INCLUSION SERVICES FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS We advocate and provide inclusion assistance for people who have a disability/special need to receive equal opportunity to fully participate in Portland Parks & Recreation programs offered city wide.

Is your home hurting your family? Make it lead-safe.

Admission Fees for Portland Residents (call for non-resident fees for the 10 & 20 visit passes)

Seniors

How it Works After a planning session with the participant, an inclusion assistant will provide support “on-site” at the first age-appropriate class. Further assistance will be provided based on need. The inclusion staff will work with the instructor on how to supportively work with the participant and accommodate their individual needs. A general program may be adapted using auxiliary aids and services, but the basic structure of the activity remains the same. Accommodations are made as needed and can be flexible and creative, ensuring the participant engages as independently as possible. A reasonable accommodation would be to lower the instructor-to-student ratio for an activity. If you are interested in Inclusion Services, please call Disabled Citizens Recreation, (503) 823-4328 V/TDD. A minimum of five business days (Monday-Friday) advance notice is required. The inclusion staff will do their best to accommodate each participant.
