Human Sculpturez A Performance Artwork: Bridges Ballroom Presenters: Gerry Whitbeck & Company Human Sculpture is an exercise in human endurance. For creator Gerry Whitbeck, the puppeteer who guides his "flyers"" like marionettes in bondage, the piece is an exhlbition of control. The tension builds throughout the performance while the audience is bathed in a gut-wrenching but strangely harmonic and rhythmic soundtrack of industrial noise and tribal drumming. ln the show's finale Gerry doubles as a performer who is tangibly in control even while he is pierced with 8-gauge fishing hooks and suspended above the stage. NOTE: this pefformance will extend into the lunch period and reach it's climax during lunch.
