Technical information Specified operating environment Hardware requirements Print Transform from AFP to PDF for Infoprint Server for z/OS (5655-TF1), Print Transform from AFP to PCL for Infoprint Server for z/OS (5655-TF2), and Print Transform from AFP to PostScript for Infoprint Server for z/OS (5655-TF3) require z/ OS V1.10 (5694-A01) or later and run on IBM System z® servers. Output transformed from AFP into PCL can be printed on printers that support PCL5, PCL5c, or PCL5e. Output transformed from AFP into PostScript can be printed on printers that support PostScript Level 2 or 3. Output transformed from AFP to PDF is PDF 1.4 and can be viewed using the Adobe Acrobat Viewer. Software requirements Print Transform from AFP to PDF for Infoprint Server for z/OS (5655-TF1), Print Transform from AFP to PCL for Infoprint Server for z/OS (5655-TF2), and Print Transform from AFP to PostScript for Infoprint Server for z/OS (5655-TF3) require z/ OS V1.10 (5694-A01) or later and the Infoprint Server optionally priced feature of z/ OS . Performance considerations Transforming print jobs from the data stream in which they were created to another data stream will use more system resources than printing the same job to a printer that supports the native data stream. The print file resulting from the transforms may be larger than the original input print file. The impact on system and network resources will vary depending upon the print volume, the print data streams processed, and the current utilization of the system and network resources. Transform execution speed varies with the data stream type, job length, output resolution, screening algorithms (for images), level of encryption, and density and complexity of the pages in the print file. In particular, PostScript and PDF transforms vary greatly in complexity, and transform speeds may vary significantly for similar, but different jobs. Security, auditability, and control Print Transform from AFP to PDF for Infoprint Server for z/OS , V1.1, Print Transform from AFP to PCL for Infoprint Server for z/OS , V1.1, and Print Transform from AFP to PostScript for Infoprint Server for z/OS , V1.1 use the security and auditability features of the host z/OS operating system. The customer is responsible for evaluation, selection, and implementation of security features, administrative procedures, and appropriate controls in application systems and communication facilities.

The Electronic Services news page is a single Internet entry point that replaces the multiple entry points traditionally used to access IBM Internet services and support. The news page enables you to gain easier access to IBM resources for assistance in resolving technical problems. The Electronic Service Agent is no-additional-charge software that resides on your server. It monitors events and transmits system inventory information to IBM on a periodic, client-defined timetable. The Electronic Service Agent automatically reports hardware problems to IBM . Early knowledge about potential problems enables IBM to deliver proactive service that may result in higher system availability and performance. In addition, information collected through the Service Agent is made available to IBM service support representatives when they help answer your questions or diagnose problems.
