Grease-X® gives you the power to keep your municipal wastewater systems clear of fats, oils and grease (FOG) using your own crews and equipment. The four Grease-X formulas make a complete package to clear FOG-choked pipelines and lift stations, prevent FOG buildup and eliminate pipeline odors.

Grease-X uses non-caustic, non-polluting emulsifiers plus nature’s own microorganisms to break down and digest FOG, along with other odorcausing organic wastes. That makes Grease-X an environmentally friendly solution for sewer system maintenance. And because it’s easy to apply using equipment you already have, Grease-X is economical as well.

Grease-X Jet Fast-acting emulsifier for your jetter equipment

Grease-X Emulsifier offers a fast, environmentally friendly way to remove fats, oils and grease (FOG) that can build up in municipal wastewater lift lines. This concentrated, heavyduty emulsifier penetrates and softens all forms of FOG to clear blockages and restore flow. Grease-X Emulsifier contains biodegradable, non-ionic surfactants, chelating agents and water. These biodegradable components from the emulsifier can then be digested by Grease-X Biozyme. Grease-X Emulsifier is non-caustic and non-polluting. It contains no halogenated solvents like trichloroethylene or carbon tetrachloride, no inorganic residues and no corrosive chemicals. Plus, its excellent biodegradability makes Grease-X Emulsifier ideal for meeting Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations for mixed wastes.

Grease-X Jet is a fast-acting version of Grease-X Emulsifier that’s specially formulated for use with jetter trucks. When used with your jetting equipment, it quickly unblocks FOGchoked municipal pipelines and immediately restores pipe flow capacity. Grease-X Jet is effective on all types of animal, vegetable and petroleum greases, fats and heavy oils. Grease-X Jet is also ideal for cleaning jetting equipment after use. Like Grease-X Emulsifier, Grease-X Jet contains no halogenated or petroleum solvents. And unlike many solvent-based cleaners, Grease-X Jet breaks down grease, oil and petroleum products without generating toxic flammable vapors.

Grease-X Emulsifier is non-caustic and non-polluting, and it’s biodegradable, so it’s easy on your wastewater treatment plants.

Grease-X Biozyme Digests FOG, keeps pipelines clear

Grease-X Biodeodorizer Digests odor-causing wastes

While Grease-X Emulsifier and Grease-X Jet are used to clear FOG from lift stations and pipelines, Grease-X Biozyme is a preventive maintenance treatment to keep FOG from building up in your wastewater collection system. It can also be used to pre-treat wastewater, reducing the workload at sewage treatment plants. Grease-X Biozyme features highly concentrated microorganisms that coat pipelines and lift stations, digesting FOG and other organic matter as it flows through the wastewater collection system. Grease-X Biozyme microbes secrete enzymes that further digest FOG, plus they reproduce and spread throughout your system to consume even more floating waste and accumulated FOG. What’s more, the Grease-X Biozyme coating acts as a lubricant, further reducing backups. And because Grease-X Biozyme microbes actually eat grease rather than just break it into smaller pieces, it reduces the load on wastewater treatment plants. Grease-X Biozyme is all-natural, non-caustic and nonpolluting. It comes in dry, fine granules packaged in buckets or in water-soluble bags for stability and easy application.

Grease-X Biodeodorizer eliminates pipeline odor at the source. A highly concentrated, liquid microbial ecosystem, Grease-X Biodeodorizer digests odor-causing wastes. Specialized microorganisms are fortified with free enzymes that act as catalysts to chemically alter odor-causing materials. Grease-X Biodeodorizer also includes a surfactant that helps increase microbial activity. You can first use Grease-X Biodeodorizer to eliminate odors, then continue with preventive maintenance to keep odors from coming back. Grease-X Biodeodorizer is all-natural, and it contains no genetically altered microorganisms. It’s non-toxic, non-caustic and contains no hazardous chemicals, acids or solvents. And unlike other microbial deodorizers, Grease-X Biodeodorizer contains no potentially hazardous pseudomonas bacteria.

Which Grease-X product is right for you? The right Grease-X product depends on your application: 1. Blocked pipelines Use fast-acting Grease-X Jet to emulsify FOG and restore pipeline flow. Follow up with Grease-X Biozyme to digest the emulsified FOG and prevent future buildups. 2. Blocked lift lines Use Grease-X Emulsifier to emulsify FOG from lift stations. Follow up with Grease-X Biozyme to digest the emulsified FOG and prevent future buildups. 3. Preventive maintenance For pipelines near restaurants and other problem areas, apply Grease-X Biozyme once a week to continue microbial digestion of organic wastes and prevent FOG buildup. For pipelines and lift stations where odor is a problem, apply Grease-X Biodeodorizer once a week to continue digestion of odor-causing materials.

While chemical treatments simply move grease downstream, Grease-X Biozyme actually digests fats, oils and grease to prevent future buildups in your wastewater collection system.

Grease-X solves the problem of “restaurant row” It’s a common problem in many cities large and small: a series of fast-food and other restaurants strung along a busy street. Although they have grease traps, these restaurants all discharge fats, oils and grease into the collection system, and when combined they can completely clog an 8-inch pipe in a month or less. And that can lead to costly backups and service interruptions. Grease-X is the solution for these hot spots where FOG builds up faster. Grease-X Jet can quickly clear blocked sewer lines by breaking down FOG. Follow that treatment with Grease-X Biozyme to digest the remaining FOG. Then simply drop a bag of Grease-X Biozyme upstream from the sewer line serving a series of restaurants every week to continue microbial digestion and prevent future FOG buildup. Fats, oils and grease build up fast in areas where there are several fast-food restaurants, but with Grease-X you can clear away the FOG and keep it from coming back.

Grease-X eliminates odors at the source No doubt about it—some waste really stinks. But the residents of your city don’t want to smell it, especially in their neighborhoods. Conventional chemical deodorizers simply try to mask the offensive odors. And while some are temporarily effective, the smell always comes back, creating the need for regular and costly treatments. Grease-X Biodeodorizer takes a different approach. Like Grease-X Biozyme, it uses nature’s own microorganisms to digest organic wastes in your wastewater collection system. It’s specially formulated to attack the most common sources of wastewater odors. Plus, the microbes release free enzymes that chemically alter odor-causing materials. Simply apply Grease-X Biodeodorizer every week upstream from lines where odors have been a problem to continue microbial digestion and prevent future odors.

Regular treatments with Grease-X can clear FOG from your pipelines and keep your wastewater treatment system flowing smoothly.

Grease-X lessens the load on wastewater treatment plants While conventional chemical wastewater treatments break up accumulated FOG, all they can do by themselves is move the FOG downstream, making your wastewater treatment plants work harder. In addition, chemicals are quickly diluted and washed out of the system, requiring frequent—and expensive— treatments. Grease-X Emulsifier and Grease-X Jet are effective at breaking down fog and clearing lines and lift stations quickly, but they’re only the first part of the total Grease-X solution. Once you’ve emulsified the FOG, the next step is treatment with Grease-X Biozyme. Its microorganisms actually eat the grease, reducing the load on your wastewater treatment plant. And unlike chemicals treatments, the microbes in Grease-X Biozyme are alive— reproducing, forming colonies and constantly eating, whether attached to a pipeline wall or floating in the flow of wastewater. What’s more, Grease-X Biozyme can improve wastewater plant efficiency by 30 to 40 percent because it effectively biodegrades high concentrations of detergents that lower surface tension.

Because Grease-X Biozyme actually digests fats, oils and grease, it reduces the load on your wastewater treatment plants.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can Grease-X cure problems with FOG in our wastewater system?

Do lines have to be cleaned before using Grease-X Biozyme?

Grease-X Emulsifier and Grease-X Jet emulsify FOG to clear blockages and restore pipeline flow. That treats the immediate symptoms. Then, regular treatments with Grease-X Biozyme provide the long-term cure. Not only do the microbes in Grease-X Biozyme digest FOG, they reproduce and form colonies, coating pipe walls and continuing to digest FOG as it passes through the line. In addition, this slick coating prevents grease from sticking to and building up on pipe walls.

If your pipelines and lift stations have a heavy buildup of FOG, it’s a good idea to apply Grease-X Jet or Grease-X Emulsifier first to break it down and prevent backups. Otherwise, you can apply Grease-X Biozyme, and it will begin digesting FOG immediately.
