Image Deposit Direct Installation Guide

Before You Begin

Confirm the following before beginning the set up of Image Deposit Direct (IDD): 

PC should use a high speed Internet connection.



This installation will be taking place on the PC that will be used in production.



Scanner has been unpacked and assembled.



Scanner is connected to the PC (USB cord).



Scanner is NOT plugged in to power source.



Scanner is at least 18 inches from any device that creates an electromagnetic field (fans, heaters, CRTs, CPUs, etc.).



If you are running other check scanner software on your computer, it is highly likely that the J.P. Morgan scanner may not operate correctly.



If you have a technology department, check with a representative to ensure you have administrative rights to install software on your computer.



The Image Search capability will require Adobe® Flash® Player version 8 or higher.

Setting up Internet Explorer 1. Open a new Internet Explorer window. 2. Click Tools and choose Internet Options.

RESULT: The Internet Options dialog box displays.

Security options 1. Click the Security Tab. 2. Click Trusted sites and then click Sites.

4. Type the following URL address in the Add the Web site to the zone: field, then click Add. https://www.itms-online.com 5. Click OK to add the sites to the trusted sites list. RESULT: The Internet Options dialog box displays.

ActiveX controls and plug-ins Download Signed Active X controls Disable Enable Prompt Download Unsigned Active X controls Disable Enable Prompt Downloads File Download Disable Enable Prompt Miscellaneous Display Mixed Content Disable Enable Prompt

Please note: Your organization’s IT support may require these options be set to “Prompt”. Please note that the installation process will run more smoothly if all the above options are set to “Enable.”

8. Click OK to return to the Internet Options dialog box. (You may receive a pop up box that states “Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?” If you do, just click “yes”)

Advanced options 1. Click the Advanced tab to display a list of advanced settings and scroll down to the Security settings and find Use TLS 1.0.

 Use TLS 1.0 will be almost at the bottom of the list.

2. Verify that Use TLS 1.o is checked. IMPORTANT: This security setting MUST be checked.

3. Click OK. RESULT: Internet Options dialog box closes.

Pop-up Blocker – how to turn it off 1. Click Tools and point to Pop-up Blocker.

If…

Then…

If Turn Off Pop-up Blocker displays (as shown above),

Go to the next step (on the next page)

If Turn On Pop-up Blocker displays,

3. Type the following URL address in the Add the Web site to the zone: field, then click Add. https://www.itms-online.com Please note: Due to the wide variety of pop-up blockers available, it is not possible to list them all. Please change the settings on your specific pop-up blockers to allow access to the URL addresses listed above.

Installing image viewing software (AlternaTIFF) 1. Navigate to the Web address: https://www.itms-online.com

2. Click the AlternaTIFF link in the phrase “recommends using AlternaTIFF as your TIFF viewer”

RESULT: The AlternaTIFF home page displays.

If… AlternaTIFF is already installed,

Then… You will be able to see the message at the bottom of the screen, as shown below. Go to Scanner Setup

AlternaTIFF is not installed,

The message at the bottom of the screen will not display. Go to the next step to install the viewer. It is possible that you may be able to see an image on the screen, but AlternaTiff is not installed. You will only know this when you want to see a check image that has been scanned and the check will not display. At that point, you will have to install AlternaTiff software.

4. Click the Auto-install AlternaTIFF Active X Control link in the top part of the screen.

RESULT: The viewer is installed and the bottom portion of the screen turns black and you are prompted to register the viewer.

TIFF Viewer not registered. Click here to register.

RESULT: The AlternaTIFF plug-in registration window displays.

6. Select the Automatic Registration radio button, then click Next.

7. Complete the following required fields: 

Name



Company



E-mail address



The remaining fields are optional; there is no need to complete them.

8. Click Next. RESULT:

Setting up scanner and installing Altova

Scanner 1. Return to the ITMS Web site https://www.itms-online.com .

You should have been provided with a user id and password. If not, please call 866-463-1470.



You will receive a prompt to “Change Your Password”.



Passwords must be at least eight characters and include at least one number and one letter.

EXAMPLES: A1234567 or 1ABCDEFG

3. Change the password from the current password that was provided to a new one.

RESULT: The Start screen displays.

5. Click the Create Deposit tab. ClientThe NameCreate Deposit window displays. RESULT:

6. Click Setup in the lower left of the screen.

Please note: A pop-up box may prompt you to restart your computer. If you choose to restart at this time, you will need to log back in to the Web site ( https://www.itms-online.com ) using your new password, click the Create Deposit tab and click Setup. Other pop-ups may display in the lower right portion of the screen; these can be ignored.

Image Deposit Direct Installation Guide RESULT: The RDM Scanner Control Manager Installation options dialog box displays. Please note: Depending on network traffic and your connection speed, this part of the installation may take up to 10 minutes.

7. Click Yes to install the scanner control and drivers. RESULT: The installation status bar displays.

Scanner control software installation (Altova) After the scanner control manager and drivers have downloaded, a pop-up box prompting you to plug in the power cord displays. Click OK to install the drivers and Altova software.

1. Plug the scanner power cord into a power source when prompted to do so. RESULT: This screen displays as the installation is taking place.

Altova will automatically install when the scanner is plugged in. When the installation is complete, the License Agreement displays.

2. Click I accept the terms in the license agreement. 3. Click Next to continue.

RESULT: The Setup - Web Page Dialog window displays.

Image Deposit Direct Installation Guide 4. Load one check into the scanner hopper.

Please note: 

It is normal to hear sounds from the scanner as it runs diagnostics.



Tap the checks on a flat surface to ensure the bottoms and leading edges of the checks are even.



Load the checks into the scanner hopper with the writing on the front of the check facing the outside of the scanner toward the logo.



Review your scanner user manual for details regarding your scanner. If you did not receive your user’s manual, please contact us at 866-463-1470.

5. Click Scan.

When a check is scanned, an image of the check displays on the computer screen as shown below.

6. Choose the appropriate scanner from the drop-down list.

7. Click Save, and then click Cancel to complete the scan.
