On the 2-4 of October 2015 the Amsterdam Skating Club Jaap Eden will organise, under auspices of the Royal Skating Association of the Netherlands (KNSB), for the 29th time the Open Dutch Shorttrack. This international competition has moved to the beginning of the season to give the skaters extra opportunities for skating limit times for a.o. StarClass competitions. The competition will consist of two parts plus free training-sessions on Friday afternoon. The ranking of the Open Dutch will also count for the Overall classification for the “Golden Sun Award” and for the “Silver M” for Masters. Photofinish and Video Replay for referees will be used. Free training Friday afternoon Only skaters who compete on Friday evening in the Open Dutch Speed Challenge can have a free training session on Friday afternoon. There are 3 training-sessions available; 14.00-14.50, 15.00-15.50 and 16.00-16.50. Please inform with entry which training session is preferred. Open Dutch Speed Challenge Friday evening The Open Dutch Speed Challenge is an All-final competition over 3 rounds with heats, semi-finals and finals. The distance is the 500m. The competition will be made up in groups (divisions) of 16 skaters based on the best season time of the past season until the closing date of the entry for this competition. Awards will be given to the best 3 skaters male and female. All skaters who improve their Personal Record in this competition will receive a special award. Besides this awards will be presented for the overall classification of the Open Dutch Speed Challenge together with the Open Dutch Shorttrack. The entry for the Open Dutch Speed Challenge is limited to 60 skaters; so don’t wait too long with entering skaters. Entry is only possible for skaters who also enter for the Open Dutch Shorttrack. Open Dutch Shorttrack The traditional competition will be held on the Saturday and Sunday. Attention; the competition will start on Saturday at 09.00 hr. The competition is an All-final system in which all skaters score points for the Overall classification. The Relay for clubteams is an important part of the Open Dutch. So we request all clubs to try to complete as much as possible their Relay teams with own skaters.

Participation Participation in the Open Dutch is open to clubs who belong to an ISU-member. Skaters can only compete in clubteams and not in national, regional or combination-teams. All skaters must have competition experience of good level. The following age-categories are allowed to compete. Awards and memento’s For the individual classification after three distances there will be awards for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed skater of every category. For the club classification there will be awards for the 1st to 10th placed clubteam. All skaters will receive a nice memento of the Open Dutch Shortttack.

Conditions of contest  the competition will be held in accordance with the 2014 ISU Regulations and relevant ISU Communications.  all skaters must wear safety helmets with a complete hard shell and a fastening under the chin, cut resistant gloves, kneepads and long sleeved clothing according to the ISU-regulations.  the organisation accepts no liability for injury or damage sustained by competitors, substitutes and officials.  the composition of the heats of the 1st distance will be based on the best season times stated in the entry-form or Friday evening Open Dutch Speed Challenge. The composition of the heats of the 2nd distance will be based on the results of the first distance.

Relay races and points The relay is a very important part of the competition and is also skated as an “All-final system” with heats and finals for all the teams. Points for the club classification are awarded in the finals: 50, 40, 30, 20 and 10 points. The composition of the relay-teams must be send by E-mail at last on Thursday 2 October to [email protected]. The competition will start on Saturday with the relay heats; late entries for the relay are not possible! For the relay there are some additional rules:      

only club teams may compete (combination, regional and national teams are not allowed) a skater may only compete in one team per round (unless accidental case permission of referee) the composition of a team may be changed for each qualifying round skaters are allowed to compete in a higher age-category but not in a younger one (masters are allowed to skate with the seniors but seniors are not allowed to skate with the masters) girls are allowed to compete in a boys-team but boys not in a girls-team juniors E/F are not allowed to skate the relay in a higher age-category and the results of these relays will not be taken into the overall club-classification.

Individual and club classification The individual classification will be according to the ISU rules. The club-classification will be based on the total of the competition points (50, 48, 46, 45, 44, 43 etc.) of the best four skaters per club per distance, plus the points of the best relay-team of that club. In case of a tie in points the result of the relayfinal will be taken into consideration. Track-stewards Due to the fact that all categories are competing and that the competition takes many hours, the organizing club needs extra Track-steward. For this reason all clubs have to bring besides their competition-skaters one Track-steward. Clubs are requested to enter the name of the Track-stewards in the entry-form on shorttrackonline.info. Also active skaters can be Track-steward in other categories of the competition. During the competition a time schedule for Track-stewards will hang out at the heatbox. Program Friday 03 october

Entry Open Dutch Speed Challenge & Open Dutch Shorttrack Entries for the Open Dutch Speed Challenge and the Open Dutch Shorttrack must be done for the two competitions separately. For the Open Dutch Speed Challenge no entry fee has to be paid. There will be an entry-fee for the Open Dutch Shorttrack of 10,00 euro per skater to be paid at the Help-desk.
