On-Line Class Enrollment Limit SEVIS requirements allow an international student to take the equivalent of one class or up to three units per semester or quarter as distance education in order to be considered in compliance with the federal regulations. USCIS –United States Citizenship and Immigration Services All students are required by INS regulation to maintain 12 units with a minimum of 2.00 GPA every semester.
