The form and appearance of our lighting fixtures are based on the tradition of Bohemian chandelier-making, dating back to the period around 1724. The mastery that Preciosa - Lustry’s glassmakers show finds tangible expression in the quality of the chandeliers they make and in these fixtures’ noble look and timelessness, which is one of the typical attributes of products made of genuine Bohemian crystal. The lighting fixtures by our company have traditionally been characterized by great emphasis on artistic design, exquisite craftsmanship of each component as well as the final product. These lyre-shaped chandeliers were first manufactured in North Bohemia for Maria Theresa, Empress of Austria, in 1746. Ever since delivered to her palace, this type of chandelier has borne her name. Maria Theresa lighting fixtures are characterized by flat steel arms finished with golden or silver bronze and covered on both sides with crystal fillets, secured by crystal rosettes, precisely matching the curvature of the arms. Richly dressed with crystal chandelier trimmings, these lighting fixtures can create an atmosphere of royal palaces even in an ordinary room.
