BRACING SCAFFOLDING Bracing scaffolding provides unhindered access to wall and beam reinforcements. Stability is assured by simple bracing or base widening. Crane movement is possible at any time after pinning of the standard joints and securing the baseplates.

HOLLOW WALL BRACKETS The hollow wall bracket allows concreting work on prefabricated element walls. Forget about time-consuming timber structures – simply suspend the bracket from the top of the wall and lay system decks on it – that‘s all.

MOBILE WORKING TOWERS Mobile working towers offer an enormous advantage when work is done section by section. Castors of varying load-bearing capacity, or rail-guided flanged wheels, offer innumerable solutions for a wide range of applications.

ADVERTISING SIGNS An Allround substructure is frequently used for putting up an advertising sign or banner. It is quick to assemble and adapts to almost any terrain conditions. Layher Stairway Towers

LANDING-TYPE STAIRWAY TOWER, ALTERNATING AND UNIDIRECTIONAL The simplest variant for stairway structures. A complete component with suspension claws for scaffolding decks to permit very easy assembly. The Layher landing-type stairway comes in various designs: in a U version and in an O version, or as an easy-access stairway with widened steps. The latter ensures, particularly for great heights, a greater feeler of security and convenience. The landing-type stairway towers can be assembled in a unidirectional or alternating configuration as required. They can be combined with SpeedyScaf and Allround equipment. Once the joints have been secured, the stairway towers can be simply moved by crane or attached in suspended form.

ALLROUND STAIRWAY TOWER 750 AS ACCESS TO SITE CONTAINER The Allround Stairway Tower 750 is used, on account of its pitch dimensions and high load-bearing capacity, mainly in public-access areas and for public events. It can however also be used on construction sites, for example as an access to a site container.

COMPACT STAIRWAY TOWER The Layher compact stairway tower fits into many stairway recesses in buildings to house one or more families, and conforms in its regular version to German regulations governing stairways for building work. Layher Allround Shoring TG 60

NUREMBERG (GERMANY), CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SPORTS HALL The Dürer School in Nuremberg was to be expanded by a new sports hall and several classrooms. Allround Shoring TG 60 was used for concreting the massive joist-supported ceiling.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Shoring structure: 46 m long, 28 m wide.  Towers connected to one another using Allround ledgers (no need for time-consuming measurement).  Material: about 9500 m³ of Allround Shoring TG 60 plus standard Allround components.  110 t of scaffolding material used.

KUOPIO (FINLAND), CONSTRUCTION OF TWO MOTORWAY BRIDGES To construct two motorway bridges, Allround Shoring TG 60 and standard Allround components were used. The challenge: the shoring had to approximate to the curvature of the later superstructure. The solution: the scaffolding erectors aligned the ledgers and diagonal braces at the Allround rosettes with the angle already specified, achieving by doing so an optimum approximation to the subsequent curvature.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Shoring structure in each case 122 m long, 13 m wide and up to 11 m high; 38,000 m³ in size and weighing 600 t.  Consistent diagonal reinforcement using Allround diagonal braces, without tubes or couplers, ensures high overall stiffness.

Layher Allround Shoring TG 60

NUFRINGEN (GERMANY), CONSTRUCTION OF AN AUTOMATED HIGH-BAY WAREHOUSE Allround Shoring TG 60 was used for building an automated high-bay warehouse in Nufringen. The challenge: the extremely high loads from concreting of the trough ceiling had to be absorbed. This was achieved by simply combining the frames with the aid of twin wedge couplers.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Allround Shoring TG 60 combined with standard Allround components.  Ground plan of shoring towers 1.09 m x 1.09 m, height about 4.5 m.  Absorption of high vertical loads of 25 t/m using quadruple frame combination.  Only two construction phases, by a minor modification at the top of the tower with only one basic design.

ZÜRICH (SWITZERLAND), CONSTRUCTION OF SEVERAL BUSINESS AND RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS Allround Shoring TG 60 was combined with standard Allround material to construct joist-supported ceilings, as part of a project to construct four buildings and a shopping, residential and leisure centre. For each joist, a combination of nine shoring towers with differing bay lengths was used.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Allround Shoring TG 60 combined with standard Allround components.  L-shaped shoring with dimensions of around 120 m and 30 m.  Ideal use of material and adaptation to local conditions thanks to a variety of shoring bay lengths obtained using different ledgers and diagonal braces.  Easy assembly of accesses to the tops of the towers using standardized Allround brackets.

Layher Allround Shoring TG 60

CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW POWER STATION The flexibility of Shoring TG 60 benefited the scaffolding erectors during construction of a power station. The individual towers were preassembled while lying on the ground and then lifted by crane into the intended basic frames.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Use of more than 1,000 TG 60 frames.  Assembly of towers on the ground and lifting in by crane.  Support height over 14 meters.  Towers connected to one another using Allround ledgers (no need for time-consuming measurement).  Brackets from Allround standard range.

GRANSEE (GERMANY), CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW MILK SPRAYING TOWER A dairy processing plant in Gransee near Berlin needed a new milk spraying tower. The ingenious solution for building this structure, about 37 meters high, with a ground plan of 15 x 28 meters: use of Layher Shoring TG 60.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Use of around 66 tons of scaffolding material in all, including about 24 tons of Shoring frames TG 60.  Area covered by formwork per level approx. 400 m².  Support heights up to about 10 m.  Surrounded area about 15,000 m³.  Towers connected to one another using Allround ledgers (no need for time-consuming measurement).

Layher Allround Shoring TG 60

ZÜRICH (SWITZERLAND), CONCRETING WORK AT AIRPORT For concreting work to strengthen a joist between a multi-storey carpark and the terminal at Zürich Airport, the construction companies‘ choice was for Allround Shoring TG 60. Nighttime assembly, exact adjustment to the building geometry and assembly while operations were ongoing were the essentials, and they were complied with thanks to the smart shoring solution from Layher.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Ground plan of shoring structure: 17 m x 9 m, height approx. 6 m.  Transmission of main loads through 6 shoring frames each with 2.07 meter wide intermediate bays.  Combination of Shoring TG 60 with standard Allround components.  Assembly in just one night.

DÜSSELDORF (GERMANY), CEILING CONCRETING WORK For ceiling concreting work in Düsseldorf, Shoring TG 60 from Layher was used on account of its rapid and flexible assembly. The work involved keeping a passage free for vehicles between the shoring towers by connecting them using Allround ledgers. That meant no need for time-consuming measurement.

The Allround Bridging System – the ideal addition to Layher Allround equipment. The possible uses of the Allround Bridging System are very varied, thanks to its compatibility with Allround equipment. Layher Allround Bridge Support

BERLIN (GERMANY), RENOVATION OF THE STATE OPERA HOUSE ”UNTER DEN LINDEN“ The perfect combination possibilities of the Allround system were highlighted during renovation of the State Opera House ”Unter den Linden“. The footbridge for pedestrians, the substructure for a protective wall using the Protect System, a support structure for an advertising tarpaulin and a working scaffolding for the scheduled renovation work were all built using system scaffolding from Layher. The bridging system, preassembled on the ground, was lifted into place using a crane. Two stairway tower structures ensured safe and convenient upward and downward movement.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Bridging system freely spanned with a span of 20 m.  Assembled in just one day.

LINDESBERG (SWEDEN), CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW KINDERGARTEN To be impervious to changing weather during the construction of a new kindergarten in Lindesberg, Sweden, and to keep all moisture out of the structure wherever possible, a Layher Keder roof XL was spanned over the entire site area. The challenge: the roof had to withstand over its entire span of 42 m a maximum snow load of 60 kg/m². To meet that requirement, the roof was supported at its ridge with the aid of the Allround Bridging System – the perfect combination of two innovative products from Layher.

Layher Allround Bridge Support

LOHMAR (GERMANY), REPAIR OF A FIRE-DAMAGED PRIMARY SCHOOL During repairs to a burnt-out primary school in Lohmar, the Allround Bridging System was used to bridge the projecting roof, which was no longer safe. The load from the SpeedyScaf façade scaffolding and the mounted cassette roof was absorbed by the span of 18 m.

DRAX (ENGLAND), TEMPORARY FOOTBRIDGE To bridge a heavily used road in Drax without causing excessively long disruptions to traffic, the bridging system was preassembled on the ground and then lifted into position using a crane. Safe access from both sides was assured by Layher Stairway Towers 750.

Layher Allround STAR Frame

WENDEFURT (GERMANY), RENOVATION OF A PUMPED STORAGE POWER STATION For renovation work on the machine house and on the turbine outlets at the pumped storage power station in Wendefurt, the STAR Frame from Layher proved to be the fast and advantageous alternative. The niches on the water side, many of which will be completely under water for the next 35 years, could only be supplied with material by crane. The particular challenges, such as a lack of smooth façades, sloping support surfaces on the banks, were neatly solved with modular scaffolding from Layher.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  7,500 m² of surface scaffolding.  2,000 m² of birdcage scaffolding.  85 rising meters of landing-type stairways.

LAUFFEN AM NECKAR (GERMANY), REFURBISHING OF SANDSTONE FAÇADE To repair the sandstone façade, the Gothic glass windows and the copper cladding of the St. Regiswindis church in Lauffen, its west face was covered with Layher Allround STAR Frames. Thanks to its compatibility with other Layher systems, even the outer landing-type stairway access was built without any problem.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  400 m² of facade scaffolding.  O-STAR 1.09 m.  24 m of outer stairway tower.  About 10 t of material.  Assembled by two experts in three days. Layher Allround STAR Frame

FREIBERG (GERMANY), REPAIRING CRACKS IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT BUILDING Cracks in the façade of the Landratsamt (local government offices) in Freiberg, Saxony, built in 1922, required repair. The challenge: due to the projecting walls, the maximum clearance of 30 cm from the façade would not have been achievable. So the façade was provided with 2,400 m of STAR scaffolding with a width of 1.09 m, and a total of 600 m of inner guardrails were fitted. Thanks to the rapid fitting of guardrails without any tools, this was no problem with the Allround STAR Frame.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  2,400 m² of façade scaffolding.  U-STAR 1.09 m.  14 m high.  600 m of inner guardrails with securing bars.

BERLIN (GERMANY), ADDING A STOREY TO A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING A storey had to be added to a residential block in Mainzer Strasse. The challenge: during the storey-adding work, as much light as possible had to get to the windows. The 1.09 m wide Layher Allround STAR Frame was used as a supporting structure for a temporary weather protection roof. The Allround STAR Frame was the first choice because not every level had to have a complete deck. Horizontal bracing was achieved using Allround ledgers.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  900 STAR Frames.  1,200 m² of lightweight cassette roof.  Assembled in eight weeks by four to six experts.  Decks not laid, in order to let sufficient daylight into the interior. NOTE: Building authority approval valid within Germany (Z-8.1-919) is available for the variants U-STAR 0.73 m and O-STAR 0.73 m. The German general building authority approval for the variants U-STAR 1.09 m and O-STAR 1.09 m has been applied for. Layher SpeedyScaf

BAD URACH (GERMANY), CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW SHOPPING CENTRE For the bricklaying and façade work during construction of a new shopping centre, the lightning-speed Layher SpeedyScaf equipment was used. The SpeedyScaf equipment in its aluminium variant results in even faster assembly without fatigue.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Aluminium SpeedyScaf 0.73 m.  4,000 m² of façade scaffolding.  Assembled in six days by three experts.  30 running meters of circular scaffolding.

NECKARTAILFINGEN (GERMANY), CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW FESTIVAL HALL The building of a new festival hall in Neckartailfingen shows the perfect compatibility of different Layher products. The challenge: due to the special honeycombed design of the façade, it was not possible to anchor the façade scaffolding in the wall. So the SpeedyScaf supporting towers were preassembled using Layher Allround equipment and perfectly connected to clampable rosettes.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  Aluminium SpeedyScaf 0.73 m, combined with Allround equipment in steel.  1,500 m² of façade scaffolding.  Assembled in three days by three to four experts.  Completely free-standing scaffolding; supported by Allround supporting towers.  Rapidly fitted inner guardrails using the SpeedyScaf guardrail adapter.

Layher SpeedyScaf

BAD URACH (GERMANY), CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW OFFICE BUILDING In Bad Urach, Layher SpeedyScaf was used for construction of a new office building. The challenge: the scaffolding had to take into account the outwardly sloping façades of the modern building. The differing wall clearances were handled by the attachment of different bracket widening structures. From the inside, the inclined wall in the foyer was provided with Allround scaffolding.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  3,500 m² of façade scaffolding.  Aluminium SpeedyScaf.  14 m high.  Wall inclined outwards.  Inner scaffolding in foyer with Allround equipment.

GÜGLINGEN-EIBENSBACH (GERMANY), CONSTRUCTION OF NEW CUSTOMER CENTRE The challenges posed by the building of a new customer centre with main building, training hall and staircase were met by a free-standing working and protective scaffolding. The lack of anchoring options due to the subsequent cassette/sheet metal cladding as protection from wind and weather necessitated a widening of the basic area using the modular Allround system. The necessary ballasting was computed by a structural engineer.

FACTS AND FIGURES:  In all, more than 4,200 m² of area with scaffolding.  Use of a SpeedyScaf frame scaffolding with widened surface made from Allround material and ballasted to ensure structural stability.
