A Pleasure Harness Horse is one which can be safely taken out on a club type drive and give the driver a relaxed, stress free time. It should have features such as *does not pull, *can move along on a relatively loose rein, *does not have to be pushed along, *has a good strong trot, *is a willing walker, *is happy to stand for a long period of time, **is obedient, *can turn willingly on both reins and *is not inclined to shy.

13

A Pleasure Harness Horse workout should include at least several of the following: *walk, *halt for at least 10 seconds at a particular spot eg beside a cone, *trot through a serpentine of cones, *trot to the left and right, *a controlled rein back, *a shafting to the left and right, *simulation of going through a gate - stop and wait for “gate” to be opened by steward, walk through, stop whilst “gate” is closed and then move off and *walk or trot past an object on the ground eg raincoat. Horses will be watched in the line-up as well to see if they are happy to stand and wait or are jiggling about and restless.

14

A Pleasure Turnout should include *a horse with the above characteristics, *a safe vehicle which would suit a pleasure drive with accessories such as a picnic lunch, head collar and lead, bucket and feed for the horse, *strong safe harness, *quick release clips preferable, *driver and passengers can dress in a more causal style than for a “show” turnout and the whole turnout should be neat, clean and well maintained.

15

NB: Rings commence at 8:30 am (unless otherwise stated) and must be finished by 2:00 pm on Sunday.

16

Entry: $3.00 (unless otherwise specified)

Property Identification Codes (PICs) As from 1 September 2012 people with horses on their property need to apply for a PIC – this is a bio-security measure. PICs are assigned to individual properties and allocated by Livestock Health and Pest Authorities, who maintain the register. You may already have a PIC if you pay your rates to LHPA. Forms can be submitted online through www.lhpa.org.au. Every exhibitor bringing horses to the show will be required to list each horse being shown together with the PIC for the property from which it has come on the Waiver form before competing.

Contact number of participant:………………………………………………………. Email:…………………………………………………………………………………... Agricultural Societies Council of New South Wales Limited and Crookwell A P & H Society Inc (together the Suppliers) advise that participation (including passive

By signing this waiver I acknowledged that: 1.1 participation in animal handling is a recreational service for the purposes of section 139A of the Australian Competition and Consumer Act (Cth) 2010, and also a recreational activity for the purposes of section 5K of the Civil Liability Act (NSW) 2002; 1.2 participation in animal handling is a hazardous activity and may result in injury, loss, damage or death to me; 1.3 participation in animal handling requires certain skills and experience. 2

If I suffer injury, loss or damage (Loss) while participating in an animal handling event, I will not hold the Suppliers, their employees or agents - 56 -

legally responsible for any Loss I suffer. I will not sue the Suppliers, their employees or agents for any claims, costs, damages or liability. I acknowledge that the event and associated activities carry with them a significant risk of physical harm. I accept and assume all such risks of personal injury or death in anyway whatsoever arising from these activities and hereby waive my individual right to sue the Suppliers for all claims I or my representatives may have for such personal injury or death against the Suppliers in any way whatsoever arising from or in connection with these activities.

4

At the time of participating in the event, I have not been to any degree under the influence of alcohol or illicit drugs.

5

I will not consume any alcohol or illicit drugs while participating in the Event and agree that such use may result in me being excluded from the Event or other events with no entitlement to any refund of money paid for entry to the Suppliers.

Majura the Magician Majura has a wonderful show for children of all ages. The show is a fast paced act full of fun and magic that captivates the heart of the smallest child through to the oldest member of the audience.

Adults seem to enjoy the show as much as the children. From the moment the show begins with the appearance of a live dove to the spectacular finale where the dove transforms in mid air with a flash of fire and silk floats down, the children are on the edge of their seats with anticipation and laughter

Great audience participation happens in tricks like the haunted bell that rings by itself, a vanishing candle, a magic umbrella and colour-changing flower using lots of slapstick comedy and the appearance of a very cute rabbit and puppet

Includes some magical juggling where the balls vanish and reappear in a glass cylinder and some mysterious balloon sculpture modelling.

Cards and rope seem to have minds of their own as they knot themselves and travel through cyber space and time Kids Show Schedule (adjacent to Patting Paddock) Saturday 11:30 am and 1:30 am Sunday 3:00 pm 4:30 pm - 59 -

On Sunday, 13 August 2016, Crookwell Pony Club hosted the Zone 27 Rally day at the Crookwell Show ground. This event attracted over 75 riders from Marulan, Taralga, Breadalbane, Gunning, Braidwood, Collector and Goulburn. The zone rally day gave riders the opportunity to experience a variety of horse related activities including Stockman’s Challenge, dressage, cross country, jumping, show riding and sporting. The Crookwell Show ground was a fantastic venue as it provided the riders with ample space to complete these riding activities and the weather was superb. Previously the Zone rally day has been held in Goulburn and Crookwell Pony Club are hoping that this might be an annual event at the Crookwell Showground. Crookwell Pony club held a BBQ and lunch was provided to all participants. It was a great opportunity for these small clubs in the zone to combine resources and expertise for the day. Children also have the opportunity to ride with other children across the district.

Wool Article/Garment State Competition ASC Group 7 Regional Finals

Class: - three different types of wool articles and/or garments Conditions: 1 For the purpose of this competition the following definitions apply: a Garment: an item that can be worn eg dress, jacket, scarf, hat b Article: a utility item that is not worn but can be used (i) in the home eg blanket; (ii) with an outfit eg bag; (iii) for amusement eg toy; and (iv) as a decoration eg picture etc. 2 The whole article and/or garment must be constructed of, and contain a minimum of 80% wool. 3 Exhibits (articles/garments) may be knitted, crocheted, sewn, felted etc and must be hand crafted (use of sewing machine is permitted). 4 A sample of the yarn, fabric or fibre with label must be attached to each item making up the exhibit. If a label is not available as with hand spun/felted a handwritten label with relevant details and sample will suffice. 5 An exhibit in this competition may consist of the work of one individual or a group of individuals, or an organization. 6 All three article/garments must have been completed within the 12 months prior to the local show and made by the exhibitor/s. 7 An exhibit having won at a local show may be exhibited (the same three article/garments) at the Group Final. The winning exhibit at the Group Final is then eligible to compete in the State Final. 8 An exhibitor is only eligible to represent one Society at Group level and one Group at State level. 9 An exhibit (article/garment) that has previously competed at Group level is not eligible to compete again. 10 If this class is not scheduled or attracts no entries at a local show, the Show Secretary (or delegate) may select three suitable individual exhibits and, with the exhibitors permission, enter them in the Group judging as an exhibit representing the particular Society concerned. 11 It is the responsibility of the Group Secretary and winner to co-ordinate the transfer of the winning entry to Sydney for the State judging.
