June 30th - Did you know today Dave Beard #13378 and Bonnie Beard Honorary Member #1 celebrated their wedding anniversary today. June 30th - Visited with Larry Lindberg #48040 today. Larry and Jodie are doing fine. They have indicated they will do there best to stop by the August meeting for a little bit to catch up with friends in the Senate. Larry was out watching his ferocious dog at the time Jane Hider #47491 and I paid a visit. July 1st - Talked with Ray Ainslie #44136 today. The weather is beautiful and Ray and wife Melony # are enjoy a relaxing evening eating ice cream. July 2nd - Talked with Dave Beard #13378 today. Dave and Bonnie are doing fine. They will keep me updated as to how Don "Higgy" Higgins #23038 is doing. July 3rd - Spoke with Carol Farron in regard to JCI Senator #23230 Tim Farron. During one of their moves Tim's JCI Senate information was lost. I have assured Carol we can get Tim a replacement Certificate along with a JCI Senate pin and small banner creed. I was able to find Tim's JCI Senate number in a listing given to me by Mr. Dave Beard #13378. Tim has had a rough few years. In 2006 Tim underwent a quadruple by-pass and had at stroke. In 2012 Tim was diagnosed with bladder cancer and is undergoing his third round of chemo treatments. Please keep Tim and Carol in your thoughts and prayers. July 3rd - Spoke with Earl Sawyer #28243 , the JCI Senate Membership Director at JCI headquarters. Earl indicates he will be getting a replacement Certificate for Tim. July 3rd - The plan is to have Gary "Teddy Bear" Weaks #22873, who was the 49th President of the Ohio Jaycees present Tim with his replacement Certificate. Along with Gary we are trying to get Gary Lawson #19787, Dave Beard #13378, Bonnie Beard Honorary Life Member #1, Dave Cook #10995 with wife Sue, Larry Cook #19004, with hopes of the Yates brothers to be present. Thank you Carol Farron for reaching out to the Ohio JCI Senate. July 4th - Received word Gary "Teddy Bear" Weaks #22873 is very honored in being asked to present Tim Farron #23230 with his new JCI Senate Certificate and pin. Tim was the personal assistant to "Teddy Bear" the year he was President of the Ohio JCI Senate.

July 4th - Received a return call from Russ Cooper #4638, the USJCI Senate Ambassador to Europe today. Russ was in the hospital and will hopefully get out today. We wish you a speedy recovery Russ and hope to see you soon. July 8th - Spoke with Dave Cook #10995 today. Dave is helping with arrangements for a few of us to visit with Tim Farron #23230. We will meet on the Friday the Pig Roast starts. I am looking forward to meeting Tim and his wife Carol along with Gary "Teddy Bear" Weaks #22873 plus others from that area. July 11th - Spoke with Russ Cooper #4638 today. Russ is feeling better. Russ is on his was to Chicago today. You take care Russ. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Oh and for those of you that don't know Russ has some of the best pickles around. I am sure he can help us out with pickles if we ask nicely. July 11th - Paul Hartmann #58202 is doing well this summer. He is keeping himself busy and looks forward to seeing his JCI Senate friends again soon. July 11th - Spoke with Martha Higgins today. Martha is Don "Higgy" Higgins #23038 wife. Martha informs me done is doing well. He is feeling better but has a long way to come yet. His appetite is improving but he still is not allowed any beer. I say we should give done a visit with a case of Budwiser and a case of water for Higgy. I am very sure he would kick us all in the knees as we enjoyed a cool refreshing beer as he had his water. July 12th - Spoke with Michele Blackburn #63108 today. Michele tells me Allen Kraps is getting along somewhat well. She will do some checking with Allen's wife Marsha to see when would be a good time for me to visit Allen. We all wish you well, sir. July 12th - Mike Sawyer #36403 is doing well and wishes all of the Ohio JCI Senate well. I'm hearing there may be some untold stories Mike. I will not but them here but I really must have some verification someday. You take care my friend. July 14th - Spoke with Bouckaert, wife of Phil Bouckaert #2999. Phil is the 36th President of the Ohio JCI Senate. I am looking forward to meeting the both of them here in the near future. July 14th - Spoke with Jim Bach #39919 today. Jim is doing well and enjoying his summer. July 14th - Spoke with Ray Baskette #29037 today. Ray is doing well and wishes all the Ohio JCI Senate well. Ray is a great friend to Ohio and has many friends here in the Buckeye State. July 14th - Spoke with Gary Lawson #19787, the 14th President of the Ohio JCI Senate. Gary is looking forward to meeting in Tipp City with a few of us before the 34th Annual Ohio JCI Senate Pig Roast. Gary was there as president for the very first PIG Roast. July 16th - Received word from Dave Cook #10995 and from Carol Farron that a nice group of people are expected this coming Friday to treat Tim to a reunion with some old Jaycee friends. July 17th - Gene Hettel #30372 in his office in the Philippines. Gene was a Wooster Jaycee and received his JCI Senatorship in 1981.

I received word this event has made Tim very happy. I know in talking to those in attendance it was wonderful for them to be back as a group once again. Some of these JCI Senators had not seen each other in over 20 years. I hope we can get together again for some good times. And "Teddy Bear" remember, I will keep you posted on the upcoming JCI Senate events so you can surprise many and be there. July 18th - The 34th Annual Pig Roast of the Ohio JCI Senate was held. Those that are still with us can hardly believe a project to bring JCI Senators together back 34 years ago is still going on. They are quite proud to see JCI Senators still sharing in the fellowships and friendships.

And for many of you, YES, the pink shirt is now really history!! The drawing was held and the infamous pink shirt will never be seen again.

July 24th - Received word Larry Dawson #55622 , Administrative Vice President Ohio JCI Senate, once again became a grandpa. Alaina Jane Kozenko makes Larry a grandpa again. Mother and father and Alaina are doing well.

Mark the Date - I have been informed the Ohio Jaycees will have the August All-State in Canton, Ohio. The date is August 15-16, 2014 at the McKinley Grand Hotel 320 Market Ave S, Canton, OH 44702 Phone:(330) 454-5000. Tweed Vorhees #30298 knows the person that has some classic cars on display in the lower level of the hotel. Tweed indicates he can get a tour set up if we have interest. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, please let us know. In closing, if you know a JCI Senator who is not a member of the Ohio JCI Senate ask them to join us. There is a form on the website, www.ohiojcisenate.com, that can be filled out and sent in. Your efforts in helping to make our organization better are always welcomed with open arms. If you would like to get a group of Senators together for breakfast or an after work get together let me know. I am more than willing to travel to your area to met JCI Senators and past or current Jaycees.
