(28 x 305 cm) MATERIALS  Lion Brand® Scarfie® (Art. #826)  207 Silver/Charcoal 1 ball (A)  214 Cream/Mustard 1 ball (B)  204 Denim/Navy 1 ball (C)  or colors of your choice  Lion Brand® crochet hook size K-10.5 (6.5 mm)  Lion Brand® large-eyed blunt needle GAUGE 2 circles = about 3 3/4 in. (9.5 cm). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. STITCH EXPLANATION joining-dc Yarn over, insert hook in indicated ch and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook (2 loops remain on hook), insert hook from front to back into the 4th dc of corresponding circle in previous Strip (see Assembly Diagram), yarn over and draw yarn through all loops on hook. NOTES 1. Scarf is made from 6 Strips of circles; each Strip is made from 60 circles. 2. After Strip I is made, 55 of the 60 circles in the next Strip are joined to circles in the previous Strip following Assembly Diagram. 3. Each circle is worked in one round. Yarn is not fastened off between circles. 4. For those who find a visual helpful, we’ve included a stitch diagram. STRIP I First Circle: With A, ch 7, work 7 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch do not count as a st), sk next 2 ch, sl st in next ch; rotate piece to work along opposite side of beg ch-7, 7 dc in ch at base of first 7-dc group, sk next 2 ch, sl st in next ch – you will have 14 dc and a center ch-7. Do not fasten off. Next Circle: Ch 7, work 7 dc in 4th ch from hook, sk next 2 ch, insert hook in next ch and in last sl st of previous circle and work a sl st; rotate piece to work along opposite side of beg ch-7, 7 dc in ch at base of first 7-dc group, sk next 2 ch, sl st in next ch. Do not fasten off. Rep Next Circle until you have a Strip of 60 circles. Fasten off. STRIP II First Circle: With B, work same as First Circle of Strip I. Do not fasten off. Second Circle: With B, work same as Next Circle of Strip I. Do not fasten off. Note: You will now beg joining circles to previous Strip following Assembly Diagram. Next Circle: With B, ch 7, work 7 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch do not count as a st), sk next 2 ch, insert hook in next ch and in last sl st of previous circle and work a sl st; rotate piece to work along opposite side of beg ch-7, 3 dc in ch at base of first 7-dc group, work joining-dc in same ch, 3 dc in same ch, sk next 2 ch, sl st in next ch. Do not fasten off. Rep Next Circle, joining each circle to next circle of previous Strip following Assembly Diagram, until a total of 57 circles have been made, 55 of the circles are joined to circles of previous Strip. Do not fasten off. Rep Second Circle to make 3 more circles. These last 3 circles are not joined to circles of previous Strip. Fasten off. STRIP III First Circle: With C, work same as First Circle of Strip I. Do not fasten off. Second and Third Circles: With C, work same as Next Circle of Strip I twice. Do not fasten off. Note: You will now beg joining circles to previous Strip following Assembly Diagram. Next Circle: With C, ch 7, work 7 dc in 4th ch from hook (3 skipped ch do not count as a st), sk next 2 ch, insert hook in next ch and in last sl st of previous circle and work a sl st; rotate piece to work along opposite side of beg ch-7, 3 dc in ch at base of first 7-dc group, work joining-dc in same ch, 3 dc in same ch, sk next 2 ch, sl st in next ch.
