• Right now is ok, but she is not open during the summer months. • At the current time Iam happy with my daycare but starting in the fall of 2017 my child will be starting school in Hillsboro and I will need daycare before and after school. • We use an in-home provider in Grandin and we would prefer to be in Hillsboro so we don't have to drive out of town for care. We were not impressed with the Mayville program though. Trashy employees - using bad grammar, unkempt, tasteless when talking to children, very little communication with parents about when they need to sign up for care, what is going on, etc. Hated that program and it's too bad that's the only one the city wants to see used. WAKE UP City Commission! The Main Discovery could have made it too if it were subsidized by the city the first time around. • Currently, yes. However, for the future, I will need more childcare and it is unavailable. • 2 different locations for childcare• To expensive • I am satisfied with my friend watching my child, but feel bad for inconveniencing her when she is not a daycare provider. • do not need child care • na • Location is tough and it is a newer in home daycare. The advantages of having a large facility in town is really missed. • Husband is helping but mother-in-law has to babysit when he works. Not a good situation • current provider lives 5 miles out of town. • Have two kids that have to be in different daycare locations Powered by

• We liked the location, convenience, etc when our children were in the center in Hillsboro. We no longer have that with our current arrangements. • Would prefer to be in hillsboro • My 3year old daughter has been on the waiting list for Head start since I was 6 months pregnant with her. For whatever reason we've continued to be pushed back. • We are currently using a licensed in-home daycare, but miss the convenience, flexibility and nice facilities that the center had to offer. • Cost, hours, closing • There are times that we have exhausted our current resources for care and have no one to watch our children. • I am constantly searching for child care, or to get my shifts covered. Hours needed are usually 230pm-830pm or 700pm-12midnight. I'm losing more hours and money at work because child care is nowhere! • Need a consistent place where my child can go. • Overall yes, would like them at the same place • My son needs care 2 days each week out of our home. Currently he had to stay home all week as I have no care for him. He was going to be starting around the time Main Discovery closed. • My mother really has a hard time taking care of him as he is getting older plus my friend is not doing a good job • Although we have an excellent home daycare, we are no longer able to utilize it for all of our children because it no longer takes after school care. We are currently relying on family members but this is a constant juggle and not a consistency. Many of the after school care available is more expensive than I see fair. Powered by

Do not have any children yet but looking for future The options are way too limited. Only because it's a 12 mile trip each way. But there needs to be more in Traill county We need before school care and care on "no school" days We currently drive at least 20 miles out of our way daily to receive care in another city.

Mayville State was terrible. Lost my child one day, poor communication, unorganized, poor care givers. Children are grown no need Do not need na no need no child-care age children The Buxton daycare put us on a waitlist, and called after 1.5 years. The in home providers that had openings when we were looking took care of 8+ children, had been cited numerous times for going over her limit, and was trying to get permission to care for 15 children (not sure how that's legal). So there was no options available that seemed safe enough. • Baby is not born yet.

When we had our child at The center that closed, it was way to expensive, they could never keep good workers, half the room were under staffed by following North Dakotas laws, a couple times there wasn't even a teacher in the room with a hand full of toddlers. "But they offered such great care!"! None We have had several child care issues in the last year. Access to infant care is an issue.

• No • starting in the fall of 2017 my child will be starting school in Hillsboro and I will need daycare before and after school • I am very frustrated with the way the city did not seem to give a rip about The Main Discovery and the hard working parents/board that worked to get that place open and operating and giving great care. Mayville State badmouthed it to no end, but they have lots of problems as well. We realize Teran was not a great business woman, but the city really was in the wrong by letting it fail. Mayville State is not WANTED by everyone, which is why The Main Discovery started in the first place. It's so sad the city is allowing a nice monopoly and willing to help them do it. • looking for before school care occasionally as needed depending on work schedule • N/A • na • not that i can think of • Infant care for our growing family • Need more daycare in Traill county- need care for school age kids for days off and summer months • We have had several concerns with child care in Hillsboro, specifically CDP and HPK. We have generally been concerned with the quality of care and safety of our child in the care of CDP, but there are no other options. We have been concerned with the professionalism of CDP staff, the safety of the children there due to lack of organization and misplaced children, and the general lack of organization of the entity. For instance, we registered for after school care, and our child's teacher confirmed. Our child went to the correct bus and arrived at the armory, and the staff then called The Main Discovery to tell them our child belonged there instead. I was never informed and was very concerned. Our child has also been gone from school and we have informed the teacher, and later the armory calls us (hours later) to see where our child is. We also were told there would be HPK open house, and we received the invitation the day after the open house. There is no organization, and it is very concerning as a parent. I have also been disappointed with the quality of the staff. Some are great - others are very concerning, and I'm glad my child is only with them one hour per day. We never had any of these issues at The Main Discovery. My child loved going there and now my child dreads going to the armory.
