Professional Foreign Languages F+U – an international education provider Founded in 1980 in Heidelberg, the F+U group has 25 teaching centres in Germany, as well as several international schools and cooperation partners, and today is one of the largest private education providers in Europe. We offer an international University of Cooperative Education with 8 study centres, secondary schools (Gymnasium, Realschule), preparatory colleges, vocational schools and language schools with international test centres, as well as an extensive spectrum of continuing education programmes. Your programme takes place at the Academy of Languages in Heidelberg. The Academy can look back over 30 years of successful teaching. Every year, over 5,000 students participate in the language courses and training programmes at the Academy, while our programme is rounded off by our “worldwide language tours”.

It goes without saying that the main teaching focus is on languages. However, we are well aware that foreign language training will enhance your career prospects only in conjunction with a commercial orientation. For this reason, we are one of the few schools to offer the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Industrie- und Handelskammer - IHK) examinations. During the course of your studies, you have the opportunity to opt for one of these final examinations.

Bachelor Top-Up (rdi)

Practical training – the foundation for your professional success

The Foreign Language Correspondence Clerk, European Secretary and Translator programmes open up varied, interesting and, above all, future-proof career opportunities. This is because you integrate both foreign languages and commercial training, thereby earning a highly sought-after dual qualification. At the same time, you are competent in all aspects of secretarial administration, as well as the application of Information Technology.

We offer students who have successfully completed our training programme the opportunity to earn a bachelor degree in Business Studies through a 14-month distance-learning programme. The bachelor title (rdi) is awarded by renowned universities in England and is the equivalent to a university degree in the Federal Republic of Germany. For admission to the bachelor programme you will need the Higher National Diploma (HND). We prepare you for this examination – parallel to your training – in additional afternoon lessons.

The Higher National Diploma (rdi) – an independent qualification The Higher National Diploma (HND) can also be earned independently of the bachelor degree. Unlike the German foundation studies (Grundstudium), the British HND is recognised in its own right as an academic qualification with a commercial orientation. Therefore, the qualification is particularly attractive to anyone wishing to work abroad in an Englishspeaking country.
