KELBURN TREAT
Congratulations to the House Captains for organising a special treat for Kelburn. The children in P5-P7 had great fun doing different sporting activities– basketball, badminton, gymnastics etc. The children in P1-P4 had a party afternoon playing musical bumps, pass the parcel and lots of other fun games. Everyone enjoyed themselves!
Congratulations! Congratulations to Freya and Megan on winning the Burns’ poetry competition held by the Govan Weavers. Children from Pirie Park Primary and Riverside Primary competed for the chance to perform at the Govan Weavers Burns’ supper. Everyone did really well and it was difficult to choose a winner, however, Megan & Freya won with their rendition of “My Heart is in the Highlands”. Well Done, Freya & Megan!

As part of their topic, the children in P1a, P1b and P2/1 participated in a drumming workshop. It was very noisy but the children had a ball!

Mrs Nickson organised a Celtic Connections workshop for P6/5 and P6. The children got the wonderful opportunity to play some traditional instruments. Gary, Ciaran and Amy tried out the boron. Marnie, Ryan, Megan and Farrell had a go on the fiddle. The children also got to try out the penny whistle.
Eilidh McDade, Charlie Davidson, Tarek Abed, Jack Smith, Stuart Ramsay and Shelby O’Donnell participated in the finals of the Cross Country at Nether Pollok Park. Shelby was 3rd in the P7 girls race. This is a fantastic achievement. Everyone did really well and fortunately they were not as muddy as the last time!
