Housing Sign-Up Policies Incomplete Groups:  Incomplete groups will be housed as they arrive to housing sign-ups.  Groups of four, interested in living in Watson Village, will be placed in the same apartment until a complete group is formed to fill the space.  Students without a group are encouraged to attend the roommate mixers and join the “Roommate Finder” discussion board on WUSync. Ranks:  Ranks are based on the total student population eligible to sign-up for housing, including commuters and known 5th year seniors. Typically ranks range from 1-1100 depending on that year’s enrollment. Generally just over 950 students sign-up for housing.  Group ranks will be determined by the average rank of 75% of the group. This is to support groups formed based on relationships and not on each other’s housing rank. Housing Requirement and Room Change: Wingate requires that all full-time undergraduate students live on-campus unless meeting the following exceptions:       

The student is living in the principal residence of their parents/guardians. The student is 23 years old on or before the first day of classes. The student is a ninth semester Wingate senior. The student is married and living with their spouse. Students wishing to commute may apply for commuter status by completing the commuter application form in the Residence Life Office Students who sign a lease before receiving written approval for their Commuter Application may be responsible for housing charges should their appeal be denied. Wingate University reserves the right to make administrative room-changes without consent of the resident student(s).
