Whether Rotogravure, Flexography or Offset — PrintSTAR runs special algorithms and can detect defects particular to all processes. Blanket issues in offset are quickly identified and for rotogravure we use our ASD chipset to see drags and streaks before the operator could visualize them. Reduce waste and increase throughput MultiView provides that capability to inspect coatings, cold seal, varnish or hot foil. It also allows the extension of the system to double sided inspection. PrintSTAR enables the user to view all live views simultaneously in real-time.

ColorWatch is an online densitometry package that, as an option, can be added to the standard detection system. It enables the operator to set up areas in the reference image to be monitored. For each area, the color is averaged and a comparison is done in the Lab color space. Each area has it´s own trend graph which shows the color deviation in DE (Lab) for all repeats. Alarming levels can also be defined. • Verify that the color does not change over a long run, despite top ups and ink barrel changes. • Verify that the color on the graphic is not being altered by changes to one of the primary colors. • Subtle color defects such as hazing, fogging or smearing can be detected before it becomes visible to the human eye and starts generating waste.

PrintTrack enables the tracking of features on a graphic or between graphics added at different processes or sides of the web. Using multiple banks of cameras, PrintTrack can be used for registration monitoring. Alarms can be set on limits. PrintTrack includes the ability to output the measurements between two set points on the same image to provide accurate repeat or stretch data on the image. • It enables print to print registration measurement from different camera views. • It enables repeat to repeat monitoring. • It allows trending and multiple trigger alarms to guarantee package specifications are not being exceeded that would cause problems at your customers packing line.

You can introduce the 1 Up that the customer provided you with the package design, or the actual image of the plates or cylinders derived from that 1 Up. QuickProof will read the file, convert it to an acceptable format and then use advanced image processing techniques to verify the “Golden Reference”. It will highlight any differences allowing the user to accept or reject.
