Marina Maria

In the Gulf of Olbia. All the shades of blue and more. Turquoise, emerald green, powder blue and dark blue: these are the colours of the sea that wets Olbia’s coastlines, stretching along a hundred kilometres of stunning beaches and reefs. The countless varieties of fish and sparkling, colourful marine flora, along with the white sandy beaches and rock-lined coasts, make for a picturesque setting in which to take car trips, boat rides and walks, visiting archaeological sites, naturalistic areas and, of course, the seaside.

Beaches An absolute must is the Marine Protected Area, which includes the islands of Tavolara and Molara and the beaches of Pittulongu, Bados, Marinella, Lo Squalo and Mare Rocce, with powdery white sand and crystalline water. Also worthy of mention are the Saline, Costa Romantica, Poltu Casu and Porto Istana beaches to the south, in addition to Porto Rotondo, famous and fashionable in the international jet set.

Baia Salinedda

Nature and history just steps from home.

Residenze Myrsine is in an enchanting and privileged position, located in “Murta Maria”, an area with high environmental value and rich in history and legends. It borders the sea reserves of Tavolara and Molara to the south and La Maddalena to the north, and is just a few kilometres from Porto San Paolo, San Teodoro, Coda Cavallo, Brandinchi, Budoni, La Caletta and Costa Smeralda. The complex is situated near a white sandy cove, easily accessible on foot, crossing a small bridge over a small saltwater lagoon leading to the sea. This unique characteristic adds charm to the area’s beauty, making it home to many protected species of birds, such as pink flamingos and herons, who rest and feed in the natural ponds formed by the sea right after the stretch of beach. Even the fish come into the small pond from the sea around evening time, providing quite a sight.

Myrsine Legend Legend says that Myrsine, a young Attic maiden, defeated her peer in an athletic competition but was then killed by the friend who could not accept defeat. The goddess Pallas transformed her body into a shrub called Myrsine, which today we call myrtle.

High value-added homes.

Residenze Myrsine is the product of a territorial redevelopment initiative perfectly integrated into the landscape and into the local context. It features prestigious constructions distributed on two levels, finished with care and attention to details: light-coloured plaster, elegant inserts in hand-sculpted field stone (a technique originally used to mark one’s land), granite from the ancient quarry of Buddusò, and the use of wood for the trussed roofs of the terraces and for the window shutters, while the interior boasts prestigious finishing in line with local tastes. All of this makes for a splendid example of Gallura architecture.

Sardinian granite The use of granite in Sardinia has a long history. In ancient times, it was processed into slabs and monoliths in order to build the Tombe dei Giganti e Nuraghi. The latter, constructed via overlapping rows of very heavy blocks of stone, were held together without any binder, using an unknown construction technique defined as cyclopean. Other examples can be found in some of the columns of the Pantheon, erected in Gallura granite, and in the colonnade of the Cathedral of Pisa. Up until the mid-twentieth century, granite was used for churches, buildings and in urban design.

The complex consists of lots of one and two bedroom apartments, with the possibility of combining units to create custom sizes. The complex also features a private pool for exclusive use by the units facing it. The ground floor units have a private garden, with an underground level that is well-ventilated and illuminated by ample lightwells, while those on the first floor have spacious covered terraces overlooking the sea. All apartments have independent heating/air conditioning systems, natural gas-fired water heater, and dishwasher/washing machine connections, and all rooms have telephone/internet connection. Each apartment has a parking space.

Energy Efficiency

Built to efficiency and energy savings standards, the units are classified as Class A, thanks to stone-covered walls finished in thermal plaster, the low-transmittance windows and the well-designed plants, which guarantee minimal heat dispersion and low energy consumption, both in summer and in winter.

Food and wine The typical Sardinian delicacies, passed down through the generations, are a blend of ancient traditions. Meat, fish, nougat, almonds, honey, oils and fragrances of the land, cheese, saffron, known as the red gold of Sardinia, Vermentino and Cannonau wines, among others, are the key ingredients of Sardinian culinary culture.
