This LED retrofit product is UL Classified for use with Washington Series, manufactured by Holophane only. DO NOT install into any other manufacturer’s luminaire. To maintain existing Luminaires’ UL listing, the LED retrofit kit must be UL Classified for use with the manufacturer and model of existing luminaire. Consult CREE Customer support to see if other luminaires are classified to be used with this LED Retrofit kit. NOTE: Consult your local authority regarding disposal or recycling of removed ballast, capacitor and lamp.

Disconnect power to fixture. Verify the existing luminaire model. See Figure 1.

Disconnect the Lamp Socket Wires and the Photocell wires, if present, and discard the terminal block assembly. On the inside of the ballast Compartment, remove the (2) screws securing the lamp socket to the bottom surface of the globe. See Figure 4.

Loosen the (2) bolts securing the Ballast Compartment Door to the housing and separate the assembly from the housing. See Figure 2.

Remove the Lens Cap and Finial assembly and set aside. See Figure 5.

Disconnect the wire harness and set the ballast assembly aside. Separate the terminal block bracket by removing the screw securing it to the inside of the housing. Replace the screw for future ground connection. See Figure 3.

Remove the Lamp and Lamp socket from the globe by lifting it out and discard. See Figure 6.

10. Carefully remove the red plastic protective wrap form the LEDs by peeling it back by the label and avoid touching the LEDs. See Figure 7.

11. Insert the LED Module Assembly by lowering it into the globe ensuring to avoid touching the LEDs as shown in FIGURE 8. FIGURE 8 13. Replace the Lens Cap and Finial assembly removed in Step 8. 14. Inside the Ballast Compartment, screw in the supplied #12-24 X 0.375 Screw in to one of the two socket screw holes. 15. Inside the Ballast Compartment, secure the Retrofit LED Module Assembly by threading first the Flat Washer over the LED Module Assembly Leads followed by the Beveled Washer with the concave side facing downward and then secure the assembly with the Nut. See Figure 10. FIGURE 10

NOTE: To ease the installation of the LED Module Assembly into the top of the globe, use the Air Craft Cable Handle by looping each end of the cable over a Heatsink Fin to create a handle. See Figure 8a.

16. Remove the ballast assembly from the Ballast Compartment Door by removing the (3) bolts securing the metal mounting bracket to the mounting bosses on the inside of the door. Discard the ballast and save the removed bolts for mounting the Retrofit LED Driver Assembly. See Figure 11. FIGURE 11

12. Line up the threaded nipple with the wireway and gently release the assembly into the globe. See Figure 9.

17. Using the screws removed in Step 13; mount the Retrofit LED Driver Assembly to the Ballast Compartment Door. Using the screw removed in Step 5, secure the attached ground lead to the inside of the Ballast Compartment. See Figure 12.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS NOTE: Ground connection should include previous luminaire ground as well as ground from retrofit panel. Verify that the supply voltage is within the fixture’s voltage rating. 1.

For 120-277V applications make the following Electrical Connections to the terminal block located on the side of the Retrofit LED Driver Assembly: a. Connect the black lead to the voltage supply lead b. Connect the white lead to the neutral supply lead c. Connect the green or green/yellow ground lead to the supply ground lead

If Dimming is an option, make the following additional connections using Class 1 wire: a. Connect the violet dimming positive lead to the supply dimming positive lead. b. Connect the grey dimming negative lead to the supply dimming negative lead

18. See the “Electrical Connections” section for wiring instruction. 19. Once electrical connections are made, insert the Retrofit LED driver Assembly in the Ballast Compartment. See Figure 13. FIGURE 13

For 208/240/480V applications, make the following Electrical Connections to the terminal block located on the side of the Retrofit LED Driver Assembly: a. Connect L2 (Hot) supply lead to the black lead. b. Connect L1 (Hot) supply lead to the white lead c. Connect the green or green/yellow ground lead to the supply ground lead If Dimming is an option, make the following additional connections using Class 1 wire: d. Connect the violet dimming positive lead to the supply dimming positive lead. e. Connect the grey dimming negative lead to the supply dimming negative lead

20. Re-tighten the (2) bolts removed in Step 3 to secure the Ballast Compartment Door to the housing. 21. Reconnect power to the fixture.

FIELD ADJUSTABLE DIMMING NOTE: This luminaire is provided with field adjustable dimming. Luminaires leave the factory adjusted to the maximum setting which is Position 9 as shown in Figure 14. FIGURE 14
