Also this year, selected kite makers will be highlighted with fly times specifically focused for all to fly their kites! Throughout the day, experience the thrill of watching single line, dual line and quad line kite flyers perform their aerial acrobatics taking place on Field 4. Try learning how to fly indoors at our indoor workshops in the Wildwoods Convention Center. Become a part of the judging panel for the Open Individual Outdoor Unlimited sport kite competition happening on Field 4 - c’mon down off the boardwalk and be a part of the events! Inside the Wildwoods Convention Center, more fun’s to be had with kite exhibits, workshops and indoor flying. Outside workshops on the field will also prevail. Workshops presented in the morning are geared for kite enthusiasts and afternoon workshops are geared for the public. The WIKF Auction will be held on Saturday night in the Ballroom at the Convention Center and is open to the public! Our Silent Auction begins at 7:00pm and the Loud Auction begins at 8:00pm. Thank you very much in advance for your generosity!!! Sunday, May 29 A second day of great competition and kite flying is planned for Sunday! Competition continues as the East Coast Stunt Kite Championships wrap up. Another fun day for the public ensues at the Learn To Fly Field, Candy Drop, Rokkaku Challenge, Rev Games and our Ground Display judging, all happening on Fields 1, 2, & 3, and the Festival Field throughout the day. Selected kite makers will again be highlighted with fly times specifically focused for all to fly their kites! Throughout the day, Experience the thrill once again of watching single line, dual line and quad line kite flyers perform their aerial acrobatics taking place on Field 4. Returning this year is the Scott E. Spencer Memorial Wildwood Kitemakers Competition, sponsored by the South Jersey Kite Flyers! Competition will be in three categories: Judges’ Choice, Kitemakers’ Choice and Novice. All entries will be flown together at the designated time. All judges and kitemakers will walk from kite to kite together, with each kitemaker being given a short time to discuss their kite and reel it in to show off any special parts (the idea is for kitemakers to learn from each other). After all kites have been seen, the judges will choose a winner for Judges’ Choice and the competitors will vote for Kitemaker’s Choice. Each 1st place winner of the judges’ Choice and Kitemakers’ Choice will receive a $100 cash prize. The top Novice Kitemaker wins memberships in both the AKA and SJKF. All prizes are sponsored by SJKF! All kites must be handmade by the entrant. No proxies. Multiple entries are permitted for one entry fee. Please note that our definition of novice is anyone making kites for three years or less who has not won an award at any other competition in a previous year.

Inside the Wildwoods Convention Center the exhibits, workshops and indoor flying continues as does the outside workshops on the field! After a day filled with fun and good times, why not carry that in to the evening? Join us for this year’s themed banquet, Movie Greats! Beginning at 6:30pm in the Wildwoods Convention Center Ballroom, tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Come join in the fun. Come dressed as your favorite movie character! To ensure availability and for head-count purposes, please RSVP with this registration form as soon as possible. Come and join in the fun! Monday, May 30 Today brings another type of competition –the World Indoor Kite Competition in the Wildwoods Convention Center! Indoor Mega-Fly For years now small numbers, usually solo, sometimes pairs and occasionally as many as 5 indoor kite flyers together, perform and amaze audiences. Indoors and out kites have been segregated by the number of lines needed to fly them. It’s time to change all that, or at least have a great time trying! New this year, the Wildwood International Kite Festival invites indoor flyers of Dual, Quad, (and maybe even single line) controllable kites to come together to set a new standard for indoor performance. If you fly indoors you will want to be part of this; if you don’t you’ll want to see it! What is it? Is it a mega-fly? Is it a mass ascension? Is it a choreographed routine? It’s all of these. It’s mixed indoor sport kite formation flying. (All participants, bring a 12’ line set for your kite. Matching our line lengths is integral to success) Lodging Once again our host hotel this year is the Oceanic Motel located at 4600 Ocean Ave at the corner of E. Burke Ave, directly across from the Wildwoods Convention Center. A variety of room styles are available with rates - remaining the same as last year with no increase! - beginning at $248 for three nights. Additional room nights begin as low as $70 per night. Amenities include pool, pool bar, outside Jacuzzi and a cocktail bar. Call 609 522 6500 for information and be sure to mention you are with the Kite Festival to receive the discounted rate.

Are you an Ambassador to kiting? In an effort to attract spectators and new kite fliers to our sport, Sky Festivals is working diligently to include events such as a Learn to Fly field, Running of the Bols, Candy Drop, Rev Games, etc. In this spirit we are asking all of our fliers to kindly complete and return with this registration the attached “Fliers Bio”. The Flier’s Bio will be one more piece in informing spectators of whom we all are and thereby extending a personalization with the hopes that they begin to feel like a part of our kiting community and join us. Your effort both with this Bio and openness of taking new folks under our wings can only result in growth in all areas of kiting. Imagine, if each of us got one person involved at each event we attended, how quickly or sport would grow!
