DeFence - mapping and understanding communities that are divided by real or imaginary fences.

Requested Budget

Organisation Name Organisation country

Hungary Partners

We would like to bring divided communities closer to each other. Therefore we invited photographers, social scientist, urban&community developers to map together cities and localities where real and imaginary fences were built up. After mapping and understanding (partly) their needs, and also publishing these online, we would like to design and implement a model community project by involving the locals too.

West Balkan Route A documentary about the objects lost by refugees trying to cross Serbia - and about the stories of their owners. Often, these letters, pictures, and children's toys, are the only remains of their journeys, and sometimes of their lives. In our film, we want to reconstruct the identities and lives of the possessors of these objects and return them to their owners. By doing so, we hope to also restitute a piece of their identities, their history, as well as their dignity.
