PASTOR’S CORNER

April 17th, 2016 Welcome all Parishioners and Visitors! Happy Lord’s Day! “I know them, and they follow me.” These are the words Jesus speaks in today’s Gospel passage, regarding us. He knows us! This tiny word encompasses so much more than we might think. To truly know another person is to understand everything about them, their talents, flaws, and quirks. The Lord searches deep in our hearts, and knows us through and through. And with that knowledge, He loves us. What a beautiful mystery! That the Lord can see all that we are, even our sinfulness, and still love us with a complete and endless love, a love that was accomplished on the Cross. Pope Francis has just released a Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation called Amoris Laetitia (The Joy of Love), to Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, Consecrated Persons, Christian Married Couples, and all the Lay Faithful on Love in the Family. It’s a beautiful read, detailing the thoughts and prayers of the Synod on the importance of the family and its role as center of love and learning in the Church. Y’all take some time and check it out! Through the Pierced Hearts of Jesus & Mary!
