SAFE

SAFE – Our Values The values of Havator can be summed up in four key points: Safety, Activity, Flexibility and Experience. Safety means working safely one day at a time. Activity means to look for new customers, opportunities and methods. Flexibility is to find new and innovative solutions for our customers. Experience is built on references and continuous development of best practices. It is therefore not a coincidence that our values can be summed up in one word: ”SAFE”. In its own field, Havator has the reputation of being a forerunner in safety. Our calling card reads ”Safety First”. In order to improve work safety, we have been determined to develop our operations in accordance with the best practices in the field. Our customers expect the best from us and set our standards accordingly, which has continu-

ously helped us to learn new things. Safety is a substantial part of our corporate identity, and we are committed to advancing it even further. We want to meet our customers’ individual requirements and develop diverse alternatives for their new needs. In order to succeed it takes commitment, the desire to learn, and the ability to keep promises. An active approach is of essential importance – regardless of whether we do business with existing customers or cater to new clients. We are able to save the buyer’s resources and ensure smooth operations by combining planning services, special transportation, and lifting services tailored to the relevant customer requirements. When responsibility for implementing transportation and lifting rests with a single operator, the customer can trust that schedules and cost assessments are successfully met. Just wanting to do something is not enough to perform demanding jobs: both professional, experienced staff and the right tools are needed as well. The advantages of our versatile and modern fleet are best

seen in situations when alternative solutions or more resources are needed – fast and flexibly. We provide our customers with the most comprehensive fleet for lifting and special transportation in the Nordic countries and, in addition, a team of 600 professionals. We are continuously recruiting young future experts to work alongside our experienced professionals. We wish to meet the challenges given to us by our customers with the best team and fleet possible. Safe working methods, cost efficiency and meeting schedules can be best ensured by working on the project preparatory work together with the customer from the planning phase onwards. This requires commitment and mutual trust. Our highest goal is to be worthy of this trust. Erkki Hanhirova, Group President Jussi Yli-Niemi, CEO

Havator – Whatever It Takes Havator is a company that focuses on all kinds of movements, both vertically and horizontally as well as concrete installation. Havator operates within all the Nordic countries. The Group’s basic activities are also supplemented with some harbour crane operations, both in Norway and Finland. Within its field, the Group is one the leading players in the Nordic region. The company’s primary operations are preferably performed with mobile cranes, heavy trailers and other special equipment for heavier handling and of course with

FACTS ABOUT HAVATOR • • •

Havator has operations in crane services, special transport, element installation and the harbour crane service. The area of specialisation within the group focuses on project solutions in collaboration with competent partners. Havator operates in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Russia, and in the Baltic states. Havator has a turnover of EUR 100 million and has almost 600 employees.

know how that is hard to beat. In order to manage operations in all the Nordic countries, Havator has built up a comprehensive network of depots from Hammarfest in the north to Kalmar in the south. The idea is to be close to the customer and to be able to solve customer problems effectively. Local contacts and closeness to customers are important. However, at the same time, together the network must be able to carry out large projects requiring special resources as well as various special skills.

It should be just as easy for Havator to operate not only locally but also nationally in both small and large projects. Customers should feel comfortable in their contacts with the company not only in large but also small projects. In order to assist the local depots, there are a number of specialists available at different depots, who, thanks to good education and considerable experience, can create solutions to very complex customer problems.

Havator’s Scandinavian Network

4

Havator has a network of depots throughout Scandinavia that enable quick and efficient movement of resources as needed. The majority of the depots are in the vicinity of large urban areas or industries. Ferry connections between Vasa and Umeå and the E4 motorway between Haparanda and Tornio create great possibilities between Sweden and Finland. Most customers seek to obtain a complete and cost-effective service. With its flexibility and versatility, Havator can provide solutions for these wishes. “We can offer planning, special transports and crane services in a flexible manner where the customer determines

the complexity of the solution. Through collaboration between our operations we are able to streamline and rationalise customer resources and create synergies”, says Erkki Hanhirova, group president of Havator. “The best way to guarantee quality, safety, cost-effectiveness and the time plan is to already plan projects together with the customer at the outset. This requires trust and partnership from both parties”, says Jussi Yli-Niemi, Managing Director of Havator. The advantages of having a player who is responsible for the entire planning and implementation, is that the customer can to a

significant degree rely on the time plan and cost calculations being maintained. Ambitions and a strong desire to carry out the work are not enough; instead skilled and experienced personnel and the right equipment are required. “Our customers have access to the most comprehensive fleet of machines and cranes and special transport vehicles together with 600 skilled experts. Out strong service offering is shown in the trust our customers have in us in the form of new orders and project work in industrial, mining, energy and infrastructure projects throughout the Nordic countries”, Yli-Niemi concludes.

Havator Engineering 6

Havator Engineering is the Group’s own planning department consisting of experts within logistics, engineering and building technology in both Sweden and Finland. The objective is to solve technical problems pertaining to transport, lifting and installa-

tion and to find the best possible technical/ economic solutions to the needs of the customer for each project. The Planning Department also functions as sales support by carrying out feasibility studies and investigations as the customer’s lifts

Our business is built on the Safety First concept. Together with the professional expertise of our personnel, strong design engineering competence and first-rate machinery, safety forms the backbone of our operations. Havator is a Nordic leader in occupational safety in its line of business. We intend to maintain our leadership in the future. Our systems have been designed to meet the leading standards, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001, and are certified for compliance with them. We are continuously working to improve our systems on the basis of customer requirements and handson experience. A certificate awarded and controlled by Det Norske Veritas, an internationally recognized accreditation organization, helps to measure and ensure the quality of our operations.

Your Nordic Project Partner Havator’s strength as a supplier of crane services is based on several master-key factors. A variable and modern fleet of machines is one of them. Among other things, Havator’s fleet of machines includes two-hundred hydraulic mobile cranes with a capacity up to 1,200 tonnes and a comprehensive fleet of machines with crawler-mounted lattice boom cranes with the crawler-mounted 1,250 tonne model. Havator’s fleet of machines is well-known for there not being any lift that is too large or too small. In all, there are more than 300 different cranes of different types and sizes in Havator’s fleet of machines.

Kiruna, Sweden.

Among the cranes offered, there are 50 project cranes in the heavy-duty category that are used together with versatile special equipment for more demanding project work. Other strengths are a network of depots with local knowledge and “Safety First”. “Safety First” is Havator’s watchword that stands for a homogenous safety philosophy for creating a safe and sustainable environment for customers, employees and society. Our management system ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 are indicative of our work with sustainable services.

Havator does not need to compromise or risk safety when lifting since the best and sustainable solution can always be found in our fleet of machines and the skills that are continuously improved and adapted as needed, both with regard to the customer and the market. There are significant synergies and strengths in having other business areas such as transport and installation making the total ‘Your Nordic Project Partner’ undertaking possible. More than often, Havator will offer the most effective solutions.
