Easter Sunday April 4, 2010 Chiming of the Hour Welcome/Announcements/Opening Prayer Prelude *Proclamation Of The Easter Gospel *Congregational Response: Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen indeed! (Repeated X3)

Rev. Tammy Jackson John 20:1-18

*Processional Hymn “Christ The Lord Is Risen Today” No. 302 *An Easter Affirmation This is the good news which we have received, in which we stand, and by which we are saved: Christ died for our sins, was buried, was raised on the third day, and appeared first to the women, then to Peter and the Twelve, and then to many faithful witnesses. We believe Jesus is the Christ, the Anointed One of God, the firstborn of all creation, the firstborn from the dead, in whom all things hold together, in whom the fullness of God was pleased to dwell by the power of the Spirit. Christ is the head of the body, the church, and by the blood of the cross reconciles all things to God. Amen. *The Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen. Song of Worship

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. The Offertory Anthem “Now, O Death, Where Is Thy Sting” Chancel Choir *The Doxology Praise God from whom all blessings flow. The People of Gadsden First United Methodist CHANGING LIVES BY SHARING CHRIST MAKING DISCIPLES SERVING PEOPLE GIVING HOPE

Changing Lives The First United Methodist Church of Gadsden has already told you and me that it is FIRST. F=Friendly; I=Interesting; R=Real; S=Spiritual; T=Total Package. I visited GFUMC and found it to be a spiritual house in which I could worship, grow, serve and support. Pat and Jim Martin invited me to join their Sunday School class where I was met with overwhelming acceptance. The morning worship service provided a different caring scene. As I walked into the sanctuary someone came to me inviting me to be seated with them making me feel welcome and at “home.” GFUMC offers an array of Christian interactions, choices, activities, small and large interest groups, personal and community involvement meeting the individual needs of and support of our members and new visitors. So GFUMC became my FIRST church when I moved from Anniston and it will be my only. You don’t have to look any further for another church home. Billie Hackney Foreign Exchange Student Consider adding a new family member with a foreign high school student. Host families are needed for the 2010-2011 school year for youth from many different countries. It’s a great way to share your country and your faith.
