DAY-TO-DAY ITINERARY SUMMARY OF AUSTRALIA TOUR Day #1 – Morning departure from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and arrive in Los Angeles, California. Evening departure from Los Angeles International (LAX) Airport for trans-oceanic non-stop flight to Sydney, Australia. Day #2 – Spent in-flight as cross the International Dateline and “lose” a day! Day #3 – Arrive in Sydney, Australia. After clearing immigration and customs, meet your Australian Tour Director. Transfer to the Shangri-La Hotel for check-in and acclimate yourself to the climate and time zone changes. Later that evening, enjoy a Group Welcome Dinner and overnight at the Shangri-La Hotel. Meals Included: Welcome Dinner.
Day #4 – After breakfast with the Koalas enjoy a City Tour of Sydney’s iconic sights and surrounding beaches. Enjoy a Luncheon Cruise on Sydney’s harbor for great views of the Harbor Bridge and Opera House. Afterwards, enjoy a guided tour of the Sydney Opera House. Later that evening, enjoy dinner (on your own) and overnight at Shangri-La Hotel. Meals Included: Breakfast and Lunch. Day #5 – After breakfast enjoy Sydney at your leisure. Perhaps take an optional tour to Hunter Valley or the Blue Mountains. Later that evening, enjoy dinner (on your own) and overnight at the Shangri-La Hotel. Meals Included: Breakfast. Day #6 – After breakfast fly to Melbourne and enjoy a City Tour. Day #8 – After breakfast fly to Alice Springs and enjoy a tour of the Royal Flying Service Base. Later that evening, enjoy a special Outback Dinner including a traditional Aboriginal performance. Overnight at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Alice Springs. Meals Included: Breakfast and Outback Dinner.
Day #9 – After an early breakfast visit a camel farm before traveling to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Participate in a walk through of the domes of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and view the spectacular evening sunset on Uluru (Ayers Rock). Later that evening, enjoy an optional “Sounds of Silence” dinner and overnight at the Ayers Rock Resort (Sails in the Desert). Meals Included: Breakfast.
Day #10 – After breakfast enjoy a visit to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and view the galleries of Aboriginal rock art. Afterwards, fly to tropical Cairns for a tour of the city sights. Later that evening, enjoy a relaxing dinner (on your own) and overnight at the Marina Shangri-La Hotel. Meals Included: Breakfast. Day #11 – After breakfast enjoy a cruise to Dunk Island and enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Later that evening, enjoy a relaxing dinner and overnight on Dunk Island. Day #12 – After breakfast enjoy a cruise excursion to the Great Barrier Reef at Beaver Cay with lunch included. Later that evening, enjoy a relaxing dinner and overnight on Dunk Island. Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Day #13 – After breakfast depart Dunk Island and transfer on the Kuranda Railway by following the coastline north to Kuranda, a picturesque rainforest retreat. Enjoy some free time to explore before riding the Kuranda Railway back down to Cairns for your Farewell Dinner. Overnight at the Marina Shangri-La Hotel. Meals Included: Breakfast and Farewell Dinner. Day #14 – After breakfast depart from Cairns International Airport on Qantas Airlines for Los Angeles International (LAX) Airport.
