during the day of the PSA's competition (e.g., before and after the competition). b. During the July evaluation periods, all communication with a PSA, the PSA's relatives or legal guardians, the PSA's coach or any individual associated with the PSA as a result of the PSA's participation in basketball, directly or indirectly, is prohibited unless the PSA has signed a National Letter of Intent or institutional written offer of admission and/or financial aid or the institution has received a financial deposit in response to the institution's offer of admission. Athletics Events Outside Contact Period In-person contact with a PSA shall not be made on or off the institution's campus at the site of practice or competition or for any athletics event in which the PSA participates outside the permissible contact periods. When a PSA participates in an athletics contest or event (including a noninstitutional, private camp or clinic) on an institution's campus outside of a contact period, it is not permissible for an authorized institutional staff member to have contact with the PSA until the calendar day following his or her release from the competition. Further, if a PSA is visiting an institution's campus immediately before or after participating in an athletics contest or event on the institution's campus, the PSA must depart the locale of the institution the calendar day before or after the contest or event. Academic Year Evaluation Period Evaluations during the academic year may occur at regularly scheduled high school, preparatory school and two-year college contests/tournaments and practices; regular scholastic activities involving PSAs enrolled at the institution where the regular scholastic activities occur; and evaluations at nonscholastic events during the PSA's academic year during the last full weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) of the fall contact period and the weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) of the spring evaluation periods. Evaluations at nonscholastic events and noninstitutional camps or clinics that occur on a Division I campus are prohibited. July Evaluation Periods During the July evaluation periods, an institution's basketball coaching staff may attend institutional basketball camps and noninstitutional organized events (e.g., camps, leagues, tournaments and festivals) that are certified. Evaluations at nonscholastic events and noninstitutional camps or clinics that occur on a Division I campus are prohibited. Events Not Subject to Certification Program. During any contact or evaluation period, an institutional coaching staff member may attend noninstitutional organized events that are approved, sponsored or conducted by an applicable state, national or international governing body and are not organized and conducted primarily for a recruiting purpose (e.g., intrastate and interstate high school basketball games, state high school all-star games, international competitions and practices associated with such contests). A coaching staff member shall not attend events that are approved, sponsored or conducted by an applicable state, national or international governing body but are organized and conducted primarily for a recruiting purpose, unless such events are certified per Bylaw 13.18. intra.ncaa.org/sites/ama/Information/Recruiting Calendars and Guides/2016-17/DI/Guides/Women's Basketball Guide.docx/LZ:kh_052716

Recruiting Definitions Contact A contact occurs any time a coach has any face-to-face contact with a prospective studentathlete, or a PSA’s parents off the college's campus and says more than hello. A contact also occurs if a coach has any contact with the PSA or the PSA’s parents at their high school or any location where the PSA is competing or practicing. Contact Period During this time, a college coach may have in-person contact with a PSA and/or a PSA’s parents on or off the college's campus. The coach may also watch the PSA play or visit the PSA’s high school. The PSA and/or PSA’s parents may visit a college campus and the coach may write and telephone the PSA or their parents during this period. Dead Period The college coach may not have any in-person contact with a PSA or a PSA’s parents at any time in the dead period. The coach may write and telephone the PSA or their parents during this time. Evaluation An evaluation is an activity by a coach to evaluate the PSA’s academic or athletics ability. This would include visiting the PSA’s high school or watching the PSA practice or compete. Evaluation Period The college coach may watch a PSA play or visit the PSA’s high school, but cannot have any inperson conversations with the PSA and/or the PSA’s parents off the college's campus. The PSA and/or the PSA’s parents can visit a college campus during this period. A coach may write and telephone the PSA and their parents during this time. Official Visit Any visit to a college campus by the PSA paid for by the college. The college may pay the following expenses: • The PSA’s transportation to and from the college; • Room and meals (three per day) while the PSA is visiting the college; and • Reasonable entertainment expenses, including complimentary admissions to a home athletics contest. Before any official visit, the PSA will have to provide the college with a copy of their high school transcript (Division I only) and register with the NCAA Eligibility Center. Prospective Student-Athlete You become a “prospective student-athlete” when: • You start ninth-grade classes; or • Before your ninth-grade year, a college gives you, your relatives or your friends any financial aid or other benefits that the college does not provide to students generally.

Quiet Period The college coach may not have any in-person contact with a PSA or their parents off the college's campus. The coach may not watch a PSA play or visit their high school during this period. The PSA and/or their parents may visit a college campus during this time. A coach may write or telephone the PSA and/or their parents during this time. Unofficial Visit Any visit by a PSA to a college campus paid for by the PSA. The only expense a PSA may receive from the college is complimentary admissions to a home athletics contest. The PSA may make as many unofficial visits as they like and may take those visits at any time. The only time a PSA cannot talk with a coach during an unofficial visit is during a dead period.

Registration

Eligibility Center Procedures

Upon registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center, all Admissions, Graduation Data, Banned Drug List and Initial Eligibility Standards are provided to the student-athlete. Once a prospective student-athlete registers with the NCAA Eligibility Center (including payment or fee-waiver request), he or she will be assigned a task with links to the NCAA Banned Drug List (including information about nutritional supplements), and the initialeligibility standards. Like other assigned tasks, once the information has been reviewed, it is important the prospective student-athlete mark the task (located on his or her "My Planner" page) as complete. Any open tasks could delay the certification process.

Activation on IRL Once a prospective student-athlete is registered with the Eligibility Center, an institution can active them on their Institutional Request List (IRL). PSA’s are activated in the Compliance Office. This is not the responsibility of the coach. • A coach may submit activation requests via email, Official Visit Pre-Approval Forms, or verbally to the Compliance Office. Please include an NCAA ID# with all activation requests. • All PSA’s with whom coaches are actively and seriously recruiting can be activated to ensure compliance with NCAA rules. It is important that any international PSA’s be activated upon initial recruitment. • PSA’s must be activated to come on an Official Visit or sign an NLI or Grant-InAid. Once the prospective student-athlete is activated, they will be assigned a second task with the links to the information in the NCAA Disclosure Report (admissions and graduation-rate data, Academic Progress Rate, Graduation Success Rate and Academic Success Rate for Division II). Like other assigned tasks, once the information has been reviewed, it is important the prospective student-athlete mark the task (located on his or her "My Planner" page) as complete. Any open tasks could delay the certification process.

On-Campus Evaluations—Men’s and Women’s Basketball ONLY PROCEDURES: 1. Coach will submit the On-Campus Evaluation (OCE) Pre-Approval Form 72 hours prior to the prospective student-athlete’s arrival on campus. The Coach must indicate on the approval form which conditions of the bylaw apply, and obtain the appropriate signature from Sports Medicine. 2. The Compliance Office will ensure the OCE meets the applicable bylaw conditions, and sign and return OCE pre-approval to the coach.

Bylaw 13.11.2.1: In basketball, an institution may conduct an evaluation of a prospective student-athlete on its campus or at a site at which it normally conducts practice or competition, under the following conditions: (Adopted: 1/14/12, Revised: 1/19/13) (a) For a high school or preparatory school senior, the evaluation may be conducted only after the conclusion of the prospective student-athlete's season and after he/she has exhausted high school or preparatory school eligibility in basketball; (b) For a two-year college prospective student-athlete, the evaluation may be conducted only after the conclusion of the prospective student-athlete's season and he/she has exhausted his/her two-year college eligibility in basketball; (c) For a four-year college prospective student-athlete, the evaluation may be conducted only after the conclusion of the prospective student-athlete's season. (See Bylaw 13.1.1.3); (d) The on-campus evaluation may be conducted only during the prospective student-athlete's official or unofficial visit; (e) The on-campus evaluation shall be conducted not later than the opening day of classes of the institution's fall term; (f) Not more than one on-campus evaluation per prospective student-athlete per institution shall be permitted (applied separately to the time period in which a prospective student-athlete completes high school or preparatory school eligibility and to the time period after the prospective student-athlete enrolls full time in a collegiate institution); (g) Before participating in an on-campus evaluation, a prospective student-athlete is required to undergo a medical examination or evaluation administered or supervised by a physician (e.g., family physician, team physician). The examination or evaluation shall include a sickle cell solubility test unless documented results of a prior test are provided to the institution or the prospective student-athlete declines the test and signs a written release. The examination or evaluation must be administered either within six months before participation in the on-campus evaluation or within six months before the

prospective student-athlete's initial participation in practice, competition or out-of-season conditioning activities during his immediately completed season. In addition, the medical examination or evaluation may be conducted by an institution's regular team physician or other designated physician as a part of the on-campus evaluation; (h) The institution's basketball student-athletes may participate in an on-campus evaluation, provided such participation is counted toward the applicable hourly and weekly limitations on countable athletically related activities (e.g., four hours per day and 20 hours per week during the playing season, two hours of skill instruction and eight hours per week outside the playing season). [See Bylaws 17.1.7.2-(a) and 17.1.7.2.2]; (i) The duration of the on-campus evaluation activities (other than the medical examination or evaluation) shall be limited to two hours; and (j) The institution may provide equipment and clothing to a prospective student-athlete on an issuanceand-retrieval basis.
