WARNINGS       

Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions, quality of dilution water, compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the weeds against the remedy concerned as well as the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for the lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of the conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier in the event of any uncertainty. SYMPTOMS OF HUMAN POISONING Effects from overexposure result from inhaling this product. Symptoms of overexposure include convulsions, tremors, increased sensitivity to touch and sound, laboured breathing, decreased locomotion, tearing, nasal discharge and unco-ordination. FIRST AID TREATMENT EYES: Flush with plenty of water. Get medical attention if irritation occurs and persists. SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation occurs and persists. INGESTION: Rinse mouth with water. Dilute by giving 1 or 2 glasses of water. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. See a medical doctor immediately. INHALATION: Remove to fresh air. If breathing difficulty or discomfort occurs and persists, contact a medical doctor. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN This product has low oral, dermal and inhalation toxicity. It is slightly irritating to the skin and nonirritating to the eyes. Contains toluene which can produce a severe pneumonitis if aspirated during vomiting. Consideration should be given to gastric lavage with an endotracheal tube in place. Treatment is otherwise controlled removal of exposure followed by symptomatic and supportive care. PRECAUTIONS  Do not inhale spray mist  Avoid contact with skin and eyes  Wear suitable clothing and gloves when handling concentrate  In case of accidental skin contact wash affected area with soap and water  In case of accidental eye contact rinse eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Clean applicator after use, do not dispose of rinsate where it will contaminate crops, grazing or ground water. Prevent contamination of food, feed, drinking water and eating utensils Rinse empty container three times with a volume of clean water equal to a minimum of 10% of the container. Add the rinsing to the contents of the spray tank before destroying the container. Destroy empty container by perforation and do not use for any other purpose. Dispose of perforated container by burying or incineration in a suitable facility.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT Authority 480SC is a group E (aryl-triazolinone) herbicide. Any weed population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Authority and other group E herbicides. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly and exclusively in programmes. These resistant weeds may not be controlled by Authority or any other group E herbicides. To delay herbicide resistance:  Avoid exclusive repeated use of herbicides from the same herbicide group (E). Alternate or tank mix with products from different group codes.  Integrate other control methods (chemical, cultural, biological) into weed control programmes ROTATIONAL CROP USE RESTRICTIONS Allow the following waiting periods between the last application of AUTHORITY and the planting of follow-up crops. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED MIXING INSTRUCTIONS Fill spray tank with one half of the volume of clean water needed and start agitation. Prepare a slurry of Authority 480SC in a clean container using clean water. Slowly add the slurry of Authority 480SC to the spray tank. Carefully rinse the slurry container and add the rinsate to the spray tank then complete filling the spray tank to the required volume with clean water. Continuous spray tank agitation is required at all times to keep the product in suspension. Make sure Authority 480SC is thoroughly mixed prior to addition of surfactant and/or mixing partner. Use Authority 480SC immediately after mixing. Do not store the mixture for any length of time, e.g. overnight. WATER QUALITY Use only clean water with a pH15%. The use of a pre emergent Authority 480SC application on soils with a lower clay content may adversely affect the performance of the product. Increase the rate of Authority 480SC within the recommendations as the clay content and the cation exchange rate (CEC) of the soil increases. Use higher rates for soils of pH less than 7.0 and lower rates for pH greater than 7.0 within the rate range. EARLY POST-EMERGENCE APPLICATION TO PLANT AND RATOON CANE AND TO WEEDS In situations where a mixed stand of weeds have already started to germinate and emerge, Authority 480SC may be applied in a tank mixture with either MCPA, ametryn, paraquat or Trooper 320SL depending upon the circumstances, in order to achieve knockdown and residual control of emerged weeds and extend the range of weeds controlled. In certain conditions residual control may also be enhanced by the addition of the tank mix partner. Timing of early post-emergence treatments to weeds should be such that watergrass should be no larger than 1 – 4 leaves, grasses 1 – 2 leaves and broadleaves 0 to 30mm. Refer to the relevant product labels for weeds controlled and follow all Directions for Use. The SASRI Herbicide guide can also be consulted for additional information. Follow the APPLICATION and SOIL TYPE recommendations as for Pre-emergent applications above. LATE POST-EMERGENCE APPLICATION TO PLANT AND RATOON CANE FOR YELLOW WATERGRASS CONTROL Authority 480SC when applied as a post emergent herbicide provides control of yellow watergrass [Cyperus esculentus]. Apply with a suitable surfactant (non-ionic, mineral oil, organosilicone) at the 6 to 8 leaf stage of the watergrass. The rate at which Authority 480SC alone is applied as a post emergent treatment provides inadequate control of non-germinated weeds and will only provide short term control of yellow watergrass with limited soil activity (some suppression of purple watergrass may be achieved). Where a mixed weed population exists in addition to yellow watergrass, Authority 480SC can be applied in a tank mix with MCPA as detailed below to provide control of a broader weed spectrum. Apply the recommended rate of Authority 480SC evenly as an overall application in sufficient water (200-400 ℓ water/ha) to ensure adequate coverage of the soil surface. Apply Authority 480SC in combination with a suitable surfactant/wetter [non-ionic; mineral oil; organosilicone] (eg. Tronic, Break-Thru, Agral 90) to yellow watergrass(C. esculentus) from the 6 - 8 leaf growth stage. Important Notes: 1. Refer to the note “MODE OF ACTION AND ACTIVATION” above and read carefully. 2. The registration holder does not accept responsibility for unlisted weeds. 3. Soil Moisture and rainfall influences the activity of Authority 480SC. Generally the rainfall necessary to initiate weed germination will be sufficient to activate Authority. However, performance will be influenced by the amount of humidity in the soil – the higher the humidity the more the product will dissolve and be made available for uptake by the weeds. The activity of Authority 480SC is significantly adversely affected by low rainfall and should not be applied if these conditions are anticipated. High rainfall (>450mm) will also cause movement of the product in coarse soils which can result in poor weed and residual control. 4. The performance of Authority can also be affected by the soil type and texture. Generally weed control decreases as the texture progresses from coarse to fine. Therefore, higher rates are indicated in soils with a higher clay content and Cation Exchange Coefficient (CEC). 5. When using in tank mixtures follow all label directions for use provided by the manufacturer of the product. 6. When applied either as a pre-emergence or post emergence treatment to sugar cane a slight scorch may appear on the leaves. These symptoms are temporary and will disappear as the sugarcane plant grows. 7. Due to the specific mode of action of Authority 480SC, visual symptoms of desiccation, especially on sedges, can be delayed by up to more than 60 days. The speed at which the symptoms appear on the leaves is related to various factors such as the soil humidity, the soil type and the speed of development of the sedges. FLUE CURED TOBACCO Use the higher rate of Authority for improved broadleaf weed control and on soils with higher clay content. Apply Authority 480SC in a tank mix with Command 4SC for improved broadleaf weed and grass control. Apply Butisan S or Frontier Optima for improved grass and broadleaf control as a sequential spray and not as a tank mix, immediately after application of Authority 480SC. respective labels of Butisan S, Frontier Optima and Command 4SC. Authority 480SC should be applied within 4 days of transplanting onto a good weed-free tilth. Nozzles should be mounted over the interrow and a directed spray aimed to include the top of the ridge and the base of the plants on either side so as to avoid contact with the heart of the plant. Apply treatment with flat fan nozzles in a spray volume of up to 200ℓ/ha. Rainfall or irrigation is necessary for activation of the herbicide. Excessive rainfall and high soil moisture content may lead to incomplete weed control on the ridges due to movement of Authority 480SC. APPLICATION RATES RATE OF AUTHORITY 480SC

Simptome van oorbeligting sluit in stuipe, bewinge, verhoogde sensitiwiteit teen aanraking en klank, ongemaklik asemhaling, verminderde beweging, trane, neusontslag en motor koordinasie verlies. Enige populasie van „n spesifieke onkruid mag individue insluit wat „n natuurlike weerstand teen Authority of enige ander groepkode E onkruiddoder het. Indien hierdie onkruiddoders in herhaaldelike en eksklusiewe programme aangewend word, kan die weerstandbiedende individue uiteindelik die onkruid populasie oorheers. Hierdie weerstandbiedende onkruide sal waarskynlik nie deur Authority of enige ander groepkode E onkruiddoder beheer word nie. Om weerstand teen onkruiddoders te vertraag:  Vermy die herhaaldelike en eksklusiewe gebruik van onkruiddoders in dieselfde onkruiddoder groepkode. Wissel af met, of gebruik tenkmengsels van produkte in verskillende onkruiddoder groepkodes.  Integreer ander beheermaatreëls (chemies, verbouing, biologies) in onkruiddoder programme GEBRUIKSBEPERKINGS BY WISSELBOU Laat die volgende wagperiodes toe tussen laaste toediening van AUTHORITY 480 SC en die aanplant van opvolggewasse. Gewas Maande Gewas Maande Koring/gars 5 Katoen, suikermielies 18 Mielies, sorghum,rys 10 Suikerriet, Sojabone, 0 tabak Ander 12 kleingraangewasse, droë bone, grondbone GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS: GEBRUIK SLEGS SOOS AANGEDUI MENGINSTRUKSIES Maak die spuittenk halfvol met skoon water en begin roering. Maak „n mengsel van die aanbevole volume Authority 480SC in „n skoon emmer met skoon water. Voeg die Authority 480SC oplossing stadig by die spuittenk. Spoel die emmer versigtig uit en voeg die uitspoelsel by en maak die spuittenk dan vol met skoon water tot die geskikte volume. Verseker deeglike roering van die spuitmengsel ten alle tye om die produk in suspensie te hou. Maak seker Authority 480SC is goed gemeng voordat bevorderingsmiddel en/of tenkmengsel bygevoeg word. Gebruik Authority 480SC onmiddellik na vermenging. Moenie die spuitmengsel vir 'n lang periode laat oorstaan nie, bv. oornag. WATERKWALITEIT Gebruik alleen skoon water met „n pH < 8

SKOONMAAK VAN TOEDIENINGSAPPARAAT Dreineer die spuittenk en spuittoerusting oombliklik na toediening en spoel daarna uit met water en huishoudelike ammoniak. Verwyder daarna alle spuitkoppe en siffies en maak skoon in „n emmer skoon water en ammoniak. WEGDRYWING VAN SPUITNEWEL Verseker dat spuitnewel nie in aanraking kom met aangrensende gewasse of areas nie. Beperk die potensiaal vir spuitnewel wegdrywing deur die gebruik van laenewelspuitkoppe en moenie „n druk van 200kPa of „n grondspoed van 10kpu oorskry nie. Die spuitkoppe moet nie meer as 50cm bo die teiken wees nie. Moenie in windsnelhede van meer as 15kpu spuit nie. WYSE VAN WERKING EN AKTIVERING Na toediening van Authority 480SC as „n vooropkoms onkruidbehandeling (onkruide en die gewas) sal die teiken ontkiemende sade en saailinge die sulfentrasoon van die grondoplossing opneem. Die hoeveelheid sulfentrasoon wat in die grondoplossing is en beskikbaar is vir opname deur die onkruide word hoofsaaklik beinvloed deur die grondtipe, organiese materiaal inhoud en grond pH. Sulfentrasoon word deur die klei en organiese materiaal (OM) gedeeltes van gronde geadsorbeer, daarom is die hoeveelheid aktiewe bestanddeel wat onmiddelik beskikbaar is vir onkruidbeheer, beperk. Invloed van grondtipe, organiese materiaal en pH op die aktiwiteit van Authority 480SC : Grond pH beinvloed die beskikbaarheid van sulfentrasoon in die grond oplossing. Die beskikbaarheid van sulfentrasoon word verhoog met stygende grond pH. Besproeiing met water met‟n hoë pH (7.5 en hoër) na die toediening van Authority 480SC mag die beskikbaarheid van sulfentrasoon ook betekenisvol verbeter. Die totale hoeveelheid beskikbare sulfentrasoon in die grond oplossing in enige grondtipe word bepaal deur die interaksie van die grondtipe (klei-inhoud), die organiese inhoud en pH. Die toedieningshoeveelheid en tyd van toediening relatief tot die ontkieming van die gewas en onkruid, die hoeveelheid reënval of besproeiing ontvang, tesame met die grond parameters en pH, sall uiteindelik die hoeveelheid beskikbare sulfentrasoon in die grondoplossing bepaal. Alle toedienings van Authority 480SC het genoegsame vog nodig vir aktivering van die onkruiddodend werking. Authority 480SC kan „n tydperk van 10 tot 14 dae deurstaan voor die nodige vogtigheid om die produk te aktiveer beskikbaar is. Sodra Authority 480SC geaktifeer word, sal dit effektief wees teen bestaande onkruide. Die doetreffendheid sal afhang van die onkruidspesies en grootte ten tye van die aktivering. SUIKERRIET VOOROPKOMS TOEDIENING VIR BEHEER VAN ROOI UINTJIE (Cyperus rotundus ) IN PLANT- EN RATOENRIET In toestande waar C. rotundus „n probleem is moet spesifieke beheermaatreels toegepas word om die beheer en die infestasiepotensieël in die toekoms te verminder. Lande wat met C. rotundus besmet is het waarskynlik „n uitgebreide sisteem van rizome en bolle wat sterk plante produseer onder goeie vog toestande. Meer as een behandeling van Authority 480SC is onder sulke toestande noodsaaklik om C. rotundus te beheer en betekenisvolle vermindering van die bolpopulasie wat in opvolgplantings sal ontwikkel, te handhaaf. Om die bes moontlike voordeel te verkry behoort beheermaatreëls te begin as riet geplant word. Onder sulke toestande behoort „n program van drie behandelings met Authority 480SC in 200 tot 400 ℓ water/ha as „n vooropkoms toediening gedoen te word, die eerste by plant en direk na kap in die twee daaropvolgende ratoengewasse.

VOOROPKOMS TOEDIENING IN PLANT- EN RATOENRIET EN ONKRUIDE VIR DIE BEHEER VAN GRASSE, BREEBLARE EN GEELUINTJIE Authority 480SC toegedien as „n vooropkoms onkruidoder verskaf residuele werking vir die beheer van ontkiemende onkruidsade en saailinge. (Verwys na die Toediningshoeveelhede tabel vir die lys van onkruide beheer). Authority 480SC word deur die wortels en stingels van ontkiemende onkruide geabsorbeer en toedienings moet dus voor-opkoms op „n skoon bewerkte oppervlak toegedien word. Genoeg reënval of besproeiing is noodsaaklik om te verseker dat Authority deur die wortels en stingels van die ontkiemende onkruide opgeneem word. Om die onkruidspektrum te verbreed en die residuele nawerking te verleng, kan Authority 480 SC in „n tenkmengsel saam met ametrien, diuron, acetochlor of Command 4EC toegedien word. Verwys na die etikette van die betrokke produkte om die onkruide wat beheer sal word , asook die gebruiksaanwysings, te verkry GRONDVOORBEREIDING Plantriet: Berei die grond voor volgens goeie landboupraktyke Ratoenriet: Verwyder enige plantreste wat die grond bedek voor toediening TOEDIENING Spuittoerusting moet voor behandeling akkuraat gekalibreer word. Authority 480SC moet direk na plant as „n algehele behandeling en na kap as „n gerigte tussenryspuit (ratoenriet) voor opkoms van die plantriet of ratoenriet, toegedien word. Dien Authority 480SC toe teen die aanbevole dosis as „n algehele toediening in genoeg water (200 – 400 l/ha ) om goeie bedekking van die grondoppervlak te verseker. Authority 480 SC toegedien teen die laer dosis sal alleenlik geeluintjie (C. esculentus) beheer. Die doetreffendheid van Authority 480SC word nie deur lig of temperatuur beinvloed nie. Die produk is nie vlugbaar nie en daarom sal „n toediening op droë grond vir „n aansienlike periode na toediening op die grondoppervlak bly totdat dit geaktiveer word deur reënval of besproeiing. Grondtipe: Dien Authority 480SC toe as „n vooropkoms behandeling in gronde met „n klei inhoud >15%. Die gebruik van „n vooropkoms toediening van Authority 480SC op gronde met „n laer klei-inhoud mag die effektiwiteit van die produk nadelig beinvloed. Verhoog die dosis namate die klei- inhoud en katioonuitruilvermoë van die grond toeneem. Gebruik hoer toedieningshoeveelhede in gronde met „n pH laer as 7.0 en laer hoeveelhede vir „n pH hoër as 7.0 binne die aanbevole toedieningshoeveelhede. VROEG NA-OPKOMS TOEDIENING OP PLANT- EN RATOENRIET EN ONKRUIDE VIR BEHEER VAN GRASSE, BREEBLARE EN GEELUINTJIE Waar „n gemengde populasie onkruide reeds begin ontkiem het, kan Authority 480 SC saam met MCPA, ametrien, parakwat of Trooper320SL in „n tenkmengsel toegedien word. Hierdeur sal verbeterde uitklop en residuele beheer van ontkiemende onkruide verkry word, en die onkruidspektrum sal verbreed word. Onder sekere omstandighede mag residuele beheer ook verleng word deur die toevoeging van „n produk in „n tenkmengsel. Die toediening moet geskied wanner uintjies nie ouer is as die 1-4 blaarstadium nie, grasse 1-2 blare het en alvorens die breeblare hoer as 30 mm is. Raadpleeg asb die verskillende etikette om die onkruidspektrum te besigtig. Die SASRI Onkruidgids kan ook geraadpleeg word. Die voorskrifte tov die Toediening en Grondtipe soos vor die vooropkomstoedienings geld ook hier. LAAT NA-OPKOMS TOEDIENINGS OP PLANT- EN RATOENRIET VIR DIE BEHEER VAN GEELUINTJIE Wanneer Authority 480SC na-opkoms toegedien word beheer dit geeluintjie (Cyperus esculentis). blaar stadium. Die na-opkomsdosis van Authority 480SC alleen sal slegs kort termyn beheer van die geeluintjie gee, met beperkte grondnawerking en rooiuintjie mag onderdruk word. Waar die onkruidspektrum van so „n aard is dat meer as net geeluintjies beheer moet word, kan Authority 480 SC toegdien word in „n tenkmengsel met MCPA, soos hieronder uiteengesit. Die na- opkoms dosis van Authority 480SC alleen sal onvoldoende beheer gee van onkruide wat nog nie ontkiem het nie. GRONDVOORBEREIDING Na-opkoms toediening Verwyder enige plantreste wat die grond bedek voor toediening anders sal penetrasie en opname van die spuitmengsel nadelig beinvloed word. TOEDIENING Dien die aanbevole dosis Authority 480SC toe as „n algehele behandeling in genoeg water (200-400 ℓ water/ha) om goeie bedekking van die grondoppervlak te verseker. Dien Authority 480SC toe in kombinasie met „n geskikte bevorderingsmiddel [nie-ionies: mineraal olie: organosilikoon] (bv. Tronic, Break-Thru, Agral 90) op geeluintjie (C. esculentus) vanaf die 6 – 8-blaar stadium. Die na-opkoms dosis van Authority 480SC sal onvoldoende beheer gee van onkruide wat nog nie ontkiem het nie. Die doeltreffendheid van Authority 480SC kan ook deur grondtipe en tekstuur beinvloed word. Onkruidbeheer word normaalweg swakker wanneer die grondtekstuur verander van grof tot fyn. Daarom verhoog die dosisse binne die aanbevelings namate die kleiinhoud en katioonuitruilvermoë van die grond toeneem. 5. Volg alle aanbevelings van die vervaardiger op die etiket wanneer tenkmengsels word gebruik.

Ligte blaarskroei mag voorkom wanneer Authority 480SC as „n voor-opkom of na-opkom behandeling in suikerriet toegedien word. Hierdie simptome is tydelik en sal verdwyn namate die suikerriet groei. 7. Weens die spesifieke manier van werking van Authority 480SC mag die sigbare simptome, veral op uintjies, meer as 60 dae neem om te ontwikkel. Faktore soos grondvog, grondtipe en groeitempo van die uintjies beinvloed die ontwikkeling van sigbare simptome op die uintjie blare. 6.

OONDROOGTABAK Gebruik die hoër dosis van AUTHORITY 75WG vir beter beheer van breëblaar onkruide en op gronde met 'n hoër klei-inhoud. Om beter beheer van breëblaar onkruide en grasse te verkry dien AUTHORITY 480SC toe in 'n tenkmengsel met Command 4 SC soos aangedui. Dien Butisan S of Frontier Optima toe as 'n opvolgbehandeling direk na die toediening van Authority 480SC vir beter beheer van grasse en breëblaar onkruide en nie as 'n tenkmengsel nie. Raadpleeg die Butisan S of Frontier Optima en Command 4 SC etikette vir volledige gebruiksaanwysings. Dien Authority 480SC toe binne 4 dae na oorplant op 'n fyn bewerkte onkruidvrye land. Spuitkoppe moet oor die tussen-rye gemonteer word om 'n gerigte bespuiting wat die bo kant van die bankie en die onderstam van albei kante van die plante tref maar vermy kontak met die kelk van die plant. Dien toe met platwaaier spuitkoppe in 200 l water / ha. Reënval of besproeing is noodsaaklik vir die aktivering van die produk.
