CITY OF PHILADELPHIA

The health and well-being of the developing countries of Africa have always been of prime concern to people of good faith. Many Philadelphians joined others nationwide in asking what they could do for the victims of drought and famine in Ethiopia. This initial concern has evolved into a broader one which embraces extensive human development projects in Cameroon and Kenya. In response to the overwhelming concern of the community, Philadelphians from all walks of life formulated a committee to develop the Philadelphia CAREs for Africa campaign that opens officially on Thursday, February 5, 1987. Members of the original committee who developed this campaign to raise funds for food production, environmental protection and health education, deserve our commendation and appreciation. Accordingly, the City of Philadelphia is pleased to present this Citation to

DR. A. ROMEO HORTON. CONNECT INTERNATIONAL, INC. on this occasion and thank each member of the original committee for "caring for people today, so they can care for themselves tomorrow."
