The aim of the module is to acquaint students with the fundamentals of systems realisations Module for data visualisation, control, and storage in industrial systems. The methods of building target human-machine interface will be discussed as well.

Teaching contents The architecture and economic conditions of applying ERP, SCADA, and DCS systems – distributed systems, etc. Communication in SCADA systems – communication protocols, OPC server configuration facilitating data exchange between system modules. Installing SCADA tool software as well as the tools for creating HMI panels. The principles of correct design of a user interface (man-machine) in industrial visualisation systems (graphical interface form). Basic functions which serve the communication between operational station and the user. Advanced script functions in programming operational panels (e.g. introduction and processing text data, propagations in arrays, etc.). Handling alarms and logging archive data in SCADA systems.

Preparing the Proficmy Machine Edition environment to work. Configuring system parameters. Designing and the realisation of SCADA system architecture with the use of at least two PLC controllers. Operational panel which realises basic process data monitoring functions. The realisation of advanced functions connected with the visualisation and monitoring industrial processes (functions based in the VBScript or ViewScript). The realisation of control-measuring functions with the use SoftPLC module in GE Fanuc operational panels. Logging process data of the currently assigned industrial process.

An oral test on the lectures; 20% students’ attendance during the realisation of virtual engineering assignments (a problem + solution). A written test on the skills concerning laboratory classes.
