PREMIER WILDLIFE The hunting on this ranch is excellent for both Mule Deer and Elk, with very large numbers of resident and migratory elk. There is also excellent predator hunting along with high populations of Blue Grouse. This ranch is located in Unit 13 of the State of Colorado Program for hunting. It offers over the counter elk tags for Bulls during archery season, and 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons. In the past, the ranch was part of a “ranching for wildlife” program within the State of Colorado, which allowed the previous owner to manage tags and seasons. Currently, the ranch would be qualified to receive landowner tags. The White River National Forest elk herd has a growing population of more than 37,000 head, hundreds of which live on, and around, the property year round. The hunting on the ranch has been managed responsibly and the region offers quality bulls ranging in the 250 to 300-inch class. Fishing on the Green Ranch consists of trophy trout fishing on the meandering WIlliams Fork River, a glistening mountain waterway that provides excellent summer and winter fishing for brown, brook and rainbow trout. Additional fishing is available through a number of nearby renowned guides and includes fisheries that rival the best, including the Elk River, Steamboat Lake, Trapper Lake, Yampa River, White River and a collection of high mountain streams.

AREA ATTRACTIONS The Steamboat and Hayden Area are excellent for recreation with many high country lakes and streams to enjoy fishing. The Yampa River is an excellent gold medal fishery with plenty of public access and good companies based in Steamboat to guide and float you on the river. In lower elevations of the Yampa River below Hayden, the river holds more Brown Trout with some warm water species like catfish and pike. The upper stretches of the river are known for Big Rainbows and good Brown Trout fishing with an occasional brook trout or cutthroat trout. There are truly very few rivers in the country with the kind of scenery and access that the Yampa River offers to the public. Steamboat Springs has become one of the worlds’ best ski areas and the town itself has also become a world class year-round destination. This western town offers fine dining and beautiful amenities with good recreational opportunities. It boasts 3 fine golf courses and access to the mountain in winter and summer and miles of public access for fishing and trails on the Yampa River. Excellent accommodations, restaurants and great shopping make it the perfect town for relaxing. It is difficult to find a ranch of any size more accessible ranch than the Green, located within 10 minutes of a commercial airport and within 35 minutes of a premier resort and ski town.
