INCOMING NINTH GRADERS ONLINE LEARNING Online Learning System is a computer-based learning system that provides students with another medium for achieving academic credit. The Online Learning System allows students to work at their own pace while completing necessary academic courses. Rochester Community Schools does not recommend online courses as preparation for an AP course in the same subject area.

How does Online Learning work?  Online courses require students to have remote access to a high speed internet, standalone PC.  The coursework will be accessible the first day of the session.  All coursework, notebooks, and assessments must be completed by 9PM the night before the last day of the session. If these are not completed, the student will not be allowed to take the final exam on the last day of the session. There are no exceptions.  Students are required to take an assessment at Hart Middle School on the first day of their session for Credit Recovery classes only.  Students will take their final exams at Hart Middle School on the last day of the session.  If the course is not completed in the allotted number of days, the student will earn a failing grade. There will be no extensions or incompletes.  Each online course is designed to be the equivalent of approximately 60 hours of instruction.  The teacher will use RCS e-mail as the medium for communication with the students.

There will be a mandatory introductory meeting for all parents and students to review the course and technology requirements. The meeting will be held at Hart Middle School, 6500 Sheldon, Rochester Hils, MI 48306. Session 1: Mandatory Parent Meeting Date: Tuesday, June 20, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Session 2: Mandatory Parent Meeting Date: Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Session 3: Mandatory Parent Meeting Date: Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. Objectives:  
