System Requirements – KnowledgeTrak Version 2016 Mediware supports its KnowledgeTrak™ and K-Book™ software products on the following client platforms:

Client Devices Client devices are those that connect to the web server to run KnowledgeTrak 2016 software. Intel-based Notebooks and Desktop PCs Intel-based Notebooks and Desktop PCs meeting the minimum hardware requirements listed and running one of the operating systems and browser combinations listed below and configured with the required third party software components listed under each. Minimum Hardware Requirements o Meets or exceeds the hardware requirements specified by its operating system o SVGA Display capable of displaying at least 1024 x 768 pixels in 16-bit color o Windows compatible audio hardware o Network Interface Card (wired or Wi-Fi) o 50MB of free disk space o Mouse or compatible pointing device Supported Operating System / Browser Requirements Windows 7® / Internet Explorer 11 or Firefox 15 (with the following third party software) o Windows Media Player 12 o Adobe Acrobat Reader v10 o Adobe FLASH Player v11 Windows 8® / Internet Explorer 11 (with the following third party software) o Windows Media Player 12 o Adobe Acrobat Reader v10 o Adobe FLASH Player v11 Windows 10® / Internet Explorer 11 (with the following third party software) o Windows Media Player 12 o Adobe Acrobat Reader v10 o Adobe FLASH Player v11 Apple Desktop and Notebook PCs Apple Desktop and Notebook PCs with a display resolution of at least 1024 x 768 and running one of the operating systems and browser combinations listed below and be configured with the required third party software components listed under each. Windows 8 Tablets / Internet Explorer 11 (with the following third party software) o Windows Media Player 12 o Adobe Acrobat Reader v10 o Adobe FLASH Player v11 Windows 10 ® / Internet Explorer 11 (with the following third party software) o Windows Media Player 12 o Adobe Acrobat Reader v10 o Adobe FLASH Player v11 Apple iPad (iOS 7, iOS 8, iOS 9) / Safari 6 (with the following third party software) o QuickTime (preinstalled) Notes / Limitations: 

The iPad does not support FLASH and therefore cannot play FLASHbased content that may associated with online training content  The integrated PDF viewer included with Safari for iPad may not be capable of rendering complex PDF files  Training and audio content containing .wav, .avi, or similar files may not be supported on the iPad.  Safari for iPad displays all pages in full screen mode which can make navigation appear more complex when dealing with confirmation dialogs and other pop-up screens. Android 4.x / Chrome 21 (with the following third party software) o No third party software required for basic operation. Notes / Limitations:  

 

Many Android tablets do not support FLASH and therefore cannot play FLASH-based content that may associated with online training content Chrome for Android does not support plug-ins so the Adobe PDF viewer cannot be installed. The integrated PDF viewer included with Chrome for Android may not be capable of rendering complex PDF files. Training and audio content containing .wav, .avi, or similar files may not be supported on all Android based tablets. Chrome for Android displays all pages in full screen mode which can make navigation appear more complex when dealing with confirmation dialogs and other pop-up screens.

Servers Servers are the computer(s) on which the applications and database are installed, and to which Client PCs connect to run the applications. Mediware Hosted Solutions Mediware hosted solutions will provide and maintain servers in secure, redundant datacenters, with 99.99% guaranteed network up-time and multiple Tier 1 backbone providers. Servers run Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Server® or later software and provide all services and functionality required to host and run the Customer’s KnowledgeTrak and K-Book software for the licensed number of users. Customer Hosted LAN-based Solutions Mediware software may be licensed for installation on the customer’s servers. To insure proper operation and performance customer provided servers must meet the following requirements. 1.

Windows Server 2008 or 2012 A. Microsoft Windows Server® 2008 / 2008 R2 (32 bit or 64 bit) with the following software installed and properly configured  

ASP.Net Framework 3.5 and 4.0 Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS7) with the following Roles installed and configured o Common HTTP Features – All features o Application Development – All features o Health and Diagnostics – All features o Security – The following features (as a minimum):  Basic Authentication  Request Filtering  Client Certificate Mapping  Request Filtering o Management Tools – The following features (as a minimum):  IIS Management Console  IIS 6 Management Compatibility (for SMTP)  IIS 6 Management Console (for SMTP) Microsoft Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) Microsoft Collaborative Data Objects (CDO) Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 RS2 or 2012 o Co-resident or installed on separate server Database instance must be at least at a compatibility level of 90 or higher (SQL Server 2005 compatible or higher)

B. Microsoft Windows Server® 2012 / 2012 R2 (32 bit or 64 bit) with the following software installed and properly configured  

Hardware properly sized and configured for the anticipated user load. The suggested minimum server hardware configuration would meet or exceed the following:   

2 dual-core Xeon processors @ 2.4GHz 8 GB RAM 2 mirrored disk arrays utilizing 7200 RPM or faster spindles, sized appropriately for the amount of anticipated content and partitioned properly for OS, SQL Server, and data.
