Rotary Meeting Call to Order: The Chair opened the meeting at 0700 at the Heritage Inn with the singing of O Canada and Rotary Grace. Attendance: There were 22 dedicated members who enjoyed a morning of fellowship with their fellow Rotarians and guests. Guests: Ole Tech (Exchange Student), Bionca Godoy, Kate Kessler, Joanne Benesh 50/50 Draw ($2.00/Ticket): Draw Master Harold oversaw the draw for made for the 50/50. Joanne Benesh was the lucky winner.

Sargeant John incited donations to the Foundation for Ken’s birthday, for not putting up Christmas lights during warm weather, for not adding profile to My Rotary, for not signing up for ringing bells. Happy and Sads: for earthquake in NZ, for safety of members of last fall’s exchange NZ Rotarians, for great trip to New Brunswich, for being hit by a Red Light runner, for cracked windshield and flat tire on attempted trip to Whitewood, for malfunctioning thermostat that led to coke exploding and beer freezing, for Bianca and Joanne attending meeting.

Club Business No Club Business Program Bianca provided members with an overview Brazil. Brazil is the largest country in both South America and Latin America. As the world's fifth-largest country by both area and population, it is the largest country to have Portuguese as an official language and the only one in the Americas. Bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east, Brazil has a coastline of 7,491 km (4,655 mi). The capital is Brazilia. The Amazon forms the major part of the north. The south is cooler and contains several states. Agriculture, especially cattle raising, is a major part of the economy. Bahia, Amazona and Rio Grande de Sul are main dishes of Brazil. Cheese bread is a breakfast staple. Corn is a major source of food, including ice cream. Cachaca (from sugar cane) and Guarana (a soda) are popular drinks. Carnivals are held across the country. The carnival in each region is distinct from the other. The Rio Carnival is the most famous. Aparados da Serra is their Grand Canyon. Iguacu Falls is their Niagara Falls. They have many famous beaches, part of their 5000 miles of coastline. Some of the famous cities are Rio de Janiero, San Paulo, Ouro Preto. These cities were founded by the Portuguese. There are 3, 500 Rotary Clubs in Brazil. There are 7 in her city. Priachicaba. They are part of District 4310. Priacicaba is a city of 450,000 residents. The economy of her city is sugar cane. It is used to make sugar and ethanol.They sugar mill has become a museum. The schools in Brazil are from kindergarten to grade 12, which means that they go to school with the same people throughout their school life. Bianca plans on becoming a food engineer.
