Inaugural programme of a newly constructed Primary School at 9/2 Beadon Square (Rabindra Kanan) Kolkata, Ward No-26 under Borough IV :

Brief History and overview of The Kolkata Municipal Corporation The historic city of Kolkata is situated in the banks of River Hooghly. Kolkata, one of the largest metropolis of India, since its founding more than 300 years ago, has undergone ribbon development.

Inaugural programme of newly constructed Primary School at 9/2 Beadon Square (Rabindra Kanan) Kolkata, Ward No-26 under Borough -IV was held on July 26, 2017.The programme was inaugurated by Avijit Mukherjee, Hon'ble MMIC (Education).Honorable dignitaries present in the programme were Dr. Shashi Panja Minister of State, Department for Woman and Child Development, Social Welfare , Govt. of West Bengal, Swapan Samaddar MMIC (Environment and Bustee Development), Smita Bakshi Chairperson Borough -IV.

It intends to transform itself into a more attractive town ensuring all households in the KMC area adequate and equitable access to basic services, giving special emphasis to proper drainage and solid waste management assuring increase in education to all the target groups, enhancement in awareness levels and provision of primary health care, encouragement in sport and cultural activities, ensuring gainful employment with special focus on youth enabling environment for business and enterprising activities so that the KMC becomes a Citizen - friendly Corporation in future.

Some more Achievements Workshop on differentiations of Industrial Ice and potable Ice : On July 28, 2017 a Workshop on differentiations of Industrial Ice and potable Ice was held in Council Chamber at CMO building.Where Hon'ble Mayor and MIC Housing, Environment, Fire and Emergency Services Sovan Chatterjee, Hon'ble Chairperson Mala Roy, Hon'ble MMIC (Health) Atin Ghosh , Commissioner of Food Safty, West Bengal, officials of FAAAI, Hon'ble Borough Chairpersons, Hon'ble MMIC and CIC of adjoining corporations, Municipalities and officials of KMC were present. In the workshop two speakers were Dr. Jagabandhu Chakraborty, Ex- Director Central Food Laboratory and Asish Jhunjhunwala, Director of Hindustan Ice & Cold Storage Co.Ltd.It was decided in the workshop that a committee would be formed to study the matter in details and find ways to differentiate Industrial Ice from Potable Ice and use of Potable Ice in All Prepared Food & Drink in and around Kolkata.

Inauguration of three LED Display Vehicles: On August 02, 2017 Hon'ble Mayor and MIC Housing , Environment , Fire and Emergency Services Govt.of West Bengal Sovan Chatterjee -- flagged off three vans fitted with LED screens that would show a 15 - minute documentary on dengue & spread awareness about the disease in all wards under civic jurisdiction. The video will show how the disease spreads and the measures that the civic body is taking in order to fight it. The programme was presided over by Hon'ble MMIC (Health) Atin Ghosh in presence of Jt Mpl.Commissioner (G & D) Tapas Chowdhury,& other officials of KMC and many persons.

Unveiling of Bust of Shahid Kshudiram & inauguration of roadside garden in borough -I : On August 12, 2017 Hon'ble MoS Women and Child Development, Social Welfare Govt. of W.B. Dr. Shashi Panja unveiled a newly renovated and beautified bust of Shahid Kshudiram and inaugurated a newly constructed beautiful roadside garden at Kshirod Prasad Bidyabinod Avenue adjacent to Mayer Bari in Bagbazar Street, Ward No.-07 under Borough -I. The programme was graced by the honorable presence of MP Sudip Banerjee, MMIC (Parks & Gardens, Sports, Parking, Advt.) Debasish Kumar, Chairman Borough- I Tarun Saha , Councilor Ward -07 Bapi Ghosh, officials of KMC and local people.

Inauguration of beautiful fountain at Ekdalia Road under Borough -VIII:

On August 07,2017 Hon'ble MIC (Rural Development, Panchayet and PHE) Govt. of West Bengal Subrata Mukherjee inaugurated a beautiful fountain at Ekdalia Road, Ward No.-68 under Borough VIII. Hon'ble Councillor of Ward No.-68 Sudarshana Mukherjee presided over the inaugural ceremony in gracious presence of Hon'ble MMIC (parks & Gardens, Parking, Sports and Advertisement) Debasish Kumar, Hon'ble MMIC (Lighting ) Manzer Iqbal and many other dignitaries.

Different cultural programmes organized by KMC KMC celebrated 71st Independence Day of India : 71st Independence Day of India has been celebrated at KMC Head Quarter Premises on August 15, 2017. Hon’ble Mayor and MIC Housing, Environment, Fire and Emergency Services Govt. of W.B. Sovan Chatterjee hoisted tri-colour National Flag and also received Guard of Honor. Civic Volunteers along with Kolkata Police Band took part in the March-Past ceremony. School Teachers of KMCP School sang National Song and KMCP School students also presented a dance recital. Jt. Municipal Commissioner (G) Tapas Chowdhury, Municipal Secretary Harihar Prasad Mandal and dignitaries present offered floral tribute to the Shahid Bedi.
