Direct current (GS) or pulsed direct current (PS) The direct current and pulsed direct current iontophoresis-therapy is an internationally established and scientifically acknowledged treatment procedure, which is known for years. In scientific studies the therapy with pulsed direct current with the idromed® 5 PS is rated as the optimum therapy method, thanks to its new current type, especially for very sensitive patients, children and young people. The therapy current is almost not percepted. Possible side effects are clearly reduced. The hands or feet can be taken out of the basins during the therapy without the usually known “electric fence effect” (electric shock).

Special characteristics
dermalight ® 80 is the UV-comb for the treatment of the scalp. The removable comb attachment provides for a defined distance to the scalp and a continuous parting of the hairs.

The dermalight ® 80 is equipped with either UV-A or UV-B-311 nm lamps, which covers a broad range of therapy applications for a variety of different indications. The compact UV-irradiation unit Dermalight ® 200 represents a true innovation in equipment for the UV irradiation treatment of individual body parts. Thanks to the therapy field of 11 x 8 cm, it is ideally suited for complementary or supplementary treatment of locally affected areas with a higher therapy resistance. A wide range of therapeutic treatments can be carried out by the use of either UV-A or UV-Blamps, corresponding to a variety of diagnosed complaints. Ease of operation is enhanced by the functional seperation of the timer and the irradiation unit, which enables also treatment of body parts, that are not easily accessible, such as skinfolds or the genital area. Dermalight® 500 as a basic unit and the system in combination with up to 3 units with tripod respectively is a functional UV-irradiation unit for different body parts. Hands, feet, chest, back, coccyx or knees can be treated effectively thanks to the special construction. Dermalight® 500 can be combined with up to 3 basic units and the moveable as well as vertically adjustable tripod. The tripod permits a simultaneous treatment of hands and feet as well as of other body parts in a comfortable sitting position. Thanks to the rotatable tripod base the treatment angle can be adjusted for the body part to be treated. When combined with 1 or 2 units and the tripod, the upper unit has an external controller, which is pivotable. So an exact dosage is possible irrespective of the positioning of the unit.

The whole-body UV irradiation unit, available with either 1.80 m or 2.00 m lamps Therapy in standing, lying or sitting position The irradiation unit of the dermalight® 1000 is continuously slewable by 180° and enables therapy in standing, lying and sitting position. But also local treatment, f. ex. In the neck area, can be carried out without problems. The stepless height adjustment grants always the correct treatment distance. The moveable tripod of the unit grants an easy movement to the treatment place and a space-saving storage. Exact dosage The integrated microprocessor control enables the exact adjustment of the treatment time and the dosage respectively. The lamps are shut off automatically after the expiration of the chosen treatment time, in order to avoid an overdose. In case of a break, the remaining treatment time is stored.

The whole-body UV irradiation cabin
Special characteristics
dermalight® 3000 is a high-performance and economic therapy system for the whole-body UV irradiation. Due to its compact design the cabin requires only a minimum of space and adjusts flexibly to the room setting. Thanks to the special reflectors behind the lamps the irradiation intensity is increased, this grants comparatively short treatment times for the patients. The 8 integrated fans are switched on when necessary and provide for a constant and pleasant temperature inside the cabin. The emergency switch inside the cabin, a window in the door and the solid door handles inside and outside provide for the safety of the patient. The cabin offers the possibility of mono therapy with UV-B/311 nm or UV-A lamps. A mixed equipment of UV-A and UV-B/311 nm lamps is also possible. This allows a multitude of therapy forms, according to different indications.

The high-performance UV irradiation cabin The dermalight® 5000 can be equipped with up to 48 UV lamps. Especially with an equipment of 32 UV-A lamps and 16 UV-B/311 nm lamps the irradiation is homogeneous and the treatment times are short. Due to the use of electronically self-ballasted UV lamps the economic efficiency and the comfort of the dermalight® 5000 is increased considerably. The integrated UV sensors constantly measure the irradiation intensity and therefore grant an exact dosimetry. The irradiation climate inside the cabin is very agreable thanks to the reflectors with integrated ventilators behind the lamps. The chipcard control bound to the patient allows a safe, easy and documentable UV therapy. All important and relevant data are stored at the chipcard for each patient. A preprogramming prevents misuse and reduces the treatment risk to a minimum.

The menu navigation of the touchscreen display is clearly arranged, uncomplicated and safe. The therapy doses can be preprogrammed by the operator beforehand for each patient. Via an interface all relevant data can be transferred to a PC, filed and also be used for the accounting. A start/stop button inside the cabin enables the patient to start and also stop the treatment by himself. Compact unit for the safe determination of the minimum UV-B erythema dosis (MED) or the minimum UV-A phototoxic dose (MPD). The dermalight ® 80 MED or MPD-tester serves for the definition of the MED or MPD, according to the choice of light source (uv-b 311 nm or uv-a). The unit contains a foil with 6 different test fields. The varying dosage in the test fields is caused by varying sizes of outlets and therefore varying UV-irradiation. The MED or MPD serves for the definition of the optimum starting dosage for UV-treatment. The scope of delivery contains the unit, the LCD-controller, a suitcase and the operation instructions.

Lack of light is the cause Many people suffer from the lack of daylight, especially in autumn and winter. Normally the daylight is absorbed by the eyes and the nerve impulses are then forwarded to the brain. In the brain, hormones, which have influence on our sleeping rhythm and our emotional life, are released. If the body gets not enough daylight, the release of the “luck hormone” serotonin decreases, and the body now produces the “sleeping hormone” melatonin. The consequence is: the metabolism goes down and the mood sinks. dermalight® SAD works inartificially The unit emits flicker-free light with a spectrum similar to daylight without UV-spectrum. Special characteristics
Light has a lot of characteristics that have a positive influence on the well-being and the health. Via special receptors in the retina of the eye it affects the pineal gland of the brain and by this controls the creation and release of the hormone melatonin. Not only moods or the drive, also the sleepingwaking-rhythm, the concentration and the productivity are influenced by this hormone. For many years now physicians are using light therapy, f. ex. for the treatment of depressions and the eating disorders often connected to them. Other fields of application are also eating disorders, menstrual pains, clock change problems of shift workers or the sudden microsleep while driving. Further to this everyone can easily use the BlueLight® mobile to defend himself against fatigue, exhaustion, lack of concentration and general mood swings. Acc. to the most recent medical findings of the Charité Hospital in Berlin only a confined frequency band in the blue spectral range is active at the suppression of melatonin release. By this evidence and thanks to modern technologies it is now possible to carry out light therapy with a mobile unit – the BlueLight® mobile. While wearing the unit, the visual field of the user stayes mostly free. The user therefore can read, work, look TV or simply relax during the treatment.
