and I’m a C/B scout w/ P/T #

I’m selling popcorn so I can

.

.

(go to summer camp / pay for my scouting program) I have a goal of $

.

You can help me reach my goal by trying some of my popcorn! Will you please help me? If no, remember that they can also donate to our military. If already purchased, ask if they would like to help me and order additional.

#5 Communicate with your Families Make each scout’s sale a family activity. Have fun selling together. Use email, social media, and family gatherings to remind families about: • • • •

Sales goal for each Scout Key sale dates Scout rewards available Online selling

Help a Scout plan to $700 and BEYOND!

3 $300 2 $200 2 $200

$700

I work at least two booths and I should get about $150.00 each time I work at least 2 hours. I signed up for the following: & _ By talking to my family & friends AND with my parents talking to their friends at work I should get at least the amount. But I have to ask in order to get the sale. By going around in my neighborhood & knocking on doors I should be able to get this amount. BUT I need my parent’s help as I know even as an older scout it’s unsafe for me to sell by myself.

Site Sales Make arrangements for Scouts to set up in front of stores to sell.

• • • • • • •

Ask store manager for permission IN ADVANCE Assign Scouts (2-3) and parents in two hour blocks DO NOT open up microwave boxes. Divide sales equally among Scouts who participate Use leftover product to fulfill take order needs Apply donations received towards your military sales. DO NOT SHOW UP DAY OF SALE AND DOUBLE BOOK A LOCATION

Take Order Tips Scouts use an order form to go door-to-door and sell to family and friends.

• Create a “Blitz Day” to have Dens sell as a group activity • Have parent(s) take an order form to work – Table Tent order form • Have older boys work with younger boys to develop leadership. REMEMBER! Two out of three people will buy when asked, but less than 20% of households are contacted.

How to Handle

Site Sale Military Donations Donations are “Take Order” and entered in $25 increments.

Split evenly between boys, but remember to separate out donations between “Take Order” and “Show and sell”.

For example, 10 boys sold $200 in product and $55 in military donations. Each boy would get $25 credit with $5 donated to the unit. $50 in Military donations would be Included in the “Take Order” entry at the end of the sale.

Credit Cards • Increase your site sales by including the ability to take CREDIT CARD payments. • Popular vendors like Paypal, Square, etc. allow you to customize a page and accept payments through tablets or smartphone. • Takes about 1-2 weeks to request and set-up. Prepare in advance.
