Auditions for Legally Blonde the Musical will take place at 2:40 – 6 PM on the following dates: Dance Auditions: Monday, December 16 in the OHS Cafeteria Music Auditions: Tuesday, December 17 in room 119 Callbacks: Thursday, December 19 in room 119 All students must submit a signed and complete Audition Form and Contract at the time of their Dance Audition on 12/16. For Music Auditions on 12/17, sign up throughout the day at the call board outside of the main office. Auditions will take place in the order of sign ups. The Callback List will be posted outside the main office by the afternoon of Thursday 12/19, and Callbacks will begin at 2:30 on 12/19. WHAT TO PREPARE: Choose one selection from this packet for your audition. MEN: In addition to a solo piece from this packet, all men must prepare the duet (#7 “Legally Blonde”). PLEASE NOTE: Auditions will be competitive and roles are limited. Students who are not prepared will not be considered for roles. Knowledge of the music and the show is required. Show us what role you deserve. Students who are not cast in the production are encouraged to join crew. We are looking to see you act a character through song and dance, as well as your musical proficiency and competency. Be familiar with the style of the show and make clear choices. By no means should anyone attempt to imitate Reese Witherspoon or the Broadway actress’s performances. The key to comedy is timing and fresh choices SHOW SYNOPSIS: Harvard's beloved blonde takes the stage by pink storm in this fun, upbeat musical about self-discovery. Based on the adored movie, LEGALLY BLONDE: THE MUSICAL stays true to form with a peppy score and playful book. This musical is ridiculously enjoyable from start to finish. Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside-down, however, when her boyfriend dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get into Harvard Law. At school, she struggles with peers, professors, and Warner Huntington. With the help of Paulette and Emmett, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world. This musical is relatively new to the theatre world, catering to the present-day's generation and culture. Excellent actors / singers / dancers. California Sorority girls who act as Elle’s Greek Chorus. Margot is ditzy, Pilar is sassy, Serena is Starbucks and Spray Tan obsessed. Paulette Buonofuonte - Soprano Belt - A3 - A5 Female, 20’s – 40’s. Excellent actor / singer. A brash and funny hair stylist who is friends with Elle Vivienne Kensington - Soprano Belt - A3 - F5 Female, – 20’s. Excellent actor / singer. A smart and savvy law student who initially dismisses Elle, but grows to be her friend Brooke Wyndham - Mezzo-Soprano - A3 - G5 Female, 20’s – 30’s. Excellent actor / singer / dancer.
