Welcome Dear Participants, I am delighted to welcome you all to Liverpool to attend this year’s Global India Business Meeting, which the city is hosting as part of the inaugural International Festival for Business 2014. The International Festival for Business 2014 is the largest global concentration of business events ever held in the UK, and to have the Global India Business Meeting taking place here in Liverpool, as a part of the Festival, presents a rare but fitting opportunity for us all to be part of this once in-a-generation business and cultural experience. Liverpool has strong and long-standing links with India, and I am very proud of the many Indian-owned companies that have chosen to make the city their home, with special mention going to the Tata Group’s Jaguar Land Rover operation that makes such a valuable contribution to the local economy of Liverpool, and the Indsur Group who have recently established a HQ office operation here. We now all live in a truly global economy, and the following few days will provide a powerful platform for you, as international entrepreneurs, business leaders and government officials, gathered here for this significant event, to hold valuable and engaging discussions to support economic growth in our respective cities, regions and countries. Liverpool Vision has worked closely with Horasis over the past months on this ambitious event, and I hope that you find it both inspiring and informative. I do hope you enjoy your time in Liverpool and I look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future.

Joe Anderson The Mayor of Liverpool
